First, Hendrickson's is not my home dealership; I am an out-of-towner staying in Monticello for the summer. STILL received terrific treatment. Had my 2001 300M in for routine maintenance, but had menti out-of-towner staying in Monticello for the summer. STILL received terrific treatment. Had my 2001 300M in for routine maintenance, but had mentioned having had a slow tire leak for ages; other dealerships had just aired the tire and told me I had a damaged rim. Hendrickson's found a nail in the tire. Then besides my having an oil change and inexpensive belts changed, service recommended I have both the timing belt and water pump replaced; at first I wasn't going to, and Hendrickson's was fine with that, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt that since the car had just turned 100,000 miles, having the additional work done was a good idea. Got the car back, drove it just around town for a week, and then on my first long trip, the car overheated 100 miles in. I called Hendrickson's and they told me what to do -- shepherded me through adding water to the coolant and then directed me to a Indianapolis dealership for additional help. That Indianapolis dealership turned out to be a bunch of gotcha' types -- upon hearing that my car had overheated, they immediately told me I'd need a new $4,000 engine. When I refused, they said they wanted at least to diagnose the car -- for only $95.00. Surprise, surprise, their diagnosis remained that my engine was ruined; Hendrickson's, in the meantime, didn't believe the second dealership's ruling, offered me a rental car (which I didn't need due to having already arranged alternative transportation), and flatbedded my car the 100 miles back to Monticello -- all on their dime. They then worked on my car -- still on their dime -- to figure out what had caused the overheating; ultimately, diagnosed that aluminum shavings left from work done two years earlier when a head gasket had blown were the source of the problem. My car is now running beautifully -- have put almost 2,000 miles on it since its return on July 5, in spite of the second dealership's service manager's doom and gloom prediction that my engine is STILL damaged and will need major repair shortly. Many many thanks to Hendrickson's for taking the time to diagnose accurately what was going on with my car and for being so professional -- also for being persistent enough and car-smart enough to figure out what was really going on with my 300M.
