We have purchase three (3) Mazda cars at this dealership and have referred two friends to them as well. We firmly beleive it starts with the intergrity and leadership at the top (owner Mr. John Patterson). We recenlty purchased another make of automobile and we went out of our way to do business with a John Patterson owned "Hyundai" dealership because of great our experience has been at Tustin Mazda. My experience at Tustin Mazda was surreal. I could not believe car buying could be this easy and, dare I say, enjoyable? From the moment I walked into the dealership, I felt taken care of. I met the owner, John Patterson, who gave me his cell phone number on the spot, I met his niece in reception plus all the guys in service. And ... there was lunch! Jim was amazing and got right down to business, didn't bs me and let me drive what I already felt was "my" car. He even opened the hood so I could get a look at the engine, etc. No car salesman has ever done that. I'd been trying to find this car for over 2 months and he knew a lot more about the car than other salesmen I'd already dealt with. Jim was no nonsense, offered a fair price and beat the interest rate I'd been approved for at my credit union. When I came to the dealership that day I had no idea I'd leave 3 hours later having made a deal, I didn't even have my check book with me. No way could it be this easy! Lori in finance worked with me and we signed a preliminary agreement until I could get my check to her. THEN she even agreed to hold the check for a day until my funds transfer was completed. Wow. For the overall experience, I'd give a 4.75 if I could because there was a little bit of miscommunication regarding my trade. They offered a price without actually seeing my car, then when I brought in my trade the next day (again, driving all the way from El Segundo) they had to keep it overnight to have a mechanic look at it. I stressed about it all night worrying that they'd renege. BUT, they gave me a loaner car and the next day they called me exactly when they said they would and we still had a deal with a very small adjustment to my trade. They delivered my new car to me all the way to my workplace in El Segundo the next day!! Ozzy Rios delivered my beautiful new car to me, made the paperwork painless and even gave me a hug to congratulate me. Jim followed up with a call to ask if I was happy ... and oh boy, am I! He even set my radio presets for me, how cool is that? I will definitely be sending my friends (heck, even people I don't like much) to Tustin Mazda. It's worth the drive. More

The dealer even gave me a better rate on my auto loan than my bank! My only reason for a 4 on overall experience was because it took a little bit longer to get things done than I had anticipated. Other than that, my entire experience was awesome. My next car will definitely be bought from this dealer. More

Tustin Mazda can't be beat for the outstanding service dept. and especially Nicholas. Not only friendly and professional, he is accurate and reliable. He keeps you updated on the status while the car is being serviced (whether you are waiting or left the car), explains your options and always has the car washed. He knows you by name when you walk in the door, he can answer any question or get the information if its not at his fingertips. He treats everyone like you are his friend. His is honest and trustworthy and I, too, drive out of my way to have my car serviced at this dealer. I have asked the owner to transfer Nick to the Huntington Beach store which would be much closer but it hasn't happened yet! The extra miles I drive is worth the top notch service from Nicholas. We bought our car from another dealer and HATE returning there even for the FREE oil changes that were part of the "deal" when we bought it. So sorry we didn't buy from Tustin Mazda but were anxious to get the car that was sitting on another dealer's lot. More

They made it very easy. No heavy pressure from sales or especially finance person. We had pre approved financing thought Capital One at 7.75%. This dealer offered us 2.9% instead. We also found manufacturer incentive after signing first purchase agreement. After showing this to dealer, they explained that it was either the incentive discount or the low % rate. BUT, they still gave us half the manufacturer discount and the low interest rate. So , we got low interest rate and 400 dollars below "invoice". My wife has good credit and I have poor but make the money. Additionally, they have a child playroom with toys and tv which saved us big time with our 4 year old! The Browns More

I have bought a dozen or so cars in my life, and while shopping for various cars probably visited over 100 dealerships. This dealership is unique. This dealership is phenomenal. I have dealt with big dealerships, small dealerships, pushy dealerships, indifferent dealerships, "The Customer is our #1 Priority" dealerships, fixed-price dealerships, "haggle like a Medieval bazzar" dealerships, and every other kind you can imagine. I have received honest service. I've also been lied to, and in one case, the dealership committed fraud against me. I've seen it all, and have never had an experience comparable to Tustin Mazda. Some things that stand out: -- Jim Feinstein was exactly what you'd want a salesman to be -- truly helpful. He was there to point out features, answer questions and take care of our needs. He wasn't there to push the car. He wasn't obsequious. -- We chatted about where I worked, and based on that, he let me know of a special program they have that got me the best price possible. I do my research -- I know the MSRP, the invoice price, the holdback, and what typical customers are paying. I know how it can change by the day of the week, and the date of the month. I, a consummate negotiator, felt no reason to negotiate over the price. It not only met my expectations, it exceeded them. -- They were not there for a perfunctory test drive as a means to an end. They really wanted us to experience the vehicle. First there was an extended test drive. Then they offered to let us take the vehicle with us to other dealerships to compare vehicles side-by-side. Then they gave it to us overnight, for an "extended test drive." -- We visited eight dealerships while car shopping this month. Seven of the eight needed a driver's license just to take a test drive -- followed by a surreptitious credit check. Tustin Mazda didn't ask for that (and didn't run a credit check when they did) until we took the car overnight. -- John Patterson, the owner, was there -- on site, making sure to meet everyone, and personally involving himself in the process. We got to hear about the dealership's philosophy, and how he gives back to the community. We have his cell phone number, in case we have questions or need anything. -- I just mentioned giving back to the community. They use the proceeds from car sales to fund child seat programs and support charities. It's not a perfunctory gesture -- it's not something they do just so they can claim they do it. They're clearly committed to giving back. -- It's a small gesture, but they cater lunch every week. All are invited to come back for lunch (pasta, chicken & ribs when we were there) and a free car wash, every week. -- Once you decide to buy the car, many dealerships use the finance guys (& gals) to push further sales on you. I bought a Toyota a year ago, and was pushed all sorts of things. I'm well aware of the various psychological tricks, and they were on full display when I got the Toyota. At Tustin Mazda, they simply made me aware of the various extras such as the extended warranty and paint protectant. No push. No sleazy tricks pulled on a captive audience. To close, and to repeat something from my opening, this dealership is phenomenal. I couldn't rate them more highly. More
Our experience was one that you love to tell others about! We had gone to three other car dealerships, and no one even bothered to greet us, but when we arrived at Tustin Mazda; Sammy greeted us with a about! He was so passionate about the Mazda 3 and knew all details, he took his time and offered us water. He was polite and friendly! In fact, everyone was so wonderful to do business with. We had several people stop by and greet us, and then after a long day, we had the pleasure of working with Lori in finance. They all helped fax, answer questions, and did whatever they could to get us into my daughter's very first car! Thank you, Tustin Mazda for all your help! You all deserve a 10+ rating! I would encourage anyone seeking to buy a car from a dealer to visit them, and ask for Sammy!! More

Our delivery on the Friday before Memorial day weekend was fantastic. Everyone at the dealership, including the owner, John Patterson, showed genuine gratitude for our business, and an enthusiastic and positive experience for ourselves, and for our daughter. Robert was very thorough and knowledgeable about our daughter's new MAZDA3 and spent quality-time in helping her get familiar with her new car. Lori in finance was fantastic, friendly and fast! Without question, my best car-buying experience by far, in more than 30 years!! It is clear that this is a dealership where not only the customers are treated with respect and enthusiasm, but all of the employees as well. It is easy to see that everyone at Tustin Mazda truly loves working there! And they even took the time to put a big red ribbon on our daughter's new MAZDA3!! Just another example of how Tustin Mazda earned our new-car business, and why we'll gladly go back for service in the future! Our daughter will never forget her first new-car experience, and we will gladly refer anyone to Tustin Mazda for their next new car!!
