Should be 1 star but don't think they allow it. I recently wrote a review titled "Unexpected Surprise". I wrote the review after building a Ram 3500, and couldn't have been happier at the time. My dealer was Chris McMillan, and the manager was Harry Matos. On May 30th we sat down and built the truck and I was told that it was going to be ordered the next day, but in order to go through with it I needed to put $1000.00 down. I gladly did. I texted Chris the next day to see if it had been ordered and to double check that it had the correct options and he wanted me to come in and review the 5 pages of details. When I got to the dealership on the 2nd to read the 5 pages, it was actually a different truck and not even close to the truck that I wanted... and the truck wasn't ordered still. That's when Harry came over to help order the correct truck. We put in the order for the truck and I left...or I thought we did. I texted on the 9th to see if the order went through, and on the 10th asked again if there was any word. I was told there was word but that I'd get a call later. Instead he sent me an email and asked me to call him. The email was of the 2017 Ram 3500 since I was told they quit taking orders for the 2016's. What they didn't tell me is that the deadline for orders was June 9th. If they would have put in the order, or followed up with the manufacturer when they were having "computer problems", they could have ordered my truck. The next day, June 11th, I asked for him to call me when he got a minute and never heard anything back. I kept hearing that he was talking to Harry and that he'd call soon. Since I was out of town I asked my wife to go and get answers. She went straight to Harry and his answers sealed the deal for us. When asked why he didn't call the manufacturer when the ordering system wasn't working he said that he probably should have done that. This was supposed to be a great experience and it ended up a very poor experience. I was left feeling like I will get what I get when they get around to getting it for me. They considered calling the manufacturer "Thinking out of the box". - The deadline for ordering 2016s was the June 9th. I went in to Locklear on May 30th. Why wasn't it ordered in time? - Service after the sale was sub-standard. I expected more...way more. There are always two sides of the story, and I get it that there will be a rebuttal to this review. I will say that if you are looking for follow-up and service after the sale...go elsewhere. I'd shop with Hendrick's in Hoover. They were able to still get the order in for me despite the deadline, although after a lot of consideration I ended up going with the 2500. Amazing how a little can-do attitude and willingness to help the customer can "earn your business". Please look for this review on Google and Yelp as well as I will be posting soon. More

A Game of Jeeps For those of you looking for the shorter version: I could not have asked for a better person to help us with the purchase of my wife's new 2016 For those of you looking for the shorter version: I could not have asked for a better person to help us with the purchase of my wife's new 2016 Jeep than the Nicest Guy in the Car Business himself, Christopher McMillan, Sr. He was there through thick and thin and went WELL above and beyond to exceed our expectations. I must also mention Mr. Ken Price in Parts/Service. Definitely the most honest and straight forward experience I've ever had dealing with a service department. Everyone at Locklear that we dealt with in person were nothing but nice. The only major complaint would have to be the detailing department. It's obvious they do not take any pride in their work. We had to send the vehicle to them twice and still took home a very dirty car both inside and out. Dirt, hand prints, tire shine everywhere, the list of poor performance goes on. Christopher even offered to clean it himself, but we couldn't allow that. THAT'S NOT HIS JOB!! Five star people here, no doubt. But two and three star practices netted them the four star overall. Their people saved it from being lower. Now, for those that want to stick this out for a little bit: Gather 'round and join me as I recap the FULL experience that was buying our Jeep. It started a couple weeks ago (mid-May) when one of our primary vehicles broke down beyond repair. We rented a Jeep Renegade Limited from that pick you up place for a week and absolutely fell in love. So, of course, we go to Locklear CDJR to see what they have available. Much to our dismay, they did not have one available. Or so we (including Christopher) thought, but I'll get back to this in a minute. We began looking at several others. Fast forward to the end of day one, where we settle on a 2016 Jeep Cherokee! (Yes, not a Renegade....yet...) It didn't have the features we would've had in the Renegade we wanted, but it was a little roomier, and we thought that the uConnect 8.whatever infotainment system would play videos for the grandson. We (my wife) thought we could get used to it and then we would be fine (I know, big mistake, but whatever.... I mean, #YOLO, right?). Not only did we not get used to it, but NO video playback PERIOD and I began to hate all the other things she hated about it, too! Now we begin the coping and attempted problem solving. Enter Christopher again. This poor guy tried forever to find a way to get the video issue solved. Meanwhile, we tried to fix one thing she did not like by purchasing the custom molded rubber floor mats (which are worth every single penny if you are considering). Enter Ken Price. Absolutely fabulous experience with him. Daily. By phone. For ten days. You see, apparently while the warehouse they order from tells them that the items ordered will arrive in 1-2 days, what they actually mean is they'll send them when they send them. Ken was great, updated us daily, and even threw in a little gift for the wait. We shall miss our daily phone conversations, but plan to visit on occasion. The day the floor mats come in, what catches our eye but THE RENEGADE we came specifically to purchase (what a gut punch!). To make it worse, we find out "Oh, that's been here for 65 days. We just kept it in the back." Ok, that's bad practice for the dealership however you slice it (hence the four stars and not five). You see, we had not two weeks earlier looked at the entire online inventory and the whole lot (that we had access to) not only ourselves, but also with Christopher just to make sure that we hadn't missed anything. So, back to poor Christopher we go. We must have that Renegade! He is a little upset as well, to say the least. He honestly had no idea that vehicle was there. Well, after much headache for him, unfortunately, and maybe a little fussing from my better half, he comes through for us again and works out a trade on the Cherokee for the Renegade!! This guy was great on the first purchase. He KNOWS his products and is extremely helpful. But for him to put up with what he did and come through like a boss in the end, well, I don't know what to say other than I have found my car salesman and made a friend for many, many years to come. I will ALWAYS send everyone I know to Christopher from now on. It may be his catch phrase or nickname, or whatever you want to call it, but Christopher McMillan really is The Nicest Guy in the Car Business (TM) and without a doubt the most patient guy in the car business as well (feel free to snag that one too, Christopher). My hat's off to you, kind sir. And to think that the detailers (I give them this title loosely) couldn't respect Christopher's efforts or us as customers to do their job. In spite of the negatives with the detailing, we'll be back for round two in a couple months for the Renegade Trailhawk installment of the series. Stay tuned! Oh, and Locklear CDJR, you guys owe Christopher McMillan a HUGE thank you, a promotion, a paid family vacation, and a nice comfy desk chair for him to kick back in between customers to rest his hustle. The best thing you guys can do is retain him for many years and perhaps consider making him your primary trainer, should such person/position exist. I have no doubt that he will go to the same lengths and, dare I say, farther if necessary for any of his customers. This man is a leader. Don't let him slip through your hands. More

Unexpected Surprise Today is Memorial Day and when I woke up this morning I had no idea that I would have bought a brand new Ram 3500 Mega Cab Laramie truck! We showed up Today is Memorial Day and when I woke up this morning I had no idea that I would have bought a brand new Ram 3500 Mega Cab Laramie truck! We showed up at the dealership to price and drive with zero intention of buying today. My wife and I had done our research, and although we had the financial ability to buy now, we had a plan in place to purchase the truck within the next year. Chris did such a wonderful job of explaining the features in a knowledgable, kind, and professional way. This is the fifth new vehicle that I've purchased in my lifetime, and by far the best experience. I never once felt pressured; and in fact, I was encouraged to compare vehicle makes. In my past experiences with sales personnel, I've often found them ignorant of their product, apathetic, and sloppy. Chris was the total opposite. He was able to give me a very thorough walkthrough of the Ram 3500, complete with specs. He was alert, attentive to our needs/likes, and sharp in appearance. We have come to know Christopher McMillan as the "The Nicest Guy in the Car Business". He has lived up to the title in our opinion! If my wife and I weren't active duty military we would buy from him again in a heartbeat! Chris IS the reason that we are walking away from the dealership very happy after spending about $60,000.
