Already having a Jeep Commander we decided that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x2 would best fit our family’s need. We decided on the model, color, options and the price we were willing to pay then made online inquiry’s to dealers for the best out the door price including tax, title and fees for the specific vehicle on their lot. I actually enjoyed the new way of internet shopping and price comparison but some dealers would only give a ball park estimate, not their actual price. The market is very competitive and internet shopping eliminated those that really did not want to sell a new vehicle. My experience with Locklear was very pleasant from the very beginning. I was promptly contacted by phone, email and a follow up call asking what they can do to earn my business and they did. To other car dealers, what is so difficult about giving customers what they want? Don’t try to sell us a bunch of useless goose grease. Good job Locklear! More

Consider Yourself Warned I purchased a used 2012 Jeep Wrangler (15,000 miles) from this dealership in October of 2012. At approximately 39,000 miles the vehicle stopped starti I purchased a used 2012 Jeep Wrangler (15,000 miles) from this dealership in October of 2012. At approximately 39,000 miles the vehicle stopped starting - would not crank for five days. I took the vehicle back to Locklear where they kept it for over two and a half weeks - unable to diagnose the problem. I picked the vehicle up, and upon returning home, discovered I had no interior lights, no door locks, no power windows, no door alarms, and no instrumental panel lights. I took the jeep back to Locklear - I live 45 minutes away - and they kept it for another three weeks. This time they diagnosed the problem as a faulty instrument cluster. They would not warranty the part even though I was only 3,000 miles over on the Chrysler warranty. The part would cost approximately $780 and they could not guarantee that it would fix anything but the interior lights. Currently, this vehicle is for sale under their used car listings with a glowing autocheck record even though it has had several electrical problems. Against my better judgment, I purchased a new 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon from Locklear. They were going to have the vehicle shipped from Benchmark in Birmingham, Alabama. After signing all of the paperwork, Benchmark would not sell them the vehicle. Basically, Locklear sold me a vehicle they did not even own. This happened AGAIN after I signed paperwork on a jeep being shipped from Georgia. I arrived to pick up my new wrangler only to learn that I would have to sign more paperwork on a jeep that they purchased from Tennessee. Apparently, the Georgia deal also fell through. However, the worst part of this whole experience is that Locklear detailed my trade in without my knowledge (the above mentioned 2012 wrangler) and were able to return only a few of my personal items. Although they tried to "make it right" by paying me for the items that were missing - I will never know what happened to my belongings. This was the worst car experience that I have ever had - I will never buy or trust a vehicle sold from this dealership. I have reported this experience to the Better Business Bureau. UPDATE: Just when I thought this experience could not get any worse - I received a call from ALLY Bank at the beginning of February notifying me that I was 13 days late for my car payment. I had already set up my payment to automatically deduct from my bank account. Long story short, the dealership had not cancelled the paperwork on one of the jeeps. I had two payments due on two new Jeep Wranglers. After settling this with ALLY, I had to get new insurance cards printed because they also had the wrong VIN number on them. If you are in the Tuscaloosa area, just go to Birmingham - it is well worth the piece of mind and 45 minute drive. More
