Had a deal in place to buy a rebuild title from them to give my son a car on 9/9/2022. My son put $500 down on it - he's 17 and works at McDonald's. I told the dealership I was very concerned about obtaining insurance on the vehicle from the start. The salesman, Larry, instructed me NOT to tell my insurance company that this was a salvage/rebuild or provide them the VIN until the state completed its inspection. I thought that was suspicious so I told my insurance company the whole story on 9/13/2022. They told me they would only give a very barebones policy on the car at best and advised me NOT to take the car - especially for a minor to use as his primary vehicle. For a week I sent emails and left voicemails telling them that I cannot take the car - they intentionally ignored them. The owner Josh called me today 9/20 after the title cleared with “great news.” I asked why they ignored my calls and emails, he brushed right over that. I said I can’t take the car. That’s when he told me I owe him an apology and I wasted his time. I tried for A WEEK to get ahold of them so they could relist the car. He said he's keeping the $500 because he needs to pay himself back for the time I wasted and that I have no honor and my word is no good. Josh writes this on his website: "I wanted to start a different kind of car company built on Christian ethics and morals. Our faith guides us, but I tell people all of the time that we love Jesus and set out to honor Him, but that doesn't mean your car will last forever!" He stole $500 from a 17 year old, ignored a week's worth of calls (he could have relisted the car right away when I called last week), his salesman did everything he could to get me to NOT tell my insurance company that this was was salvaged title. I've been looking for a new-used car for several months, and have visited many car lots. Trade Guru was hands-down, the best car buying experience of my entire life! I was assisted by Daniel and Larry, both of whom were friendly and helpful, and also relaxed and low-key. They didn't pressure me to hurry up and buy a car. They let me take my sweet time and answered all my questions over the course of a few days, in person and by phone. They offered a free CarFax report and even fixed an electric window for me. The car was clean inside and out. I highly recommend Trade Guru in Venice to anyone looking for a quality used car at a good value. I'm delighted with my 'new' 2015 Jeep Patriot. More
