It arrived at the dealership with a significant ding/scratch and I was told by all three that I had to take the car since it was registered to me. First rule of thumb when you go to get your new car - look it over - if it isnt perfect DONT TAKE IT - dont sit in it dont start the ignition. I was lied to and taken advantage as a woman - they wanted me to get into the car and drive it - they way they wouldn't have to refund my money which they told me they could not get back. As soon as my finacee showed up the story changed...we CAN refund your money. Even before the new car got there they had no clue where it was - they didnt know if it was on a train or a truck. After all of this lying and absolutely poor customer service they had the nerve to question whether or not to compensate me with another car of the same (+$700 more in options) which was due in two weeks time. They decided to provide no compensation for all of the lying and hassle. Take my word and TAKE you money somewhere else! More
This dealer tried to screw me out of $1000. Basically I brought the car in 5 times for a squeaky noise coming from the clutch in my Toyota Tacoma over a 2 year period. The car was under warranty and they brought the car in 5 times for a squeaky noise coming from the clutch in my Toyota Tacoma over a 2 year period. The car was under warranty and they always just put some lubricant somewhere and it was OK for about a day and then it would come back just the same. Finally after the fifth time coming in and after the car was no longer under warranty they acknowledged that it was the throw out bearing in the clutch. They told me this required taking the clutch apart and replacing all the internal parts and putting it back together. They said it could NOT be done without replacing both clutch plates (complete lie) and it would cost $1000. Then I told them that I originally had the problem within the warranty 2 years prior to this time and they never fixed it so the warranty should cover the problem. So then they said "we'll cut you a deal and only charge you $700". I said "yeah right" and complained to Toyota Corporate who forced the dealer to fix the problem for free under the original powertrain warranty. So they replaced the throwout bearing but didn't do the clutch plates which they told me absolutely necessary when they thought I was going to be paying for it. Obviously that was a complete lie and I challenged them on it and they couldn't give me a straight answer. Finally when the survey from corparate was supposed to be sent to me the dealer slit the envelope and took the form out so I wouldn't get it. More
