My wife and I were looking for a 2022 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium in Lunar Rock. We stopped at Toyota of Warren back in March ready to start the process of obtaining one. Setup an appointment online with one of the Sales Managers. Walked in stated we had an appointment with a sales manager and got brushed off with a hand wave by whoever was at the main desk. As we were getting ready to leave, we were then greeted by Ryan. Ryan was very nice. We told him wat we wanted, and he said they would have to order one, it could be a while. We told him we were willing to wait as long as it took. So, my wife and I put a deposit down at this dealer to get us a 2022 Lunar Rock TRD Off Road Premium 4runner. Months went by then we finally got a call, we were next in line and our truck was ready, but it was black, not lunar rock. Stated we really wanted lunar rock and were willing to wait longer. We were given a story about allocations, only 30 4runners were allocated to over 100 dealerships and they were even lucky to get this black one. I once again stated we really wanted lunar rock and were willing to wait as long as it took. Was told that with the shortage, the chance of getting Lunar rock was next to impossible and if we wanted a 4runner this year, this was our best bet. Grudgingly and verbally agreed to the black truck, but it just didn’t sit right, it felt a bit like we were getting pushed to buy this truck. Three days later 2 lunar rocks show up as in transit to Toyota of Warren on their website. Called to ask about the Lunar Rock trucks and how they got them if they only had one allocated? We got the song and dance about how they must have been ordered before ours, but our black truck should be in in 3 - 4 weeks. The next 3 to 4 weeks we kept thinking about this, something just didn’t feel right. Just felt if we were next in line and were willing to wait, why couldn’t we have had one of the later lunar rock trucks. Asked the dealer about this and never got a clear answer. They must have been this or that, the story kept changing. After a couple weeks, this just really didn't sit well with us. We then called to cancel the order. I knew there was a chance of not getting the deposit back, and lesson learned, never put a deposit on a car until they have it in stock. First, I was told the deposit would be refunded and gave them my CC# again. Later that day I was called back and told we were not able to cancel, our truck came in today (along with the 2-lunar rock one's mind you). I said we were not buying the black truck and since they could not get us lunar rock like we asked for, we would like to cancel. We were informed that they would not be refunding the deposit. We were then told that they would out of courtesy cancel the black truck and would get us one in lunar rock (after being told multiple times that they probably wouldn’t be able to get one) We feel this was just very deceptive trying to make the sale and pressuring us into a truck we didn’t want. I kindly told the salesman that we would not be buying a truck from Toyota of Warren, and we would politely like to request a refund of our deposit. In the end this is not a dealer I want to do business with. After 3 days was told that the deposit on orders was non-refundable. Multiple lessons learned here. At the end of the day, the dealer got my deposit, and I am moving on, but will never do business with this dealer again. More
Everyone at Toyota of Warren was super helpful and nice during my time of purchase. Especially during the buying process cause there was a lot of factors in play to get what I wanted. I had gone to another Toyota dealership in my area and to be blunt they could have cared less about selling me a car. They had the car I wanted in stock but refused to give me even the lowest Kelly Blue boo be blunt they could have cared less about selling me a car. They had the car I wanted in stock but refused to give me even the lowest Kelly Blue book price on my loaded premier 2018 Equinox saying it needed tires. A friend told me to go to Toyota of Warren as she had recently purchased a RAV4 and Tony Montazeri had been the sales rep she worked with. On March 5, 2022 I met with Tony and was very impressed with him, his positive attitude and the entire dealership. They were slammed with customers; at the other dealership I had been in 2 days prior I was the only customer. At Toyota of Warren every sales rep had at least two customers from what I could tell. That day Toyota of Warren offered me what I considered a fair price for my trade and I ordered the car I wanted. I had to wait nine weeks & 2 days for it to be built & delivered from Princeton, IN but it was worth it. I love the car. I was treated with respect and felt valued as a customer. I would recommend Toyota of Warren to any and everyone thinking of buying a Toyota. More
