My horrible buying experience Beware of this location I would like to share my horrible buying experience at this dealer .. I’ve had my 18 Camry for about 3 weeks now. I came to the dealership with what I I would like to share my horrible buying experience at this dealer .. I’ve had my 18 Camry for about 3 weeks now. I came to the dealership with what I though was a preapproval had never purchased here before. I had spoken with a salesman over the phone about what I was looking for. He seemed knowledgeable over the phone and ask me to come in while I didn’t plan on putting anything down I did explain this when I came he advised me we need to do a soft pull just to see how the preapproval works out and with your current loan it won’t hurt your score (was the first lie) until later seeing like 6 different financial institutions trying to fund my purchase. He came to me and advised “looks like we can get you what you want with no money down let’s look for a car” so I did... I selected a car and test drove it...when we returned financed changed things asking for money down due to my vehicle (17 Camry) being upside down way to much for me so I declined the deal and left a little annoyed because the preapproval really wasn’t one but I didn’t know this yet. The following day finance called and made a negotiation on the down payment I could do... while they had told me my salesman would follow up. When I reached him ... he knew nothing about them calling .. that’s odd i though so I gave him a brief run down and he gave down payment options i also had rims and tires on my previous car (17 Camry) I wanted to keep he strongly advised we will get them off and swapped for you no problem ( this I was adamant about) I repeated this about 1 million times throughout the buying process I had also advised I need to head to work the day of getting the car by 12:30 so I was usually there very early .. how early can we do paper work he advised come in at 8:30 we’ll all be here you’ll finish paperwork in about 45 mins and can leave I said “ok great!” He called the next day early asking can you come at 9:30 they’re not in yet while on my way I’m like “uuughh ok” got there and was ready to start low and behold nothing’s ready the payments options I was given ended up not being valid so I had to make other forms of payment while different managers continued to come in the office and question why I would not pay in certain form as it wouldn’t hurt me as if the money was coming from their pockets this left me uneasy.. I was offered window tint all these other features and perks that came with the car upfront that I agreed on and a price .. at almost an hour before having to leave for work I said “ I have to go, I thought this would be done” the salesman ran me to the car helped me transfer my things told me “I’ll get you mats for it when you come tomorrow” “and my rims” I said he said “yes” .. the next day I called to confirm getting my rims and low and behold I was a nobody again just that fast ... he wasn’t even at work he text me saying “ oh we won’t be able to do that you’ll have to set an appointment for that and they’ll get you in and it’ll be a small charge” .. I had also received a call from finance saying I forgot to sign a document when in all actuality the deal had changed... I was furious and told the salesman I would not be paying for anything as I had already done enough and was on my way there and reaching out to the GM at the same time. After getting with finance he began to tell me that I wouldn’t be getting tint lots of the things I chose because they wouldn’t fit in my loan but instead he wanted me to keep the warranties jack my payment higher to what I paid for my previous car to make his cut “I advised are you serious why would I pay the same amount for a car that I paid for the old one the goal was to go lower” he stated it wouldn’t be any different that’s what you’ve been paying and you can get tint across the street“ I though this was ridiculous to even do business this way “I told him I wanted nothing but gap he insisted you should keep this and this and this it only changes the payment a little” I ended up leaving a manager came to me he heard about my tires took my keys and said he’d have it taken care of but I’d have to come back the next day visit # 3 to get them. By this time I wanted to speak with a higher authority.. the manager of sales called as I emailed the GM who has yet to respond about this .. I let him know everything he agreed it was m very bad refilled my tank for the many visits paid for my tint ( well set an appointment to come another day another unpleasant experience) had a new salesman teach me about my 18 Camry as mine told me nothing and made sure I got my mats. I appreciated him until I found out he only helped so this review wouldn’t go up .. they asked me to return for my rims ... they advised we will get them to you in a bit I got there at about 6 service asked if I could come back the next day I said “NO” I’ve done this to many times he said “ ok give me until 8:30 I said “ ok but it’s a school night I can’t be here all night he “said “well get it done” I returned a little after 8:30 to no rims and tires and ended up leaving at almost 10 smh. I then had to set up a tint appointment with the same horrible salesman...he set me up for 7:30am ....I’m thinking this would be done before I went to work because I was there at 7:30 am they told me it could be after 11 I said “I can’t do this then I have to work, I didnt think it would take this long “ they advised we can Uber you home and Uber you back I agreed so that I could get ready for work before my car was done .. as I get in the Uber the driver says “you bring your car here?” I said “well I just purchased one here” he replied “they are awful I’d never come here” as we laughed I told him “ I’m just now figuring this out” while getting home just before hitting 11 I decided to call as I hadn’t heard anything and had to be to work by 12:30 service advised we are not done yet we’ll bring you back to get a rental got there at almost 12 it took them forever to set up the rental in term I was late to work from a 7:30 AM tint appointment... the manger asked me to let him know if I EVER had any other problems but it was clear he wanted to wash his hands with the situation as well here’s my last text to him as he provided his personal cell for a memorable experience I guess.... Text message first I would like to say A BIG thank you for getting everything taken care of for me .. I remember seeing you this morning a little after 8 I brought my car in a little after 7:30 for my Tint appointment thinking that I'd be done by 11 from what was said .. I was Ubered home and hadn't heard anything a little after 11 so I called as I told them I need to be to work by 12:30 .. car was still not finished from 8 am so I was ubered back advised they'd have a rental .. long story short the rental wasn't ready so I had to waited for that and ended up leaving at 12:15 in term being late to work which is huge for me.. from a 7:30 am appointment... thanks again for the service just thought you'd like to know.. His reply: Thank you, and I'm sorry we didnt follow through with the time frame promised. Make sure and say hello when you come back for service, enjoy the car! I will Never buy a car from this place EVER again!!! More
By far the best dealership Out of all the dealerships I've ever dealt with this is by far my favorite place to shop/buy a new or used vehicle. Everyone has WONDERFUL customer service and extremely nice sales people. Yousef was my salesman and he is someone I highly recommend you seeing. There aren't many salesmen who take the time and help he provided. I went to a couple Toyota dealerships including a Honda dealer in the area and NONE compare to Toyota of Tampa Bay. Jon the sales manager was very helpful to do what he could to get my deal where I needed it. And Danielle (finance manager) was the absolute best Finance manager I've ever had the pleasure to sit and talk with. She had me in and out all while chit chatting, she really made me feel welcome, at ease and like part of the Toyota of Tampa Bay family. Outstanding job ALL!!! More
