We had been considering a new Prius for awhile as we continued to see gas prices increase and our monthly expense for gas conitinue to go up. My wife had seen an offer on HSN for a $1000 Shell gas card continued to see gas prices increase and our monthly expense for gas conitinue to go up. My wife had seen an offer on HSN for a $1000 Shell gas card through Toyota if we purchased a new Prius or Camery Hybrid. We thought now was the time to make the purchase as gas pricing have been increasing again daily. We contacted Halterman's and made an appoint to come with Stephanie. When we arrived we spoke with Jose who showed us the Prius and took us for a test drive an with an hour had purchased the car. Everyone was very helpful and professional. We could not pick up the car until Wednesday evening and Jose was not able to be there but Kevin Concannon stepped up and helped us complete the process. More
I have been in my share of Dealerships, to be honest my experiences in dealerships have never wowed me, the cold "I want you in this vehicle". Blah blah blah. Haltermans Toyota was the first dealership tha experiences in dealerships have never wowed me, the cold "I want you in this vehicle". Blah blah blah. Haltermans Toyota was the first dealership that actually made me feel important. Eric Goodwine went above and beyond to get me in the vehicle i wanted. I highly recommend Eric and this Dealership. Top notch service and salesmen. Eric continued to work on my deal even though it didn't look like it could happen. Nothing but honesty and really making me feel good. I drove over an hour to look at a vehicle I was interested in with the expectation that if we liked it, we would bring it home that same day. We did like the vehicle but there was a crack in the re interested in with the expectation that if we liked it, we would bring it home that same day. We did like the vehicle but there was a crack in the rear bumper and the bumper extension was broken. Jose was more than helpful stating that they could have it fixed and ready to go by noon the next day. He also had Mark look at the damage and both agreed it would be taken care of. We drove back the next day and saw that the repair had been made to the crack in the bumper cover. It was not really a quality repair since the cover wasn't taken off but it was filled from the outside and airbrushed to match the finish,but it seemed acceptable. Jose informed me he would order the bumper extension and have it mailed to me. I asked about the owners manual since there wasn't one in the vehicle. He promised he would get one from another vehicle and mail it with the extension. At this point, the experience seemed fine. I waited almost 2 weeks and didn't hear from anyone, so I happened to be working in the area and stopped by see if the part was in and I could take it with me. Jose was not in at this time so I was directed to a manager in the service area who said they had the part but it needed to be painted. He told me they would mail it in the next day or so. I waited another week and still heard nothing so I called again and spoke with Matt. He seemed very concerned and said he would check on it. He put me on hold and when he returned he said the part was in the box and waiting for UPS to pick it up. I asked about the owners manual. He said Jose told him the manual was mailed separately. A few days later, I received the box with the extension and the manual. The manual was from a 2009 vehicle and the one I purchased is a 2010. the extension looked very good. I attempted to install the extension that evening only to find the bumper to have a large tear along the mounting area under the extension. It then became clear that an the impact to the extension area pushed back on the cover creating the crack in the rear of the cover that was repaired as well as the hidden tear. I called Matt again yesterday who put me in touch with Jose. He said the owners manual is the same for most years. I can't say for sure ,but again, I purchased a 2010 vehicle and was expecting a 2010 manual. I asked about the bumper cover because I don't believe a tear such as this one can be repaired correctly. He replied, " I can't help you". I then asked for the manager. He told me the manager was in training. I asked him to have the manager call me back. A few minutes later, Mark called. I explained the situation with the bumper cover. I explained what I saw and that I don't think it can be repaired correctly. He said he is not buying a bumper cover and that he lost money on this deal. I told him that the damage was on the vehicle before I purchased it and at the point of sale, he agreed to repair the bumper. At this point, only the visible damage was repaired. I asked him to take the vehicle to the dealerships body shop but he refused. He reluctantly told me to drop it off next Tuesday and he will have his bumper guy look at it. At this point, I am completely frustrated with the experience at your dealership. What started out well is now making me think I never should have made a deal until the entire bumper was repaired to satisfaction. I was offended when Mark Leighton said he lost money on the deal. If he lost money, he can buy the vehicle back! Before the sale, both he and Jose were more than willing to help in any way and after the sale, they don't want to be bothered. Well I am bothered by this. I am also in the customer service field and I know you don't treat customers this way. I will not be satisfied until the bumper cover is repaired correctly and not by someone who does fly in fly out lot repairs. It really needs to be looked at by a body shop professional. I would like to be your biggest promoter ,but until this issue of the bumper cover and the owners manual is resolved, I plan on being your biggest detractor. I will be dropping the vehicle off at the dealership next Monday evening. By the time I drop it off,drive home, back to pick it up again, I will have over 4 hours of drive time alone, not to mention the expense. Tell me, who is losing money? More
