Typically my experience with this dealership service center is not problem. Today, I had a scheduled oil change, 40,000 mile check and transmission flush. When I scheduled the appointment the scheduler center is not problem. Today, I had a scheduled oil change, 40,000 mile check and transmission flush. When I scheduled the appointment the scheduler told me the visit would be approx.1.5 hours. At this time I asked if there was wi-fi available. She told me yes. Due to this response, I told her I would stay for the visit and work on my computer. When I got to the service department and started to work on my laptop I was not able to connect to the wi-fi. After asking and speaking with 3-4 service personnel to determine the wi-fi password I was left to sit with no internet connection. No one seemed to know the password. Everyone they gave me didn't work. This would not have been a problem, but I was told this was available. I lost 1.5 hours of work and my schedule for the day was disrupted. I find it hard to believe a large dealership does not have internet connection that works for its customers in this day and age. Unacceptable! More

I was a first time car buyer and absolutely terrified of shopping for a car. Previously, I'd commuted with my mother, but since she got into a car accident last week (she's relatively fine now), it became shopping for a car. Previously, I'd commuted with my mother, but since she got into a car accident last week (she's relatively fine now), it became vital for me to have a car of my own. Besides, it was time; I am 22 years old, about to go out on my own. I needed a car that was inexpensive in both the short and long term, reliable, got great gas mileage, and was preferably stick-shift. Add to that my wish list of heated seats, A/C, and a CD player, and I was set to look for a car. I decided (among some other ones) to test drive a 2010 Toyota Yaris, and, having heard good things about Haltermans, I decided to try it out. I scheduled via the internet department to test drive the car. When I got there, my name was on a whiteboard as an appointment, which was extremely welcoming, and I was introduced to Luis as my salesguy. He asked me what I wanted in a car, why I was looking at the Yaris, my needs vs my wants, and was understanding about the fact that I was going to see a different dealer that afternoon for another test drive. We drove both the stick and the automatic versions of the Yaris, with Luis giving me great information and making me feel very comfortable while I was trying out the car. I needed to leave to keep my appointment with the other dealer, which he encouraged even though he felt pressured to make the sale right then. ("If I was the 'other guy' in this situation, I'd want you to give me a shot," he explained.) The other salespeople there were friendly and conversational, even though I wasn't their client and they wouldn't get the commission even I ended up buying from Haltermans. I drove at the other dealership and my experience didn't even come close to what Haltermans provided, so I went back--this time to test drive the Yaris in heels on the highway. The dealership respected my desire to be thorough and even allowed me to drive it to work and bring it back afterwards so that I could get to work on time (I went during my lunchbreak). The very next day, I went back to purchase the car after getting car insurance for the vehicle. Now, my credit score was middle of the pack, but being a new professional and only at my job 2 weeks, financing was a bit of a concern. I'd already been turned down for 2 loans from PNC & USAA, so I was beginning to panic over whether I could get this car financed at all. They came through for me, $20 under the monthly payment I'd said was my max limit with $500 less down than I'd originally intended and an APR lower than what the other dealer had quoted me. They walked me through all the paperwork, and as I sat at the little table, staring at my keys and trying to grasp that I was a new car owner, everybody--the sales guys, the financing guys, the cleaner guys--they all came to congratulate me and chat about my anxieties and excitement. I love the car--my mechanic was practically worshipful when describing the car--and I would definitely recommend them AND ESPECIALLY LUIS to anyone out looking for a car, used or new. :) More
The people very personable, easy to work with. Carlos being new did his best to accommodate my wife and I needs before during and after the sale of our new 2013 Avolon XLE which we really like. I really appreciate the fact that he was not 'pushy'; he is very knowledgeable and loves his job- helping people find the best cars for the best deals. If my experience could always be this way as it was with Halterman's I will always buy Toyota. Doug and Ron are great assets to this company. The uncertainties we had, he was able to reasure us that it will be worked out. He took us out on a test drive, which helped us realize the vehicle best suited for our family. From start to finish we could not have had a more cheerful and adept sales consultant. He was extreamly cognizant of the vehicles we were inquiring about. We would definately recommend him and Halterman's Toyota to friends and family. More
