I usually avoid purchasing a used vehicle from a dealership & when I say "avoid", I mean like the plague! My experience with dealerships was always: overpriced, pushy salesmen & money before the needs of the buyer. David Banis has changed my opinion of doing business with a dealership. He listened to what I needed & what I could afford. He showed me what he had available with my needs in mind & never once tried to steer me into something I couldn't afford. He was professional & patient. He gave me as much history of the vehicle as he knew & addressed my concerns & answered my questions. The purchasing process was incredibly easy. Not once, but twice, he contacted my insurance company for me to check how my premiums would be affected & get the policy info needed to complete the sale (as I had forgotten a copy of my insurance card). The car already appeared to be very clean, but as I waited for the sales paperwork to be completed, David had the service department "touch up" the car again - to the point where I could not tell the difference between it and the new vehicle parked beside it. David was the complete opposite of the stereotypical car salesman - making sure I was completely happy & comfortable with my purchase. Because of my experience, I will gladly recommend Toyota of Southern Maryland to my friends & colleagues & tell them to look for David. Thank you David - your compassion & integrity will get you far & I hope Toyota appreciates you! More
After visiting 1-2 other Toyota dealerships, we came to Toyota of So. Maryland and were pleasantly greeted by Robbie Anderson. We continued to communicate with Robbie while visiting various other Toyota dealerships as well. However, none of the other dealerships matched the customer service or trade in value that we received by Toyota of So. Maryland. We called Robbie back and asked if he could get us a particular color that was not available. He researched it and had it delivered within 24 hours. We were very pleased! Although we did not purchase on our first visit, or the second even, Robbie remained professional, personable, and extremely helpful. He represented Toyota in an excellent manner!! In fact, everyone we interacted with was extremely pleasant and professional! We are now the proud owners of a 2013 "sizzling crimson" Toyota Avalon! We will definitely recommend Robbie and Toyota of Southern Maryland to our friends and family! More

Typically, buying cars can be a very stressful experience, especially while on a budget, but Richard made the experience pleasurable. He is a very devoted and hard working salesman who is very knowledgable and honest regarding car specifics. He devoted much time to finding a variety of cost-efficient reliable cars in my price range and also gave me a great trade in price on my previous car. I ended up getting a brand new car that exceeded my expectations and was well within my price range. Richard did a fantastic job and I plan on referring friends and family to him in the future! While making my purchase, I worked with Ronnie from the finance department. He was very thorough when explaining packages available, warranty conditions, options, etc. and was pleasure to work with. I ended up changing my mind about a package after he completed paperwork, which resulted in him having to redo some of the documents. While some individuals may have reacted in frustration or tried to talk me back into my initial decision in a similar situation, Ronnie did not respond in this manner. Instead, he was very understanding, patient, and had no problem drafting new paperwork in order to fit my needs. He took his time in explaining all paperwork and even stayed after close to ensure I was satisfied with all financial aspects of my purchase. More

When the car was ready for delivery to us, he carefully demonstrated every feature to include programming our cell phones into the car for us. David is a true professional and very dedicated to being the customer's advocate and representative. David's performance in assisting us could not be improved upon. Historically my husband and I have found the car buying experience to be unpleasant. That was not the case this time. We found both David and Reggie to be a pleasure to work with. David, my salesman, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He answered all my silly questions, and was very patient with me. Even when I almost changed my mind TWICE on the model I eventually chose, David was extremely willing and eager to take me on as many test drives I wanted. He was very accommodating to my needs, and offered his much needed opinions. Words cannot express how grateful I am that I happened to stumble across this absolutely amazing salesman!! I have bought many new cars in my 58 years, but this experience has renewed my faith in car salesmen, as well as the seamless financing department. In the past, I have cringed when I had the unpleasant chore of finding and negotiating a new car deal. I am pleasantly surprised to have a new opinion on the new car buying process. This dealership should be proud of their excellent salesman and financing department . I applaud them!! More
Erik Thompson indicated they had good credit programs - not. He stated he would meet me at a specific time and he went home - showed me that I was not an important potential customer. I completed the credit application on-line and then the Salesman had me complete another. David Banis, Salesman, was coy, obnoxious, disrespectful, and unknowledgeable. He did not communicate well at all. He stated that my credit score was in the low 400’s – not! They do not give good trade value, either. David gave me his card – it went out the window when I left the dealership! This event occurred on Friday, May 17, 2013. Monday, May 20, 2013, I am driving a fully loaded 2013 Ford and I got 3.9% financing! Shame on this dealership to treat potential customers the way they do! Do yourself a favor and if you want a Toyota – go somewhere else other than Southern Maryland Toyota! Go American – buy a Ford! Follow-Up: On May 23, 2013 at approximately 9:15 am,Ted Bailey, Customer Relations Manager at the Toyota of Lexington Park, did speak with me about this incident. He offered me an apology. He further stated that the Salesman will be going through some retraining and has been pulled from the Sales Floor. Because, I have already purchased another vehicle from another dealership there was nothing that he can do for me other than to say he was sorry for the incident. My response: I apprecaite the apology. It saddens me that these two Toyota Employees treated me the way they did. If they have done it to me, I am certain they have done it to others, too. I still say, shame on this dealership! More
