I bought a used Camry here, after doing a lot of research, on both the dealer and the actual car. After test driving, I decided to buy it. During the negotiating process, they asked me THREE times i research, on both the dealer and the actual car. After test driving, I decided to buy it. During the negotiating process, they asked me THREE times if I wanted an alarm system installed for $800. I kept telling them no. So I finally get the car, but they only gave me the sub-key. I didn't notice until I got home that I had no other keys, or remote, in the package. Returned next day, and was told that there were no other keys, or remote. That seemed a bit odd to me, as the previous owner had kept the car in pristine condition, that there were no master keys (the car is supposed to have two) or remote. They told me, "it happens." So I went and got two copies made of the key I did have. I found out later that if I tried to open my trunk with the sub-key they gave me, the alarm went off! The alarm I declined paying $800 extra for. It was already installed, it had been installed by the previous owner. I had to go back to the dealer to get a remote, since I could not find one online, because I did not know what series alarm system I had, and didn't know how to work it. It was armed, and I had no way of resetting it, and no way to get in the trunk from outside the car. Every time I went back to the dealer, they insisted I had to contact the salesman, but he had given me a phone number that was a disconnect, and was located down the street. Both times I went up there, I had to wait until they contacted him, then was told he was busy, so then I could state my needs. I just wanted a simple answer both times: 1. Was there another key or remote? and 2. How do I work the alarm system (which I was told it did not have, and declined paying $800 extra for) I ended up having to pay over $100 for a remote (and to get it programmed) for an alarm system I did not want, just so I could disarm it and get into my trunk. The whole thing left me feeling like I was being lied to: that they were trying to get me to pay $800 for an alarm (that was already installed), and when I declined, they kept the remote. The guy in parts was really nice and helpful, but the service managers were just short of being outright rude. ------------------------------------------- Update: I received a call from Brian Johnson, the Used Car Manager, who listened to my concerns, apologized, and offered me another master key and another remote, free. He stated that his purpose was to make sure that all customers are satisfied. I was impressed by the follow-up and by his offer to make things right. So I am upgrading my review. If you are in the market for a used car, they do have good quality cars, and if you have a problem, contact Brian Johnson, the Used Car Manager, and he will take care of it. More
This Dealer has a sub-par service facility that is not properly sized for the volume of customers they experience. A recent express oil-change/routine inspection took four hours. If you intend to wait properly sized for the volume of customers they experience. A recent express oil-change/routine inspection took four hours. If you intend to wait for your vehicle it is like visiting a dealer of yore where you wait in cramped quarters, wander the showroom -grounds, or take a hike. Unpleasant enough experience that I don't want to repeat, even if must drive to Tacoma or Chehalis. I'm told a new service facility is in the works. Let's hope it ultimately measures up to many other, better Toyota service experiences that I have had with dealers in Oregon and Virginia. More
This is your typical stealership that will say anything to sell you a car. They played the waiting game with me so I was there for hours longer than I should have been. They do this to get you mentally inv to sell you a car. They played the waiting game with me so I was there for hours longer than I should have been. They do this to get you mentally invested i it to make it harder for you to leave without buying a vehicle. The finance guys try everything in the book to get you to buy an extended warranty, protectants, etc. They try to make you feel like an idiot for not financing an extended warranty that doesnt even begin until the factory warranty ends. When that doesnt work they try to lay a guilt trip on you. It reminded me of that scene in the movie Fargo. The whole thing was insulting. If you really want an extended warranty, there are dealerships in other states that will sell you the same warranty for less than half the price that these guys are asking. A quick google search will save you a ton of money. To be fair, none of this is unique to this dealership. Its all pretty standard when buying a new car. I probably wouldnt have bothered to rate this dealer except i have a cosmetic part on my vehicle that came damaged and they refused to replace it. Probably a $20 part. I just went to a different dealer to have my problems fixed. No arguing or begging was required. Why is that? Probably because they want to be the next dealer to have an opportunity to try and sell me an extended warranty...... More
Recently purchased a used vehicle and didn't even drive 60 mi until the check engine light came on. There's certain things that dealerships are supposed to check before sending the auto out. After 2 tries 60 mi until the check engine light came on. There's certain things that dealerships are supposed to check before sending the auto out. After 2 tries, I finally got the "work done" list but never what they checked. My salesman was good but not available. I called service to have them check the light and had to get forceful saying yes, it's a used vehicle but I didn't even get 60 miles before this came on. There's just certain times the dealer should offer to at least look at it if only for their reputation. I had to insist and say I am not paying for this check. Took well over an hour to get "it's the o2 sensor. Well over an hour. I've since been told they know the problem in minutes. I was told by service, the part will be ordered and taken care of. OK, great. I went 1 week, heard nothing. Sent a text to my salesman and he wasn't aware of but went forward with this. I now have a recorded voice mail and text message saying the GM was ordering the part and going to fix for me. Now it's over 2 weeks later and I've heard nothing except "fax me your insurance coverage please" just this week. My response. "Sure when I get my service appointment scheduled!" I said 2 weeks to order an o2 sensor, NOT unless it was from Japan. Still nothing. This week I learned a friend, a shop teacher has been arguing with them for two years over something they say is not happening. He's gone to video taping his starts to prove the problem. For me, I would never again deal with Toyota of Olympia. Their customer service stinks. If you can't expect someone to follow through what is left in voice message and text to help their customer, a minor fix, then NOT interested. And no, I'm not faxing the insurance papers. The lender has them. More

They were very fair and honest. Great experience in comparison to the other toyota dealer that I had visited. We were there for only about 1.5 hrs to purchase a new prius and they did exactly what the comparison to the other toyota dealer that I had visited. We were there for only about 1.5 hrs to purchase a new prius and they did exactly what they said that they would do. Very low pressure and I appreciate that. I will definitely buy from them again. I buy many vehicles over the course of the year as a Purchasing Director for a Oil & Gas Exploration company. So I have delt with many, many salespeople and dealerships across the United States. It is a Purchasing Director for a Oil & Gas Exploration company. So I have delt with many, many salespeople and dealerships across the United States. It is a rare occurance when you run into the 'perfect storm'. Heidi at Toyota Of Olympia showed superior service, knowledge and understanding of all the aspects of our purchase. She was very attentive to our needs and always willing to help find solutions to any problems. I can tell she must be a great leader at Toyota Of Olympia by the way she involved others in the solving of our concerns and then constently following up with us to make sure we were happy and sastisfied with our purchase. She should be an example of how to treat a customer to all of your other employees. The all around Toyota of Olympia was a great one and we will be back purchasing trucks from you again and again. Spent two hours on the internet to find a new 2011 Prius to take advantage of Toyota's financing offer. The only one within a 35 mile radius with the options I wanted was at this dealer. Called and spoke to take advantage of Toyota's financing offer. The only one within a 35 mile radius with the options I wanted was at this dealer. Called and spoke with Jeremy to confirm the car was still available and made an appointment to look at the car the next day. At 4:15 pm was 60 miles away and drove through two hours of rush hour traffic to keep my appointment. Walked in and was told the car had sold that morning and was told they tried to contact me. I received two calls from the dealership confirming the appointment and no others so I have proof this was a lie. Classic bait and switch. Why do business with a company that still employs these old sales tactics when there are many honest dealers to choose from. Stay away from these people Update Brian Johnson called to follow up on my initial review. He researched the car and found that it had sold. He offered to sell me any Prius on the lot for $500 under invoice. He also promised to talk to the salesperson about the situation. No way to verify if that actually happened but I note that the car is no longer shown on the dealer website. My negative review got their attention and they responded. That shows that at least they care about their online reputation. I have revised my review to neutral. More
This dealership is over priced on parts and service worth the drive up to Tacoma to save a few bucks especially during this time. I have had to price check them on several things. You can't tell me parts in the drive up to Tacoma to save a few bucks especially during this time. I have had to price check them on several things. You can't tell me parts in other areas are more expensive then others. Sorry Olympia is not LA or NY City. More
I must write about the great service I get at Toyota of Olympia. I have owned many new vehicles, and been in many new car service departments. This is one of the two best ever. (the other is Hanson Subaru Olympia. I have owned many new vehicles, and been in many new car service departments. This is one of the two best ever. (the other is Hanson Subaru around the corner) They are a well organized team, and I mean TEAM in that everyone is obviously working together. They are really serious about taking good care of you. I feel like part of the family. One time, the service manager, Brian, fixed a problem he could have delegated. But no, he looked at it, consulted his team members, and then got the necessary supplies and fixed it himself. Its clear he's setting the standard for his crew, and the bar is HIGH. I have dealt with Service Advisors Brock and Fred, Oil Service guys Jeremiah and John (as well as their crew) and they are all on it!! I have never taken the time to write such a review, but the superior service at Toyota Of Olympia, compels me to tell others. More
