Lies on top of Lies Let me list out the lies that I was told about my Toyota 86 in the same way I had to retell it to all my friends and family: 1) My sales associate Let me list out the lies that I was told about my Toyota 86 in the same way I had to retell it to all my friends and family: 1) My sales associate Syed would not provide me a quote on paper insisting I needed to "trust him or go somewhere else," even though EVERY dealership gave me a paper quote. I work a 9-5 and do not have time to waste driving to every dealership in the city without even an idea of what they want from me price-wise. Ever dealer gave me a paper quote no problem, but Syed was incredibly rude and insistent. 2) I ignored the rudeness and did show up to the dealership. When I arrived Syed looked at me exclaiming, "Yeah you're 23 right?" (No 24.) "Well trust is something you will learn with age. In time you'll learn to trust people. " Excuse me? 3) I arrived with Syed's word that the quote he gave me was for a vehicle with a high grade exhaust that I tested the day before. Right before signing, he tells me that the vehicle does not have the high grade exhaust, but the mid tier. 4) After I inquired about all fees before arriving, right before signing they show me the Toyota leasing fee that was never mentioned. 5) When I test drove the vehicle the second time, I noted that the exhaust sounded much lighter, which Syed chalked up to my speed. In reality, Syed sold me a car with no exhaust instead of the high tier I wanted and the mid tier I thought I was settling with. In reality, they had me drive the high grade exhaust the first time and hoped I wouldn't hear the change, and when I did he tried to convince me I was crazy. Even when i was suspicious that the exhaust wasn't listed in the paperwork, Syed assured me it was an after-market addition and that it wouldn't be listed. The only way I found out I was completely lied to was I called the dealership to find out what exhaust the car I drove had, and what was on my car. Charles maund had me test drive the high grade exhaust the first time, lied that it was a trd exhaust, and then lied again and gave me a car with a stock exhaust after I PAID for a trd exhaust. 6) After realizing this last lie I spoke the the dealership and demanded they make amends for all the lies or I would have to get my money back. While the customer relations manager was very kind, the finance manager was tempermental and cut me off while I was trying to explain they could work on the price of the high grade exhaust car or add a minimal add on to my stock car...instead he rudely exclaimed they were very busy and pushed the paper on me to sign for my money back. He also argued that they were "doing me a favor" by letting me getting a refund. This was the last straw, and I fired back at him that since I left the car at the lot, according to Texas law they never successfully completed delivery of the vehicle and I was in my right to get my money back. All in all, Charles Maund Toyota was throughly unprofessional, sexist, and ageist. They assumed since I was a young woman I wouldn't notice or fight back against all of the lies about my sports car and accept the inappropriate behavior showed to me. They should be ashamed of themselves, not only for the customer service failures, but that they didn't do enough to recover from them. I work in marketing and I know that you cannot control one person's misconduct all the time. However, I gave Charles Maund ample time to respond to Syed's ageist comments and the misinformation I was told, and even a chance to recover from the complete lie about my exhaust in the end. They did nothing but fail every time. After this I had a SUPERB experience at Toyota Autonation South Austin. It's better to bike around Austin than to work with Charles Maund Toyota. They are the reason people hate car salespeople and are singlehandedly ruining the Toyota brand in Texas. If I didn't know any better, I would have left Toyota all together because of this dealership.. More
Wow. Just wow. We were Harvey evacuees and had no car when our friends helped us get out of town. We were in the process of getting a vehicle prior to the evacuation, but with that going on we figured we might as well get the vehicle while in Austin. I reached out to Malia via e-mail as we had no charger on hand and our phone batteries running low. She was quick giving me the information i needed, and there was absolutely zero haggling (in a good way) and zero "dealer-dance" a.k.a "Let me speak to my manager." Took three e-mails to narrow down my price, took a Lyft ride to their dealership, she had the two trucks we wanted to look at already waiting. Once we made our choice, an hour, that's all it took, an hour to get through all the paperwork, car prep and generally hanging out at their lobby (free popcorn anyone?). If only all car dealerships were like this, and if only there was a Malia in every one of them, dealerships wouldn't get the reputation they tend to have. I also have to give kudos to their finance person - Major, for breezing us right though. No hard sell on anything either! Overall an A+ (plus!) experience. Though a hundred or so miles away from where we live, i know where we're getting our next Toyota from. :) More

Efficient I made the decision on my lease on Monday afternoon after visiting the dealership and had the car by Monday night. I have owned or leased at least 25 cars (previously owned a courier business in NJ) so this was not my first rodeo. Everyone was helpful and knew I was not there to test drive,etc. or interested in wasting their time or mine. It was strictly a financial decision. The car was well detailed and Jon Porterfield reviewed the instrumentation in a timely manner. I would return for another lease as I have found Toyotas to be reliable and easy to maintain. More
