Purchased a 2014 XLE Highlander w/ 72k miles from a local dealer (non-Toyota) roughly 5 weeks prior to bringing it in on 2/3/24. Still got stuck with the $180 inspection charge even though I said it’s leaking. They state they found “other safety issues”. Again, no documentation to back up the claims. Takes 3 weeks to get my vehicle back. They left it in the rain for 1/2 a day with torrential rain. I schedule a time and I came by to inspect my vehicle with the tech (no show that day) and caught my vehicle soaked and water inside. Got my vehicle back 3 weeks later. Repairs were made to my vehicle before I gave authorization because I asked to see the sunroof assembly tested prior to replacement. No call that work had began. Mike, the service director sent me a email with a video, but I wanted to see in person, no call or text. I get my vehicle back. No one inspects it prior to me taking it. I get it home and go to inspect and the middle row driver side seat is covered in mold (I have pictures) (pregnant wife drove it home. I leave a message with the general manager. No body is ever in their office, no one returns calls. This was my second VM with the manager. File claim with Toyota corporate and no one calls back in the 2-3 business day xx they give you (2nd claim with them). I take the old assembly home and can’t get it to leak. Finally does when I tip it back (it leaks through the groove for the belt the moves the glass) which is not a “crack” because that’s the design. The tape for the seal in the rear of the assembly still had the plastic over the double sided tape which indicates it wasn’t sealed properly from the factory. Service bulletins from 2015 indicate there were multiple issues with the pano sunroofs. Called Mike, he doesn’t want to hear my explanation and stands by their recommendation. I have had to abate my car for the mold. And on 3/5/24 the leak has returned! Rain all day and over 1/4”+ of water in the rear. Both left and right headliner above rear side glass is soaked. I can see the water this time because the interior is gutted. I sealed the sunroof and sprayed the car (rain style) with the garden hose and no leaks. I have all video proof. Don’t trust this dealership! Beware! Unprofessional! No communication! Be prepared to leave VM’s left and right. No one’s in the office. Stories don’t add up! No follow up from mangers on leaving my car outside. Nothing! Do your own research and get second opinions. Don’t make a 4K dollar mistake to not fix the issue. More

Lino Lovrenovic's demeanor represents this dealership impressively. He was extremely knowledgeable about the availability of inventory, particulars about the vehicle we were considering and he made sure that acquisition process was clearly understood. At no time was there an inkling of pressure. Although the vehicle of interest was already clean, he had it detailed for absolutely immaculate presentation. The paperwork process was smooth and taking delivery was more pleasurable than imagined. This experience is how buying a vehicle should transpire. It is the type of service that affirms the decision to pass other dealerships in order to reach and do business with Toyota of Murfreesboro. Selling us the truck is appreciated ... but the service is gratifying! It is truly inspirational to see such caliber of professionalism with emphasis on customer service. Toyota of Murfreesboro does not sell certified preowned cars. I purchased a used Cadillac Escalade for almost 100k. The truck wasn’t even clean when I arrived, when I was told that it was good to go. I had a list of error codes in which they had to take the truck to another dealership to clear the errors and not fix the issue. I found out while I was on the road with my family heading back to GA. All the errors came back up. No wonder they wanted to push us out. I called the agent and explained what happened and basically said I was on my own. That is my problem now. So much for the support. Luckily, I’m still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty they will fix the issues. I will never buy a vehicle there anymore! Hanson More
