Bought a 2017 Honda Civic a few months ago in 11/2020. Car and service was great. I had excellent customer service from all departments. Here's my issue. I bought the car out cash, during the paper work process in which I was talking to my Finance associate I was offered Permaplate. I originally declined, but I was told that if you don't end up using it or only use it once you can refund the full policy or a prorated amount at ANYTIME. So with that being said, I opted in to getting the policy, now about 3 weeks later I decided that I did not want nor have a need for it. I've called Toyota of Melbourne about once a week asking for my Finance associate and/or leaving voicemails to get back to me about cancelling this policy. Well after 3 months of calling for about once a week. I was told today (2/24/21) by another Finance associate that they do not refund that policy. Now this is a little concerning to me as the only reason I opted in to getting this policy was because I was told I can cancel and refund it if I didn't end up using it. We're talking about $700 here. So I am definitely not happy about this and will be contacting upper management for additional information as I was lied to for an upsale. More

Lo and behold he get to Toyota of Melbourne and the car already sold and you are nowhere to be found - classic sleazy car salesman move!! And you wonder why your industry gets a negative rap!!!! The least you could have done was to text either of us and let us know you or someone sold the car by mistake - it is not money but principle but I guess integrity and customer service is not taught in TOYOTA sales class - just play with the customer mind and play the classic bait and switch... in the middle of COVID19 putting our lives in danger! More

Update: Thank goodness Matt kept me in mind. Within just a few days, the a Hybrid Rav4 was found and we made a deal. Thanks Matt, thanks Toyota of Melbourne! Summary: Awesome sales associate. Wish we could have come to a deal. Long version: I went in to Toyota of Melbourne looking to buy a "Purple Unicorn." i.e. a hard to find vehicle for a great price. Matt Messer stepped up to the challenge. Not only did he show us a great vehicle that met the needs, he showed us a great alternative that was even better. He was knowledgeable about the various vehicles and was able and friendly. The one downside was we weren't able to come to a deal. I had a very specific budget in mind that I couldn't depart from and as hard as Matt tried to get there, it just couldn't happen. I understand why and have no problem with Matt or Toyota of Melbourne because of it. Wish it would have worked. Seems like they have a great team. More

Dealership was very petty when it came to my last service under my car warranty. I had only had my car for ~16 months trying to get the last covered service. I had been on a long interstate trip and was ou under my car warranty. I had only had my car for ~16 months trying to get the last covered service. I had been on a long interstate trip and was out of state when I hit the 25K mileage. Noone at Toyota had told me it had to be <26K for the last service and I was only a few hundred miles over. Instead of showing consideration for a multi-decade loyal Toyota customer they shut me out. I was expecting more respect and concern and them to cover this service. Not recommended for customer service. More
