Buyer beware: You expect to be taken advantage of when dealing with car dealerships and this location is no different. Immediately after my first visit, regret seeped in as advertised pricing was not hono dealing with car dealerships and this location is no different. Immediately after my first visit, regret seeped in as advertised pricing was not honored and the old bag of tricks and opaque pricing took over. I reluctantly exceeded my budget on a car lease due to my time sensitive transportation needs and the low supply of vehicles caused by the chip shortage just underway at the time. For such an expensive transaction, it would be enough to leave with a bad taste in your mouth. But on top of this, the sales rep botched the title registration which left me in possession of a vehicle with expired temp plates which you cannot legally drive or park, as I found out with $300 in tickets for parking on the street outside my place. The sales rep said he’d reimburse me for this which was a nice and very fair gesture had he followed up on this promise. In fact, he never even responded to my follow up messages and neither did his manager in the sales office. Absolutely zero accountability. And the handful of questions I had for the sales rep after driving off the lot were simply never answered. No “I’m not sure” or “I believe it works this way”. Nothing. Since leaving the dealership the very first day, I’ve been looking forward to returning this vehicle and never dealing with Toyota again. More
I'm not a review person, but my experiences with Toyota of Lincoln Park have driven me to the extremes. A short time ago, I felt obligated to post a terrible review due to a very bad experience (in short, of Lincoln Park have driven me to the extremes. A short time ago, I felt obligated to post a terrible review due to a very bad experience (in short, we bought a lemon). After reading our review, the general manager, Derek, responded in a way compelling me to leave a review highlighting the positive aspects of Toyota of Lincoln Park. Although our experience is not one we would like to repeat, Derek and our salesperson, Dustin, did everything they could to rectify the problem, offering a trade-in. I say this wholeheartedly and we cannot expect anything more than this. More

TO EVERYONE: you really do want to take the time to read this review!!!!! Disrespect, pushiness, lying, and sexism run rampant at Toyota of Lincoln Park. I want to give women who are reading this review this review!!!!! Disrespect, pushiness, lying, and sexism run rampant at Toyota of Lincoln Park. I want to give women who are reading this review a heads up: do NOT come to Toyota of Lincoln Park if your life depends on it. And, to men who support women, do not come here either. In September of 2021, my son and I started our search for a new car, pouring over and consulting dozens of car magazines and websites like Kelly Blue Book to find an affordable and well-made car. After weeks of intense research, we finally settled on a 2010 Toyota Camry that the Toyota of Lincoln Park dealership was offering. The make and model was- durable and affordable. Everything seemed to be going well and according to plan- little did we know that things were about to get ugly, real fast, in every sense of the word. First, our car salesman acted in an unbelievably unprofessional manner. He was extremely pushy- visibly angry when we attempted like any customer to negotiate for a better deal- and was a pathological liar. He tried repeatedly to sell us a “covid spray” that cost hundreds, and insisted multiple times that his “best man” had detailed the car, even though the car had litter in it and was visibly dirty. It was really insulting how he kept on insisting it had received a top-notch detail, as if he thought I was stupid or that because I’m a woman, he could bully me into acquiescing. But that’s what I did; I went along to get along, thinking that things could be worse. And, boy, was I right. To try to guard against future expenses- aware that, despite being assured they had conducted a thorough inspection of the car, lying is acceptable at Toyota of Lincoln Park- we bought a “carefree car insurance” package that cost $1300. The car cost over $12,000, so it was supposedly not a piece of junk. Everything seemed fine when we first bought the car in September; we checked everything out. But, when we actually began using the car, it all went to pieces. The radio broke down, the AC gave out, and the minute we began going over speed bumps, there was an obvious problem with what turned out to be the heat shield. Worst of all, the throttle sensor repeatedly stalled, preventing the car from moving. Furthermore, the car is making funny noises when it starts, and the brakes are clearly not in good condition, so we are anticipating further issues. This all happened within a 11 month period after buying the car. So, in less than a year, we had to take the car in at least 5 times to get it looked at. And, out of those 4 problems I mentioned, Toyota of Lincoln Park ONLY covered the cost of repairing the radio, which was arguably the cheapest to fix and the least important issue. The third or fourth time we went in, they “fixed” the AC, and it BROKE AGAIN less than a month later. Not only that, but the “carefree” insurance we bought DID NOT cover the AC (which was obviously broken when they sold us the car), the heat shield, or the throttle sensor, costing us over $1000 in repairs not even a year after purchasing this Toyota Camry. A Toyota Camry which, according to our research, was of a good make and model. So they obviously did not conduct a full car inspection prior to sale, CAUGHT IN ANOTHER LIE!!! To give credit where it’s due, Derek from the service department, did his best to assist us with all of these issues. But, since the insurance didn’t cover anything, and the mechanics at the service department do inadequate work, his best amounted to nothing. I do want to be honest; he did help us out for a couple of spare keys, which were greatly appreciated. After the 5th time going in for service and realizing that the insurance was useless, we decided to consult the service manager, Wayne Winkleman, leaving him a message. It took him 2 days to respond, and he gave us a 2.5-hour time frame to return his call. Since I was at work that day, I was unable to call by 4:30 pm. And that was it. We left Wayne FIVE MESSAGES in total and did not hear back from him again. More
