I wanted to commend James at Toyota of Lake City for his help and time while shopping for a car. Although I did not but a car from him at the time he was friendly and low pressure while helping me learn abo help and time while shopping for a car. Although I did not but a car from him at the time he was friendly and low pressure while helping me learn about multiple cars. He heard what I was saying and respected my time and needs for a car. He shared information that was VERY helpful to me but listened to what I was asking for! Also I had my daughter with me and he was very engaging and pleasant. Service was above and beyond! As we drove from our home in Corvallis, Oregon to Seattle on Friday, July 16, 2021, more and more lights started flashing on our car. By Saturday morning it wouldn't start and we were due to return home the next day. We were pretty desperate. We had it towed in and were told they were fully booked but they would do their very best to take care of us - and they did. Even though, being from out of town, we were obviously not going to be repeat customers, they went out of their way to get parts for us and even stayed late to get the work done. We were grateful beyond words. More
3 Hour Process - Left with Regrets We called ahead to see pricing on a used Prius and it seemed to go well so we told them we would be there in 45 minutes. They asked when we would arrive so they could have the car out front. When we got there they told us the car was in Kirkland and wouldn't be back for half an hour. 45 minutes later it showed up. We took it for a test ride and there was a definite but mild dog smell in it, so we negotiated the price down some and moved on. It took three hours betwen the time we stepped in door and closed the deal, and of course the costs of some small print items were higher than quoted over the phone. They detailed the car to try to get rid of the dog smell more and we drove it home. I can't clearly claim that the battery or engine had known issues to the dealership but about the fifth time I tried to start it, after not driving it for six days, it was completely dead. Looking back at the day we bought and the fact they had to drive it to Kirkland, I wonder if they knew it had issues that could be temporarily covered up by a nice long drive. Also, the car smell got worse within a week of the detailing, so it would make a lot of sense that they drove it to Kirkland with the windows open to try to hide the smell before our test ride. The whole process was uncomfortable and too many things were off for me to believe they are anything but dishonest. I called about the car not starting and they told me the manager would call back but he never did, so they probably checked their notes and realized it was better to avoid responding. Needless to say we will never do any business with them again. We had serviced our 2016 Prius with them for years but the relationship is over. More
Chas at Toyota of Lake City is the best sales person! He went the extra mile to find the exact car I was looking for. There was one out there with the right exterior color, but not the interior color that went the extra mile to find the exact car I was looking for. Just what I wanted! I had been looking for a "new" used 4x4 for the last few months. This was to be my primary vehicle, so I was really picky. I was on Craigslist daily. I had been looking for a "new" used 4x4 for the last few months. This was to be my primary vehicle, so I was really picky. I was on Craigslist daily. Occasionally I would visit a dealer site. I happened to look at Lake City Toyota, saw a Highlander listed that must have just come in. It said call for price, I hate that. I stopped in Memorial Day on my way to the cemetery and talked to Chris the GM. He found the Highlander and I checked it out. It hadn't been prepped or anything, but, I liked it. He made me an offer. A good offer. I drove it and decided that day to take it. Olie, the salesperson, worked with me to make sure this is what I wanted and to make sure things went smooth. There were some cosmetic issues, but, it is a used vehicle. They found one major thing that would have killed any profit they were going to make and I said to let it go. It's not a safety thing. Shay, in financing, who is great, worked with me on financing and I wound up with a better deal than either of my Credit Unions could do. Olie made sure I knew everything about my vehicle before I drove off the lot. She also got the owners manuals. 5 stars for Chris, Olie and Shay. I will recommend this dealer to others I know. More
