In my limited experience, it appears the acquisition has not affected service. Still friendly staff and good service. Cost $150 labor to do an oil change and replace a dead battery. I’ve been a customer at this dealership for over 11 years with no complaints. My recent appointment was scheduled through the Toyota of Kent website. The maintenance services selected were the “15,000 miles Toyota of Kent Recommended” and the “Synthetic Oil & Filter Change”. Note that Kent website. The maintenance services selected were the “15,000 miles Toyota of Kent Recommended” and the “Synthetic Oil & Filter Change”. Note that this website shows the “15,000 miles Toyota of Kent Recommended” includes: courtesy inspection, check belts/filters/fluids/hoses, rotate tires & set pressure, courtesy wash. On the day of my appointment, I arrived at the dealership about 15 minutes early to make sure there was enough time for check-in and discussion with the service advisor. The drive-through bays were clean and everyone was polite. The service advisor and I went over the work to be performed on my 4Runner, at which he made the comment that the tire rotation was free since I purchased the tires from them. I signed the paperwork and went into the dealership to wait. About 1 hour 30 minutes later, I saw my 4Runner coming into the drive-through bays. Seemed like a decent turn-around-time, but then I noticed the tire rotation was not done. A spider web in the tread of the left-hand rear tire that I had seen earlier in the day was still in the same place. Thinking maybe there were two of these, I went out and waked around to my 4Runner only to find some smudges (grease, oil, or sweat) on the paint as well. At this point I am not impressed. I went into the service office to find out what could be done about these issues, but the service advisor I had spoken with earlier was gone for the day. A second service advisor had my paperwork and looked-up the work to be performed. He promptly showed me that I signed-off on only the “Synthetic Oil & Filter Change” and that the “15,000 miles Toyota of Kent Recommended” was not on the paperwork. I am not sure how this happened because I had discussed the work to be performed with the original service advisor. As we continued our conversation, the second service advisor now tells me that he is the service manager and can get the tire rotation done quickly. I have no idea if either are true since he never introduced himself and I cannot see the service bays, but his combination of words and mannerisms raised a lot of concerns. Rather than dealing with more problems, I decided that I was done being there, paid my bill, and went to leave. When I opened the driver’s door of my 4Runner, I saw smudges (grease, oil, or sweat) on the door panel. I went into the service office and told the second service advisor about it. He came out to the drive-through bay to look and said it was just the lighting. Obviously, he was not interested in doing anything, so, I grabbed a blue shop towel from a roll in my 4Runner to wipe-off the door panel. Whatever was on the door panel left a brown substance on the blue shop towel like an oil or a grease would. Later in the day, I took care of the tire rotation myself and torqued the lug nuts on all four wheels to specification. Then I thought that I better double-check the oil change was done properly. When I pulled the dipstick, the oil was clean and the fill level was correct. When I looked underneath at the oil filter housing, I saw a puddle of oil in the skid plate and several greasy spots on the outside of it. After removing the skid plate, I checked that the oil filter housing as tight then cleaned-up the mess on the frame members and the skid plate. Then I reinstalled the skid plate and torqued its bolts to specification. Note that this is a Toyota skid plate sold as an option for a 4Runner. More
