What does appointment mean to Rice Toyota? I have been a loyal and satisfied customer of Rice Toyota since 2004 until recently. I made an appointment to have maintenance service and to purchas I have been a loyal and satisfied customer of Rice Toyota since 2004 until recently. I made an appointment to have maintenance service and to purchase a new set of tires on Thursday of last week. My appointment was for 10:15. When I arrived at the correct time, I was told it would be 3 to 4 hours, I had planned to wait on the car. I asked why so long to put on some tires and was told because of the tire sale there were lots of people in front of me. I said, no I made an appointment, again I was told there were so many people in front of me because of the tire sale. Needless to say after much discussion over what an appointment was, I left the dealership and purchased my tires elsewhere and they were installed in 30 minutes with no appointment. I asked the service clerk to please note on my records why I was leaving and purchasing my tires elsewhere. Over the next couple of days I received 3 calls saying I had missed an appointment and they would gladly reschedule for me. I would suggest Rice Toyota hire a few more mechanics and less call center people. Also when a person makes an appointment don't give someone his time slot. Not sure I will go back to Rice even though I had been happy with them for years. There is too little personal touch and too much relying on computers. More
