GET A SECOND OPINION and have someone knowledgeable about service before going here. They will con you out of money for services not needed. First time I went in to have two bolts tightened down on the service before going here. They will con you out of money for services not needed. First time I went in to have two bolts tightened down on the steering column, my brakes needing adjustment and a clunk in the rear hatch when rolling the window down. Well a 3100 bill later after recommendations of drive belts, timing belt, water pump, replace the lock, steering column and cleaning the rear brakes. I left with the same brake problem, but at least I had my timing belt done and my rear hatch was fixed. I came back after a while to have the rear brakes looked at again. Technician comes back to the service advisor stating it was coming from the front, rear main seal was leaking, needs a new steering rack due to the tie rod ends , needs a CV axle and my brand new front brakes were warped and needed all new components. Total this time was an estimate over 4k. I told them the brakes are all brand new. I had my valve cover fixed as it was leaking so that may be the rear main seal leak that he was suspecting. And the tie rods are serviceable so why replace the whole rack if you could just do the outer tie rods. She confirmed about cleaning the oil off first as the tech never cleaned the oil or verified the leak. Just saw sludge and said it was the rear main seal. I ask “Did he check the rear, as the vibration is coming from the rear, can you have another tech verify this? “. Service advisor said they would have another tech check. Lo and behold same tech checks and says he can’t go further until those parts are fixed. I ask if I can come up there and ride with the tech. She said yes. So I go up there. Amazingly enough the tech was too busy to come out so another tech goes with me. I show him that if you apply the parking brake it only applies the rear brake and it can isolate the front from the rear with taking the hydraulics out of the equation . His words were “yep it’s coming from the rear” he said he would have to open it up and verify it with measurements but could be a warped axle flange. I said yes but that would be apparent with or without braking. We return back to the dealership. The service advisor asks me what I would like to do. I stated that I have no confidence in their service technicians nor what they tell people so I would take my vehicle with me. She then goes to tell me that when she gave the ticket back to dispatch asking for another technician to drive it they gave it back to the original technician…. Shady? I think so….. Funny thing is they already did a brake flush on the system before anything else was done. Why do that if in fact there could be a wheel cylinder or sticking caliper, when you haven’t diagnosed it yet??? So the weekend comes around and I decide to do my own rear brakes. I take everything apart. Well the horseshoe clamps on the brake adjusters were too tight causing the arms to stick when the brakes were engaged. Causing too much tension which was overpowering the return spring. So for .99 per clip at a grand total of 4.00 and some tax I fixed my brake issue. I now wonder if they even did anything to my vehicle the first time. When I went to have my alignment checked at another shop they showed me my drive belts which are miraculously frayed. Funny thing is I replaced them before the timing belt job so they either didn’t do them or did them half xxx. Remember. The advisors and techs all work on flat rate or commission so the more they say they do the more hours or commission they clock. That why they have 15-20 advisors. It’s a scam and a con that they do this to people. I used to own a full automotive shop. I don’t have my commercial location so not having a lift has spoiled me and I thought the dealership would have been the more honest route. What a SCAM they have running here. My advise. Get a a second opinion from a trustworthy person like Deans auto service or someone like that. I see more people getting taken advantage these days and the dealerships don’t even feel bad about it. Quoting customers $5k over MSRP is not treating them right. I purchased one new car from here several years ago, but it seems now they want to take advantage of customers and make quick cash. right.
