After many years of happily owning Volvo's and a Chevy Suburban we decided to reduce the the number of vehicles we own. The decision was made to look for a Toyota 4Runner. My pursuit in finding the perfect replacement car involved visiting various car dealers and reputable dealerships. Two of these visits where like a "bad dream", maybe even what you would call a nightmare. The first Used Car lot I visited I was shown a vehicle that had not been detailed and still had the previous owners personal belongings like dirty socks and clothes, including trash (fast food bags) inside. The sales man who rode with me on a test drive at the second dealer lot was nice. However, when we test drove the vehicle the gas gauge registered below red and I was told, "Just don't go far with it". The second dealer's Sales Manager was very unprofessional, condescending and unnecessarily raised his voice with me. I felt like he was challenging me to a fight rather than offering helpful and useful information in my search for the vehicle I would be purchasing that day. I can't believe that someone like this would still have their job when representing a company while ruining their reputation. Sad, but true, I would never recommend anyone to that dealer because of their salesman. I had driven from Beaverton to Gladstone that morning to look at the 4Runner at the previously noted dealer. I planned to head back to Beaverton but my wife encouraged me to drive a few car lots away to Gladstone Toyota. I was quite hesitant due to what I had just experienced, but since we had already traveled this far...we might as well stop by. At the front of the car lot I saw a 2016 Pearl White 4Runner that I was interested in looking at. I started to walk around the lot and then a young lady, with a bright smile welcomed me - she introduced herself and her name was Lina. She answered any question I had regarding the pearl white 4Runner. In comparing my visit with the other sales people I encountered previously was that if she did not know the answers she immediately walked back inside the office and returned with an answer. She was very helpful and made my wife and I felt really comfortable in making the right decision about purchasing this vehicle. The vehicle was very clean and had full tank of gas. It was quite apparent that this Toyota Dealership took care of there products and customers. Lina followed through with everything we needed and made the whole process a breeze. She helped in negotiating the final price and arranged for the 4Runner to receive one final detailing before we drove off the lot. She explained the features o f the vehicle and I was impressed with the warranty that would be received and granted after we purchased it. Finally, we were very happy that Lina was the first person we encountered upon arriving on the dealerships car lot and appreciate the support given her from the rest of her team at Gladstone Toyota. It is not often that some would write a check for a car and still be smiling as they drive away, especially on Easter Sunday. I have every confidence in Gladstone Toyota and their staff and they have great integrity. Sincerely, Raymond More
