Oil change and Tire Rotation Oil is supposed to be 0W-16, however the invoice lists 0W-20. I talked to Bryan and he said either oil is fine. ONLY use if if you HAVE to and switch back at the next oil change, It wouldnt state that if its OK to use 0W-20. He told me there wasnt 0W-16 oil available when the car first came out and multiple sources state thats not true. There is a sticker on the cowling stating which oil to use, so I guess I just have to assume the correct oil was used. But it doesnt instill confidence in the service from a customer standpoint. It felt like Bryan was just trying to appease me to get me off the phone. He did say I could come back up and they would change the oil again with it correctly annotated on the invoice. However, I think at this point I would wager that the oil wouldnt be changed and just an invoice would be generated stating the correct, again, just to appease me. Also, I drove up from Gaffney, SC for the service, so to return would be a 1.5 hr drive plus my time there .. More
So, I took my Camry to Toyota of Gastonia. I wanted a tire 🛞 rotation, oil change 🛢️ and state inspection. The assistant service manager came and told me that the timing belt gasket needed to be replaced at a cost 😕 of $2400.00 because it was leaking. He said it would be covered under warranty but they couldn't find my service records for oil change the past three years. He pulled all my records and I asked what was my mileage at the last oil change. We discovered that I have driven the car 4000 miles in the past three years. Toyota recommends an oil change every 5000 miles OR ONCE A YEAR. He said my warranty was voided because I failed to get the oil changed once a year. He said he would submit the claim 🛄 and see what they decided. I am still waiting for an answer. When I got ready to leave I asked the same person how bad it was leaking. He said it's not leaking yet. There is dust around the gasket. I couldn't believe my ears👂. They tried the whoodooo on me. More
Service Advisor Montreko Gaddy was so honest in advising me that since I do the normal repairs on my 2002 Toyota Camry LE 4cy that he thought my Throttle Body needed to be cleaned.
