Deceptive Sales Practices - Just the Facts On or before 9/18/19, I used Toyota’s Online Build and Buy program to select the vehicle model, trim level, interior and exterior color, package optio On or before 9/18/19, I used Toyota’s Online Build and Buy program to select the vehicle model, trim level, interior and exterior color, package option and accessories I would like in a new car. On 9/18/19, I received an email from the marketing manager at Ron Hibbard Toyota (RHT) in Gallatin, TN stating: “We would be honored to earn your business.” On 9/19/19, I received an email from the sales manager at RHT stating that my complete satisfaction was their number one goal. Later that same day I received an email from a salesman at RHT stating: “Our goal is to provide you with an online buying experience like no other.” The salesman also left a voicemail message on my phone telling me the internet lead didn’t give him much information. He also stated that anything I might need on a Rav4 certainly they could locate a car that would fit all my needs. I replied to the salesman by e-mailed providing him with the detailed information I had submitted online. On 9/20/19, I received a second email and a second voice mail message from the salesman at RHT. The email states: “We were able to locate a vehicle with your specific needs, but I wouldn't feel comfortable moving forward without you driving a similar one before we made any decisions.” In the voicemail left on my cell phone, the salesman states “did a little bit of researching” and that he had found the car in Memphis, and he would not mind going to pick it up for me. However, he wanted me to visit RHT to be sure it was the right vehicle for me before proceeding. On 9/24/19 I visited RHT. I was shown a lower trim level Rav4 Hybrid and took a test drive. Upon completion of the test drive the salesman took numerous pictures of the car I already owned for the purpose of determining a potential trade in valve. The next step was negotiation over a price. At some point during these negotiations, the salesman said he had just been told that the car we were negotiating over was not actually in Memphis, but would be in Memphis is 4 days. After the second negotiation document had been printed out and taken by the salesman back to his manager, the salesman and the sales manager returned together and I was told by the sales manager that the car, which had been the subject of our time-consuming negotiations, did not exist. The sales manager told me that the car in question had not yet been built. He also told me I really didn’t drive enough to warrant the extra expense of a Hybrid Rav4 and that what I needed, at a considerable cost savings for me, was a gasoline-only car. He offered to order a hybrid car like I wanted, provided I give him a $1000.00 non-refundable deposit. Said to be ordered car would take 4 to 6 months to arrive and might be a 2020 instead of a 2019, so the selling price would probably go up some and my trade-in value would probably go down some. I did not buy a car nor did I order a car from RHT. It should be noted that the negotiation sheet (the second version), as well as a print out on RHT letterhead paper listing the make, model, color and all the equipment on the vehicle, uses a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). I was able to use a free online VIN lookup site to obtain a printout showing an actual, already-built vehicle with this exact specific VIN number. More

Lydia Atmore is the best sales person we have ever had in our 30 years of car buying.. Made our experience so laid back and easy. I highly recommend her. She is so down to earth and really works to get you what you want. The managers were great. Dave in the finance dept was great. Overall it was a great experience. No stress! Thank you Lydia for going above and beyond and becoming our friend! More
Definitely a perfect sales experience Walked into Ron Hibbard Toyota and Barry Robinson greeted me and my wife and asked if he could help us. I asked if we could see a Highlander XKE. Ri Walked into Ron Hibbard Toyota and Barry Robinson greeted me and my wife and asked if he could help us. I asked if we could see a Highlander XKE. Right away he said sure, follow me. So he took us outside and put us in one and said let me show you some of the things this car has. It was not come to my office, I have to get some information. He showed and told us all about the XLE, explaining options that were new. I previously told him we owned a 2013 Highlander. Barry was the most informative and knowledgeable salesman salesmen I have ever met . We drove the car and then went to his office upon our return. A few simple questions and answers and he and us completed a painless deal.(mostly he). The nicest and honest person we have ever bought a car from. Our thanks to Barry and the team at Ron Hibbard Toyota. More

My mother also had just purchased a new vehicle the week prior through Lydi I chose Ron Hibbard off of a STRONG recommendation from an awesome friend. My mother also had just purchased a new vehicle the week prior through Lydia and was treated extremely well. My experience was beyond exceptional. This dealership under the incredible leadership of its management is not like the “typical” dealership experience you’d expect. I’ll be a return customer both in the service department and when purchasing a vehicle. More

Excellent experience in buying a new vehicle I like straight talk and and no sales pressure. That is what I got at Hibbard Toyota. I made a couple of visits before buying.
