That decision ended up costing a lot more than the $10 savings. After waiting almost 1.5 hours, they told my 22 year old daughter that the threads were stripped on the oil pan and it would cost $500 to repair. Additionally they strongly recommended about $500 in other urgent services (mostly fluid changes). Thankfully I had told her not to get any additional work done without talking to me. Now maybe it was just a coincidence that the oil pan threads stripped on our first visit to this dealer, but the threads were OK when she took the car in, so draw your own conclusion. They did caulk the threads so she could drive home, and we got the repair done at Hamel's AutoHaus in Grayslake for $140 less. Update: After contacting the Service Manager, Mr. Owen, at Fox Lake Toyota about our experience, he said he could have worked something out if I had contacted him immediately. However, he made no offer, but instead accused me of falsifying my account and implied that I had probably taken my car somewhere else between the two oil changes done at Toyota dealerships. I consider this to be a very unprofessional response, and we will not be returning to this dealer. More

Insults and try's the typical old sales crap quilting buyers and preying on his victims. These types of techniques are going to die soon consumers are starting to be more educated. More
First Time Buyer with Fox Lake Toyota My boyfriend & I went to Fox Lake Toyota on Thursday 7/31 after being turned down by 2 other dealers in the area to see what they had available. Met w My boyfriend & I went to Fox Lake Toyota on Thursday 7/31 after being turned down by 2 other dealers in the area to see what they had available. Met with Mike first and we explained our situation which he then he had us meet with the GM Joe Bosco. We told him what kinda pymt we wanted and he suggested looking for something under $10K of which they had 2 vehicles, a Jeep & a Honda. We test drove both vehicles and chose the Jeep. By Tuesday of the following week we had been approved for financing. Everyone there was great, very friendly and really helped us to get the financing & the pymts we wanted. I would highly recommend them for your next vehicle purchase whether new or used. Liane & Dan More

You think you're perfect... yeah go ahead to cancel it and dont ever ever come to Fox Lake Toyota again, ever! You hear me? Never come to Fox Lake Toyota for anything!!!" and he hung up the phone without any instructions for the cancelling process as I already put down a deposit $500 on my credit card. I felt schock & insulted the way I was treated by the FL Toyota manager. I'll request a dispute with my credit card company and would contact a lawyer in case they don't return my deposit as required by law. I do not recomment anyone to buy car at FL Toyota. Go to Autonation Toyota or orther dealers for better respect and professional services. More
We had a very positive car buying experience at Fox Lake Toyota. We were considering several different models and trims, and the staff was very helpful as we considered the choices. We never felt rushed or pressured and ended up buying a new Camry which we love. Our salesman, Mike, was a great guy and we really enjoyed working with him. We felt like we were treated both fairly and honestly by the entire dealership and plan on returning there the next time we need a car. More
Let me start by saying that my husband and I hate dealerships: The ones we have dealt with always seem to have a bag of price/option contingencies that are rolled out at the last minute. Yet, I saw dealerships: The ones we have dealt with always seem to have a bag of price/option contingencies that are rolled out at the last minute. Yet, I saw this car on Autotrader and after doing my research contacted the dealership. I received an immediate response from Scott Nielsen, who provided me with all the information I asked for without any puff or fluff. Did I mention that we live in Michigan, and Fox Lake Toyota is in Illinois? If we wanted to make the purchase, which was at a GREAT price, we had to completely trust the information that we received from Scott. He did everything he could to add to our comfort level, including a phone tour of the car with my husband to make sure that we knew as much as possible before we set out to Illinois. The car appeared to be exactly as Scott described, and between him and the management staff a very smooth deal was handled. However, I was sure that the car would break down on the way back to Michigan, but it didn't happen. Then I decided to wait a month to write this review in case any problems surfaced that the dealership neglected to tell us: Well, that didn't happen either. The car is everything we could have hoped for: It is the right year, with the right features, for the better-than right price. This experience changed our minds about car dealerships, especially in the case of this dealership. We couldn't have asked for better service, and we CERTAINLY will buy from them again. KUDOS to Fox Lake Toyota/Scion in Illinois. More
Bob is not a high pressure salesman and listens to what the buyer is saying. This is the fourth vehicle I bought from him and plan on more down the road. Thanks Bob Ray Gordon the buyer is saying. Beware with this dealer, if you know nothing about car, you are done, they will rip you off. I visited this dealer for a diagnostic purpose, first place they haven't identified the issue and presented me you are done, they will rip you off. I visited this dealer for a diagnostic purpose, first place they haven't identified the issue and presented me with another work order worth 4000+. They haven't even bothered to find out the issue and continued with other work which they convinced me. Finally, by God's grace they have identified the issue, when the pursue with other work, stopped the work and forced me to pay their labor. More
