I took my Highlander in for bumper recall and routine maintenance. Made an appt. For 10 AM. Left dealership for the day (by shuttle driver). Shuttle driver stopped working at 5 pm. By 5:00 I had not he maintenance. Made an appt. For 10 AM. Left dealership for the day (by shuttle driver). Shuttle driver stopped working at 5 pm. By 5:00 I had not heard anything from Dan. When I called, I went to voice-mail. Running out of ride options, I headed back to dealership anyway. On the drive, Dan returns my call only yo tell me that my car is not done. They have not even gotten to it! I told him that I live 50 miles away and I will need a loaner car. His response was that Enterprise closed at 5:00. (Then why didn't he call me sooner.) I said "you have a whole lot full of loaner cars, find one!" When I get to the dealership, he apologizes for having to leave my car and offers a couple of free oil changes. He assures me my car will be ready the next afternoon. At 2:00 the next afternoon, we picked up my car (no offer of free oil changes). I lost a whole day waiting for my car (at my daughters house in town) and the inconvenience of coming back the next day (an hours drive each way). The communication was the worst. What was the point of making an appt? Dan said that "they kinda over booked", plus a technician didn't show up for work. I get people call out and that happens more often these days. But, why don't you NOT over book so the fallout of that is not so bad. The actual physical work on my vehicle is good. The customer/service dept communication has gotten worse over the past year. We have been customers of this dealership since 2013. More
Ryan was great! I was assisted in a kind and professional manner. Toyota of Easley is the only place I will take my car and I tell all my friends to go there too! I went into Toyota of Easley because I needed a battery. The battery that was in my car I purchased from Toyota of Easley. My previous battery was purchased 2017 and it was under warranty so I needed anothe The battery that was in my car I purchased from Toyota of Easley. My previous battery was purchased 2017 and it was under warranty so I needed another battery in 4/21, because of the exchange that was made for me in 2021 I was told that I had no warranty since my warranty was used in 2021 from the warranty of the 2017 battery. Ian said that the battery purchased in 2021 had no warranty so I had to pay full price for a new battery. I was also told that I needed a new battery post because of the Toyota battery that I had purchased in 2021 was leaking and had ruined my battery post so that would be an additional cost. I told them to put my car back together I would go somewhere else to purchase me a battery and that’s what they did. I was not satisfied with the information that I was given so I decided to wait for Mr Norris to come in because the receptionist said he would be in the service guy Ryan asked me not to talk to Mr Norris he said that I needed to first speak with Ian the shop manager so Ryan had Ian come out to speak with me as I was patiently waiting on Mr Norris to come in and all of a sudden my battery had a warranty on it that Ian replaced and the battery post was replaced as well with no charge to me since I had been at the Toyota dealership for hours as they figured out how they would try and take advantage of me. I had excepted to pay a prorated amount for the battery replacement, but I never expected to feel as if I was in a very unsafe environment. Needless to say this was the calmest day of my life while all this was going on. I didn’t have to say many words at all only that I would wait to speak with Mr Norris. I have had my car serviced for the most part of my ownership at Toyota of Easley since I purchased it from them. I’m still at a lost for words about my experience. I’m grateful that my issues was resolved but from being told initially I had a warranty from Ryan to him speaking with his manager Ian that I had no warranty to getting a new battery and new battery post with a battery that also has a warranty. If I had excepted what they said and left mad and upset, I would not have a new Toyota battery that now has a warranty. I’m just curious should my battery from 2021 really not have a warranty on it? I don’t want to feel like I was being taken advantage of, but that’s how I’m feeling. I’m a woman taking my car to a what I have believed to be a trustworthy dealership for the most part. I don’t want to feel as if this place can’t be trusted. I want to believe that this dealership is honest and not discriminating and taking advantage of people like myself. I am seriously concerned.
