Uneducated Service Manager My wife has brought in her 2018 Toyota Camry (45k miles) for service on the same issue now three times. The vehicle has a misfire in cylinder 3 which My wife has brought in her 2018 Toyota Camry (45k miles) for service on the same issue now three times. The vehicle has a misfire in cylinder 3 which the service department performed a "software update" on the ECM to correct. Service performed the same diagnosis and repair for the first two visits saying that there was a technical bulletin for the issue and that it was covered under warranty. With the issue still not resolved after the third visit and service keeping the car over the weekend, the vehicle still has a CEL due to the same misfire in cylinder 3. When she called the service manager (Travis) to address the issue he tried to tell her that they had been "doing her a favor up until now" and that her vehicle "was never covered under ANY warranty". Toyota's manufacturer powertrain warranty lasts for 5 years or 60k miles (whichever occurs first). Why he would try to say otherwise is beyond me. Warranty repairs pay just as well as customer pay if not better in most cases. It seems to me that Toyota DM is doing well enough to tell customers that they don't need their business and that a simple warranty repair isn't worth their time. I'm not going to say that Travis was trying to take advantage of a customer who "doesn't know any better", but it sure seems that way. I would think twice before anyone brings their vehicle to this service department. More

I was traveling from Houston, TX to Iowa for a funeral. About half way there I heard noises from the front end. Toyota of Des Moines was on my route, so I stopped in to have it checked out.
