Serviced vehicle and made a complex repair and some simpler repairs. Had to return the car multiple times but ultimately they fixed the problem, and corrected the errors they had made in attempting to simpler repairs. Had to return the car multiple times but ultimately they fixed the problem, and corrected the errors they had made in attempting to fix the problem. The errors they made in the repairs were: * Failed to reattach some electrical lines causing failure of the air conditioning unit. * Replaced the wrong part - the part to replace was clearly defined by the OBD2 trouble codes. Of course the trouble code returned after they cleared it since they did the wrong repair. * Purged the wrong coolant system for the part that they initially did replace, resulting in severe trouble codes being reported. * Initially denied that the ac failure was their fault, had to threaten them with non-payment to get them to take the car back in to determine the cause. * Never admitted that they replaced the wrong coolant part, even when I pointed out that the part that should have been replaced was not - it had grease and grime build up and was clearly original. They instead said that there would be "no cost" to correct the problem which was their error. * At the final pickup (4th time in the shop) the coolant level was below the minimum acceptable level - I dont know if they ever correctly purged the system as is required by the service documents I have seen. However after adding coolant the car seems to now be running OK. * This shop had very long wait times, perhaps just busy, but they did not give an accurate estimate of how long the wait would be. Better to drop off the car and come back later. Lessons learned: Never bring my car back to this dealer, at least without doing a detailed pre-inspection and a detailed post-inspection so it is possible to determine what might have been broken during their service. A bluetooth OBD2 reader was very helpful in working with this repair shop. I read the trouble codes before going to the dealer and after pickup - cross checking what this dealer is repairing is essential to a successful outcome. More
