In both situations, the service at Clovis Toyota was 100%. Polite. Courteous. Low turnover among service writers. Expert. Highly trained mechanics. ***Edit*** On Feb 4, I received a call from Sal Vargas, Service Mgr at this dealership. He was sympathetic to my concerns but explained that the costs had gone up due to inflation. During our call, he looked at their website and saw the way the oil change price was listed and said that he would look into things. In the end I came away from the experience hoping that they would change the wording on the website but never thought I would receive a refund. Well today, Feb 19, I just got an alert that I received a $30.14 refund on my credit card from Toyota of Clovis. Making the cost of my oil change the advertised price! Thank you Mr Vargas! I am changing my review and really appreciate the time you put into helping me, both behind the scenes at the dealership and also on the call you made to me. We were on the phone for quite a while and it was after 7:00 pm when you called if I remember correctly! ***Original review*** Their web site said the price of an oil change was $69.99. When I called to make my appointment, that would have been a good time to let me know if it was more, but I was not informed of this until I was at the counter with the advisor. He told me it was $116. I told him that the website said $69.99 but he said with inflation the price had gone up. I needed the oil change so I couldn’t just leave. He offered to give me a discount, and only charge me $100 so I agreed. I got the oil change but I guess I am used to dealerships in Ohio and Florida, where they accurately state their fees. Also those other dealerships automatically wash the vehicle. At this dealership, my vehicle came back unwashed. And although I had an appointment I was there over 2 hours for a simple oil change. Another difference from other dealerships, where it’s usually around an hour. All in all, I think I’ll try the other dealership in this city if I’m ever here again. Also, I plan on contacting Toyota about the FALSE ADVERTISING concerning the price for the oil change, which would have been $46 more than the website stated if I hadn’t received a “discount” to make it only $30 more.
