Thank you Mr. Royston. I will email you later today. Also, I did contact Toyota. I spoke with a nice lady who informed me that the service departments of Toyota dealerships are independent from Toyota, meaning that Toyota cannot force them to give me a partial refund or change their procedures to more accurately state their prices. However she could hear my frustration and shock that I was overcharged like this. The way the dealership advisor stated the price makes me think this is a common practice at this dealership. If so, I don’t understand why there aren’t more people complaining. To the dealership: I understand that we have a big problem with inflation right now in the US, but the consumer is also being affected by inflation on every side and accurately stating the fees is even more important at this time. Especially for people like me, I am a senior on a fixed income trying to keep my older vehicle maintained. While I was on the phone with the Toyota rep, she put me on hold twice and attempted to contact the management at the dealership so that we could have a faster response. She was unsuccessful and she had to leave a message. She advised me that I would hopefully hear something from either Toyota or the dealership within the next few days. She sent me an email that gave me a case number, and said I could call back if I don’t hear anything. I have to thank Toyota for their sincere attention to my concerns.
