One said he found a tiny whole on the tire but th my tire blew out on freeway. Two inspectors check my car and gave me two complete deferent summary. One said he found a tiny whole on the tire but the other one said we found pieces of glasses. Two non sense reasons for a tire blow out on a FREEWAY! More
My wife and I purchased a 2019 Toyota Prius from this dealership, Great service, great car. Loved it. Unfortunately, we ran into a lot of trouble this year and no one will help us. I don't recommend you dealership, Great service, great car. Loved it. Unfortunately, we ran into a lot of trouble this year and no one will help us. I don't recommend you do business with them because if anything goes wrong, they won't help you. On June 1st, 2021 I brought in the Prius to sell it back to the dealership. CarMax quote was about $3000 over the lease buy-out; I offered to sell it for the lease buy-out. So basically, we owed $17,900 on the car, and I was willing to sell it for $17,900. Sold the car to Dan Burns, who was polite and helpful. We were leaving the country so it was important to just resolve the car without any hassle. Nick Hammer, whose job at Toyota SM it was to file the paperwork, did not file the paperwork until June 10th. That wouldn't be a problem, except a lease payment was automatically made on June 6th. As a result, we paid $299 for a car we didn't own for a payment we were not supposed to make. Then, when the paperwork was filed on June 10th, Toyota SM paid the remainder on the release, which grounded the lease. Toyota Financial has been paid, but Toyota SM still owes us $299. At first we thought "oops! This is an innocent mistake, no problem to fix it". But three weeks later, we have called over 20 times, spoken to people over 10 times. First issue: front desk transfers you to people who have full mailboxes so you can't leave a number. If you actually do talk to someone they will claim that they'll call you back but they never do. We spoke with Dan, who referred us to Nick. We spoke with Nick. Nick said he'd investigate. We spoke with Nick again. He referred us to a woman in finance whose name I didn't catch. She was sympathetic and said she needed to get her boss, Will Rivera, to sign off on the $299. We waited several days and didn't hear back so we contacted Will. Will had never heard of our case and said he'd email back. He emailed to say the dealership didn't owe us anything, we had to call Toyota Financial. We had already spoken to Toyota Financial, who made it clear the issue was with the dealership. We replied to inform Will how much stress this was calling us during a difficult international move, and how crazy it is this is still not resolved weeks later. Will confirmed that Toyota Santa Monica "did nothing wrong" and we had to call Toyota Financial, who would give us our money. We called Toyota Financial, who of course confirmed that it was a dealership issue. Everyone we spoke to referred us to a different person, said it wasn't their problem, referred us in circles. No one answered their phone. No one called back. No one helped us. No one provided even the slightest bit of basic empathy. I don't like being treated like this. I've never been treated this poorly by a business ever. I would ordinarily never write a review, I'm pretty easy to please. Maybe you'll have a good sales experience with Toyota Santa Monica, but if anything goes wrong, no one will help you. Especially avoid: Dan Burns Nick Hammer Will Rivera I'm saying to especially avoid those people, but those are the people we've spoken to. It's possible other employees will try to help more or less. I agree with other reviews, very shady! They promise anything to bring people in and then try to trap them at higher prices. The managers are also not honest and don't care about customers. They only ca anything to bring people in and then try to trap them at higher prices. The managers are also not honest and don't care about customers. They only care about who pays the most money!
