I will say that I had no idea how a car shopping experience can be so positive. After walking into the dealership I was greeted by this high energy salesperson with a lot of confidence, Chille DeCa experience can be so positive. The reason I am giving the highest ratings is he really made a deal work for me. In fact I was going to give up, and he worked with the finance manager, Bob, to put me in the vehicle that I had chosen. He actually made what would normally be a stressful situation into an enjoyable one. Thanks Toyota of Santa Monica, and go Chillie go! More
I must admit, I'm always a bit nervous when walking into a car dealership, let alone a used dealership. I don't like pushy salesman and it's always hard for me to trust that a stranger working on commissio a car dealership, let alone a used dealership. I don't like pushy salesman and it's always hard for me to trust that a stranger working on commission is going to have my best interests in mind. When I walked on the lot, I was approached by Chille DeCastro and immediately he greeted me with low pressure "take your time to look around" attitude. I was given the space I needed to look around, which I appreciated very much, and when the time came that I needed answers to questions, I was in a more comfortable space. Chille was extremely knowledgeable and helped me get a strong idea of what my financing terms would look like according to my credit score and my down payment. The best part is, I didn't even buy a car and I was still treated like a VIP. The Prius that I liked on the lot had just been sold and instead of choosing to push me into other available inventory like most car salesman do, he took my info and gave me the heads up that a couple of similar Prius' are expected next week and we can go from there. Rather than hunting all over town, I'm choosing to go with Chille and patiently wait for the arrival of my new car. More
I had never owned a Pruis or been in a Pruis. Mercedes, BMW, Suburban, Cadallic's were our cars. My daughter is in Nursing school and doing her clinicals. Living in Southern California her time spent in traffic along with rising gas prices set me out to look for another option for her car. I was looking early Sunday morning of Thanksgiving weekend of 2010 and the dealership used auto group was not open however Chilly Decostro a salesman had just arrived as well. While I didn't like the way the Pruis looked at first glance and was headed to my car I was approached by Chilly Decostro. Chilly Decostro took the time to understand my concerns for gas milage and objections over the way they looked and what my price range was as I was paying cash. Once I spent a good hour understanding how a hibyrd worked, the weight of the Pruis adding to get up up and go as well as test drove one I was open to the idea. Years ealier I had driven a Lexus mini SUV and hated the lack of power in their first model hibryd and marginal gas improvment but would of bought one otherwise. While I was looking to spend 10,000 - 12,000 I did fall in love with the interior of a lease buy back with white leather, wooden dash inlays, back up camera, sport wheels.... more what our family was use to. Yes Chilly listened to me and was NOT about to let me leave without seeing this car as this was my last objection, not being visually pleasing. I was going to have to send more cash to get what I wanted. I did not have my full wallet on me as I had left for coffee that Sunday morning and went driving by the Toyoto dealership. I bought the car with $100 CASH down as I didn't want to loose the car. Anyone else would call Chilly crazy for trusting what I said was true. At the least it would of tied up a great seller at the end of the month through the first of the year. Monday morning the money was wired from my bank leaving $26,000 in the coffers of Santa Monica Toyota 24 hours after my $100 deposit. Chilly Decostro brought the car to our beach house in Malibu the following morning and I drove him back with to the dealership; Chilly was now charged with the duty to find another hybrid! My daughter the VERY happy driver of her new Pruis!!! The gas milage has been amazing. Her Gas bill alone has dropped $300 a month. Our Pruis is cuter and fancer than anyone we have ever seen. On top of that, I can relax knowing it was a certified car, additionally purchased the extended 100 bumper to bumber and the service package so my daughter can truly have a start for her new life at Chilly's urging. Thank you Santa Monica Pruis for having such a bubbly, smart and ambitious salesman as Chilly Decostro, otherwise we would not have a Pruis or any Hibryd cars. Our family has a Highlander now as well and Chilly is on the lookout for the perfect second Pruis. More
When I was shopping for my car, I was really frustrated with a number of the dealerships I walked into. In contrast, Santa Monica Toyota and specifically Chille was extremely honest and informative in hel with a number of the dealerships I walked into. Even though I didn't end up buying a Toyota, I would recommend Santa Monica Toyota to my friends and family, and if I were in the market for a car, I would definitely go to Chille. More

I walked into Toyota to buy a brand new Yaris. I drove away with my Yaris, extrenely happy with the whole experience. i have since taken my car in for two services and for some body repair. Both departments were excellent also, friendly, helpful,professionl and efficient with excellent results and the service and repairs were carried out very speedily. They organised a car hire which had a car waiting for me as I dropped off my car for repair and for the service a friendly guy, dropped me off to my yoga class whilst the car was being serviced. It's refreshing to go into an organisation where everyone is happy, helpful and excellent at their jobs. Thank you Toyota/Sion Santa Monica, I recommend you 100%. More
I had been looking for a car through various sources before (literally) walking into the Toyota Scion Santa Monica dealership one afternoon. Although I didnt find a car that day, Chille DeCastro continued to research my "car requirements" to no avail. He kept me informed of new inventory without any pushy salesman qualities, but rather, with genuine interest and charm (you cant help but love his smile :)) I'm happy to say, that we are now the happy owners of a used Toyota Scion XB and the experience couldnt have been easier. No hassles....you cant beat that!! He was responsive, honest and forthcoming to all our questions. He neither rushed us into the sale, nor did he back-pedal when we submitted an offer below the asking price. Both he and his manager "Bob" went the proverbial 'extra mile' to make us happy, giving us no hassles in meeting our requests, such as when we asked for some detail work to be done on the car. Now, that we are 'old' customers, they are still there for us in helping establish our blue-tooth usage etc. We love the treatment received at this dealership, and have high recommendations, all around, for their service, friendliness, honesty, helfulness and pricing of their merchandise. This long-time Santa Monica dealership definitely seems to stand by the product they sell ----> cars. The management and sales personel, like Chille DeCastro, also stand by the people who buy their product ---> their customers.
