Please do not do business with Toyota Pasadena. We bought our Venza in October 2013. We used the Costco Auto Program and the first salesman we were assigned to (Phil) never returned my call. So then bought our Venza in October 2013. We used the Costco Auto Program and the first salesman we were assigned to (Phil) never returned my call. So then I contacted the dealer directly and spoke to Cecille who was nice and pleasant to deal with. We left as happy customers but then the mess soon started. First, we were called back a couple days to sign a paper that the finance guy forgot about. No big deal, but it was an inconvinience. Around mid December, I contacted the sales lady we dealth with asking about our tags and dmv registration. She emailed back and said she checked with the toyota dmv agent and said the paperwork had been filed and rest assured all is taken care of. Ok so thenon 12/30/2013, I get pulled over on the freeway while on my way to drop off my 1 year old before work. The cop asked when I bought the car and then asked why I didn't have my tags. I explained to him the situation and even said, look me up, the car is under my name, i just haven't received anything from the dmv yet. My son started getting fussy, so the cop let me go. When I got into work, I called the dmv. They looked up the VIN and advised me the car WAS NOT under my name, nor my husbands. It was still under the previous owner and NOTHING had been sent to Sacramento for processing. I was so upset to hear that. Here we are making payments on the car that we bought in October. It was almost January, and it still wasn't under our name?! I contacted the sales lady through email and phone. After a while, she didn't get back to me, so I got the number for the toyota dmv clerk, I call her several times, left a message and then emailed her. Needless to say, the customer service is terrible. I could go on and on, but long story kinda short, there was a huge problem with the title that the dealer did not tell us about when we bought the car. The dmv clerk lied to us about our paperwork. Is this even legal? When I talked to people about this, they asked, this is toyota? It sounded like a small shady used car dealership. It seems like everyone there does not care about their customers or the quality of work they do. We contacted the BBB, filed a complaint with the dmv and involved our attorney. Yesterday 2/13 I received an email from the dmv clerk that since I hadn't responded to her email, she went ahead and overnighted the tags to our home. First of all, this was an urgent matter, so pick up the phone and call, don't email. Second, I didn't respond to her because my husband and I left work early to go to the dmv and deal with their investigation unit-this was inconvinient. So when we get home today, we should have our tags waiting for us at our doorstep. Bad service, communication, and work ethic. More
Dealership has questionable values and terrible customer service. I called them up about a used 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 26k miles stated as Extra Clean, Flawless, Excellent Condition both on the their service. I called them up about a used 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 26k miles stated as Extra Clean, Flawless, Excellent Condition both on the their website and confirmed by the sales associate Paul. I expressed that I wanted to buy the car that day but wanted to discuss price before I drove 45 miles to their store. We agreed to a price and I agreed to purchase the car as long as everything checked out. When I got there I discovered the car had two large scratches from almost the rear tire to the front tire. The drivers door was even dented from one of the scratches. The other scratch was down to the metal on the panel below the doors and about an 1/8 of an inch wide at parts. The rims were also scratched up from the accident this car had. I told Paul this was not in the condition discussed and thus I couldn't buy it for the agreed price. He said he was sorry and that he didn't see it. He either lied or didn't look at the car very close before telling me it was in excellent condition on the phone. I asked him to go see what they could do. He checked with his manager Alex and returned. His response was they couldn't do anything and I quote "You drove an hour to get here, are you sure you don't want to buy it for the agreed price?" I believe they new about the issue and tricked me into driving an hour under the hope that I would just buy it since I had already driven that far. They also tout a 160 point inspection this car received on their website. If it received that I'm not sure how these details didn't make it on the paperwork of the car and website description. Bottom line they are either incompetent or liars. To make matters worse nobody other than Paul even came out to say they were sorry or provide an explanation. It has been 3 days since I was there and their website still describes the car as Extra Clean, Flawless, Excellent Condition. More
I recently purchased a car from Toyota of Pasadena and I must say that they are shady... Even after I told them that I was going to write a check for the car, they financed the car without telling me and must say that they are shady... Even after I told them that I was going to write a check for the car, they financed the car without telling me and basically used my check to pay off the loan, probably so that they could get a kick back from the financing bank. I only found out about this when I met with the Finance person to sign all of the paperwork. And even then, he didn't tell me about it...when I saw the paperwork and told the Finance person that I was not financing the vehicle but was going to write a check for it, he said "no problem, that's your choice. You can write a check of it and we'll pay off the loan or you can finance it.". I think this all began when the salesperson asked for my SSN and the types of information that would be used to apply for a loan. When I asked him what this was for because I was not going to finance the vehicle but write a check for it, he said that they have to run a credit check to see if they can accept a personal check from me. And all this was before we even began discussing the price. And the salesperson was an idiot... They had an advertisement in the Los Angeles Times that day so I took it in with me and when I showed it to him, his questions were: 1. "Are you sure this is our ad (even though it had 'Toyota of Pasadena' on it)?"; 2. "Are you sure this is in today's paper (even though it had that day's date on it)?". And after they agreed to match a previous quote that I got from another Toyota dealer (which I should have gone to thinking back now...), the salesman told me "oh by the way, we installed an alarm system on the car which wasn't listed on the window sticker so it will be an additional $695. Right. I told him to remove this alleged 'alarm system' because I didn't want it and they were able to remove this 'alarm system' in about 5-minutes... Hmmm... And the delivery process? The salesman drove the car up from the car wash area, handed me the two sets of keys, and told me to read the owner's manual and let me know if I have any questions. Oh, and to give him all high scores when Toyota contacts me with a survey. Right. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Toyota of Pasadena for anything, not even the complimentary Toyota Care service, even though I only live 10-minutes from them. I will gladly drive further to not have to deal with Toyota of Pasadena. Beware of Toyota of Pasadena. More
By far the best car shopping experience we've ever had. Elcer Hernandez of Toyota of Pasadena made this experience very easy and we did not feel pressured into purchasing a vehicle. He asked us what we wer Elcer Hernandez of Toyota of Pasadena made this experience very easy and we did not feel pressured into purchasing a vehicle. He asked us what we were looking for and he found EXACTLY what we wanted. The right model, color and options for our new vehicle. He gave us a quote via e-mail and even matched a competitor's price. Elcer fully explained the functions of the vehicle and even connected our bluetooth to our new vehicle and explained how it worked. Again, no hassle and no pressure while at the dealership. Elcer is very professional, friendly and VERY knowledgeable of the vehicles he is selling there. I would TOTALLY recommend Toyota of Pasadena and HIGHLY recommend Elcer Hernandez. Thank you Toyota of Pasadena for giving us a great deal and great experience in buying our new car. More
It feels more like a used car sales lot, than a dealership. They take long to do the work, try to sell you what you may not need. They tell you the car will be washed, but when they bring the unwas dealership. They take long to do the work, try to sell you what you may not need.
