Hi Mark, I understand that you are concerned that a $27.00 switch could end up costing 244.00. I had a similar experience recently when I had an electrical problem at my house. I had to have a small part replaced but the bill was several hundred dollars. My experience at the dealership helped me to understand why this is so. Technicians are paid based on times established as the average time it takes to complete a job. These are industry standard times. We use a standard published by AllData. If the technician is able to do the repairs faster he still earns the time published. If it takes him longer than he still only earns the published time. This usually means that the better technicians earn more as they are able to complete tasks more quickly and move on to other work. Kelsey provided you with an estimate for the repair in advance. If you had concerns before the repair was completed you could have discussed them with us then.
