Buying a new car is time consuming and somewhat stressful, but the people at Wilson Toyota make it as easy as it can get. We knew we wanted a Prius and our salesperson was very knowledgeable and did well at explaining the features and possible models. The color we wanted wasn't there, but they were able to get it by the next day. The whole process went very smoothly and we are loving our new car!! More

Wilson was the only place who had one on the lot so we made our journey north from Snohomish County. The process was mostly seamless with the exception I did not understand the vehicle pricing we had agreed to. What we shook hands on was not what was in my mind. I put the blame squarely on my head for the misunderstanding. We finally noticed the discrepancy when we were about to sign the purchase agreement. We brought our salesman Michael Johnson (MJ) back into the room, then the sales manager. I explained the value which I believed we were paying was not what was on the contract. After a short discussion we agreed on a revised vehicle price and continued with the purchase. This could have been a difficult and uncomfortable situation that may have led us to walk away without closing the deal. The Wilson Motors team did not allow that to happen and they were quick to diffuse and resolve the situation. We LOVE our Highlander and could not be happier with our selection nor the folks at Wilson Motors. More

Our salesman, Michael Johnson, was what we hoped for: low pressure and 'human' (if you know auto dealerships, you know what I'm saying). We were able to arrive at an agreed upon trade-in price for our vehicles and a price on the new Tacoma quickly. From there we waited for the finance manager to iron out the details of our loan. After stepping into his office I got what I knew was coming: a hard sell on an extended warranty. I've bought multiple new vehicles in the past but this was the first time I was called 'insane' for turning down an expensive extended warranty. C'est la vie, as they say, it's just the nature of the business. Don't be afraid to ask questions and double-check that the monthly payment you are being presented with does not include the extended warranty. Stick to your guns, do your edmunds.com research ahead of time, and know what you want. Don't feel pushed into something you don't want, or aren't budgeting for. Saying no to an offer at finance is a business decision, not a personal attack. If you're buying from the dealership you won't go wrong with Michael. He's a nice man. As with any consumer transaction, know your details in advance (KBB, credit scores, your personal goals in the transaction, etc.) and the deal will go as anticipated. More

About a year ago, my husband We purchased a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid from Richard Brunell two days ago, but let's start from the beginning... About a year ago, my husband and I stopped by to see what type of used cars under $10,000 they had on the lot. We were looking to trade-in my husband's 2004 Audi A4 1.8L Quattro. This was our first time meeting Richard. Being comfortable Bellingham folk, we had our older dog with PTSD with us, and Richard was so understanding and respectful. We chatted, he told us about their inventory, the topic moved to my husband being a Veteran, and immediately Richard thanked him for his service. Not spoken enough. We wanted to cry, and take him home. We weren't ready to commit at the time, but we knew we would recommend him if anyone was in the market for a vehicle, just to have a positive experience buying a car. About a week ago, my sister was in town (also car shopping), so we saw Richard! We test drove a 2005 Toyota Highlander that we loved, but it was the first of many on our list we wanted to see if we liked, so we decided we wouldn't be crushed if it wasn't there later. Two days ago, we come back...it wasn't there. We were bummed, but not crushed. We test drove at least three or four other vehicles before deciding we were willing to negotiate closer to the top of our budget to get the car we inevitably bought, two days after it arrived on the lot (originally purchased there, too!). We ended up spending 4.5 hours there, namely because Richard had some rough negotiating to do...he worked with us on a down payment, found us a better APR than we had been quoted...and happily explained the entire process and how the conclusions were reached, each time he went back and forth, without being condescending. An agreement was made, but the night was ending. Richard let us take the car home! He knew I did NOT want to leave the lot with that Audi, and was comfortable enough (not to mention calling the cops would be pretty frickin' easy) to let us come back the next day to complete the process. He even surprised us with car mats!!! My husband was talking about wanting to get some, and Richard apparently paid attention (and noticed all of the pine needles we brought back with us the next day), and is so fabulous that he decided to give us this gift. We're keeping him. Everyone we encountered there was friendly. No grease, no skeez, no garbage. Just humans. Great ones :) p.s. Richard was helping a multitude of people at the same time as us and we never felt neglected or forgotten about. More

I am a single woman, just retired, who dreaded buying a new car, based on previous experience. If you are buying a Toyota or even considering one, go to Wilson Toyota and ask for Richard Brunell. Richard will listen to you, treat you with respect and help you get your ideal car. Went to Wilson Toyota if there was a model car that might have the features I was looking for. Richard found me the perfect car. No pressure. No trying to talk me into buying a specific car. Richard and I talked about what I was looking for and my budget. Richard really listened to me. The very first car he showed me had everything on my list and then some. I got a low mileage 2013 Toyota Corolla Matrix with a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty. He even traded in my old car (1999 Camry with 250,000+ miles) not because they wanted it, but because it would be easier for me. Really, didn't expect that; a blessing indeed. Richard even filled the gas tank. He took the time to show me all the car's features and even connected my cell phone to the Bluetooth. Richard told me if I had any questions about the car later to call him or come back in. I think I got a great deal. I used Wilson's financing, which was very easy and have 3 full months before the first payment. There was no pressure to finance through Wilson either. Richard told me that he know Bellingham is not really in my neighborhood and that I can go to any Toyota dealership. I live in Arlington and I know there are closer dealerships. After working with Richard, I will make the drive to Bellingham to have my car serviced. I would much rather give Wilson my business. Working with Richard is more like talking with a friend than a salesman. He is selling cars, but Richard made the entire car buying experience so easy and stress free. As long as I live in WA will only buy cars from Richard. More

With Service Advisor Mike Hinthorne there was no question my beloved 4Runner was in good hands and would be serviced in as timely a manner as possible. 4-stars for price, considering OEM parts are always gonna be pricy, but at least at the dealership I know it will be done right.
