One company 2 completely different departments First off I would like to start this review off with the fact that I have been a customer of Wilson Toyota in Bellingham sense 1984, I have bought a n First off I would like to start this review off with the fact that I have been a customer of Wilson Toyota in Bellingham sense 1984, I have bought a number of new and used vehicles over that time without any issues from this dealership, but that all ended with the service I received from the Service Department on January 7 2019 I had make a appointment with the service department to look at a parking sensor light that was flashing on my dashboard of my new 2018 Camry, I arrived at the schedule time of the appointment and asked the Service employee Trevor Hare how long it would take to resolve the issue, at which point he said it shouldn’t take more then 2 hours, at that point I asked him that if it might run more then that time to let me know, because I would need to reschedule as I had a full day of errands to run on my only day off from work , at which point he again assured me it shouldn’t take more then 2 hours. Well after 3 hours of waiting and no updates from Trevor Hare I decided to find him and ask him how much long will this take? At which point he told me the service technician that was working on my car was on the phone with Toyota trying to figure out the issue, ok so now I’m 3 hours into this and it’s still not fixed, so another hour went by now I’m 4 hours of waiting and finally Trevor Hare comes to let me know my car is ready, but the issue is not fixed, at which point he tells me that they don’t know what the issue is but that the only thing they can come with is that the sensor has a rock chip in and that’s what’s causing the warning light to flash on the dashboard, he also said to me that the reason it had a rock chip in it was and I quote “from following to close to other cars” is what caused the rock chip, at which point he is assuming I’m tailgating other drivers and it’s my fault, I don’t need to tell you how offended i was at his assumption but I will , I asked him if this issue was still under warranty as it is a 2018 new car with under 25, 000 miles at which point Trevor said no it’s not it’s just like if you have a rock chip in your windshield that’s not covered, I said ok can you at least have the service technician that was working on the car at least turn the flashing warning light off in the dashboard for the sensor so it’s not a distraction while driving, at which point Trevor Hare said that’s not a problem we can do that for you and asked the service technician to do that for me. So the service technician and I go to my car to turn it off and after a few minutes of him trying to do it he says he will have to do some research on how to turn it off, at which point I said no that’s fine I have 4 hour of my day wasted the problem is not resolved, I’ve been told it’s not under warranty and it’s my fault as to the issue, just give my key and I’ll be on my way and will never again be a customer of this dealership after 35 years The next day January 8 2019 I called my salesman Richard Brunell Who I’ve had nothing but a professional relationship with and explain how disappointed I was in the Service Department and how I was treated as a customer, Richard said he was sorry about what happened and would look into it for me, I then received a call and a voice message from Julian Greening apologizing for the wait time and the way I was treated as a customer and that he was going to have the person in charge of his Service Department Joe Smith give me a call to help resolve the issue I did receive a call on January 9 2019 from Joe Smith and a voicemail that was also apologizing for the amounting time it took and that I had a brand new car that I was set on my way without fixing or presenting a solution to the issue, Joe said he had a idea of how to fix the issue if I was willing to participate in his idea and to give him a call at his number at my early convenience I returned the call to Joe Smith on my first day off on Monday January 14 2019 and left a message on his voicemail at 10:54 am to please call me back to help resolve this issue, I waited all week for a follow up return call but none called . I said to myself not to overreact to give him some time to follow up, maybe he was on vacation, maybe he was sick with flu that’s going around, but be patience if you want to fix this problem, well it’s now January 27 2019 and to this day I have not had a returned call or any follow up calls regarding this problem as a customer of Wilson Toyota Needless to say how disappointed I’m in the Service Department of Wilson Toyota of Bellingham, the sales department is as professional as they can be but when it comes to the service department that’s when you can see how separated that company is over s senor that might cost $150 to replace, I’ll leave it the way it is, just to remind me to never go back to this dealership and to never buy a Toyota product again So after 35 years it’s time to move on and move forward Saylavee More
Actually Had Fun Buying a New Truck I recently purchased a new Toyota truck from Toyota of Bellingham. From my initial email contact, the test drive, and the process of ‘sharpening our pencils’ Marcy was professional, pleasant, low key and helpful. I have purchased many new cars over the years and so past experience has left me apprehensive about walking into a car dealership. But Marcy’s approach and personality, and the process of negotiating the deal was actually fairly easy, and fun. I know, hard to believe, but true. i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to everyone I know because my experience was positive and honest. And that is saying a lot about the process of purchasing a new vehicle. More
180 degree change from the other Toyota dealership I visited Bellingham Toyota is one I would def recommend. Their customer service is out if this world. Ms. Beckie was outstanding.
