After purchasing my 2006 Honda Ridgeline for an excellent price, I was initially deflated by some front end damage which occurred prior to my arrival, but after the photos were uploaded from the dealership. price, I was initially deflated by some front end damage which occurred prior to my arrival, but after the photos were uploaded from the dealership. Furthermore, the night I bought my truck, the power went out at the dealership. To my surprise the folks at ToyotaMarin let me leave with my new Ridgeline, even though all paperwork was not complete. The next day they sent a courier to my home address to meet and finish the paperwork - that was over 100 miles away! To add even more sweet surprise to my experience, Matt personally handled my truck's service needs. I ended up getting my truck back after just two days in service, looking better than I expected. Matt Shone and ToyotaMarin went far beyond good customer service. I would seriously consider purchasing another car from them. They have earned my trust and respect. More
Paula did an outstanding job and helped us through every step of the way. We came in knowing we wanted a Prius C and she went over the different models, their features, and let me test drive a few different step of the way. We came in knowing we wanted a Prius C and she went over the different models, their features, and let me test drive a few different models. She even made comparable model suggestions to make sure we got what we wanted. I never felt pressured or rushed into buying either, which is rare, and I definitely appreciated that. After we had made the decision she was helpful in getting us a good trade-in value, taking care of our Costco Buyers Program discount, and the military rebate. We got a great trade-in, a discounted price, and outstanding customer service the entire way. She went over all the features of the car, the service plans, and explained utilizing the different Toyota service departments and what was covered. More
It was a pleasure to work with John Hathaway and Matt Shone. Both are very professional. I was a buyer from Oregon and was looking for an SUV as we are expecting our little boy. I found the car I want Shone. Both are very professional. I was a buyer from Oregon and was looking for an SUV as we are expecting our little boy. I found the car I wanted at Toyota Marin. They went out of their way to make everything worked. Matt sent a driver with the car to Oregon and I was able to get the car the day I wanted. It was my first time buying a car from Out of state. I had my doubts and was nervous at first because I bought the car without seeing it in person. But everything was as described. Matt and John were great, gave me a good deal and walked me through the process and everything was extremely smooth. Don't hesitate to buy a car from Toyota Marin if you are from out of state. More
Jonathan was amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly and really listened to what we wanted. No pressure sales person who I really felt was looking for my best interest. When I decided on a Prius C he called listened to what we wanted. No pressure sales person who I really felt was looking for my best interest. When I decided on a Prius C he called in another sales person to help with some of the thoughts on Hybrid cars. That showed a lot to me that he called on an expert to help with questions and not try to answer everything himself. All around Jonathan was terrific. Would certainly use him again and have already recommended him to friends. More
This review is for the Toyota Marin Certified Used Car dealership on Rice Dr. in San Rafael. Sales managers and representatives at this dealership use pressure sales tactics and to talk to customers with dealership on Rice Dr. in San Rafael. Sales managers and representatives at this dealership use pressure sales tactics and to talk to customers with no appreciation. I saw a vehicle on the dealerships website and I took quite a bit of time out of my day to visit the dealership to see the vehicle. Without even giving me a chance to see vehicle a sales representative sat me at a desk and tried to up sell me into a vehicle that cost thousands of dollars more than vehicle I was interested in. Sales representative then asked me how I was going to pay for vehicle? I informed sales representative that I would need to finance vehicle. Sales representative then walked over and talked to a sales manager and came back and asked “how much do you have for a down payment?” And tried to pressure me into allowing dealership to order my credit report. I told sales representative I have no problem with my credit report being ordered but I first wanted to test drive and visually inspect vehicle to decide if even wanted it. Bulleted below are concerns I had with dealership before I even was given a chance to see vehicle that I was interested in. • Sales representative tried to up sell me into a vehicle that cost thousands of dollars more • Sales representative did not ask me one question to learn about what I needed in a vehicle. Showed more interest in how much money I could put down. • Sales representative wanted to order my credit report when we didn’t even know if I wanted vehicle. If I had let them order my credit report it would have negatively affected my credit score. Sales representative finally gave me an opportunity to see the vehicle. While I inspected under the hood the sales representative walked into the main dealership office. About 5 minutes later an aggressive and rude little sales manager came out to assist the sales representative. The little sales manager did not introduce himself he just through him self into the picture. He was male and looked latin and had long black hair. Below is the communication I had with manager. Me: (inspecting vehicle) Sales manager: IS THIS GOING TO WORK FOR YOU OR WHAT!!! Me: Or what?? Its to early to tell i have only been looking at vehicle for 5 minutes and have not even been given an opportunity to test drive vehicle. Sales manager: (looks at me with a childish smirk on his face) Me: (I don’t feel I can trust dealership due to persuasive and aggressive sales tactics that are being used on me.) I am not interested in vehicle. I see some things in it that don’t look right. Sales manager: Just a few seconds ago you said it was to soon to tell!! The vehicles not perfect. (I was trying to be nice and did not want to tell him that I did not trust him). Me: I understand its not perfect I did not come here looking for a perfect vehicle. Sales manager: I didn’t say that you asked for a perfect vehicle!! (he didn’t say that but he implied it by saying “its not perfect” . You wouldn’t expect a manager to talk so carelessly as he did. The vehicle actually looked okay the real reason I lost interest in vehicle was because I did not trust the little sales manager.) Me: you shouldn’t talk to customers this way and I ask you not to say anything else to me and to go back into your office because I am not interested in doing business with this dealership. I know for sure that I wont ever do business with this dealership. I do business with people that I can trust. If you do go to this dealership avoid dealing with the sales manager who I had to deal with it. He is unprofessional and careless and uses aggressive and persuasive sales tactics. Sorry I don’t have a name to give he did not introduce himself or give me a card. I gave a good description of him above. More
Purchasing a car from Toyota Marin was a great experience. No hassles, just as they advertise. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I love my new (to me) car! experience. No hassles, just as they advertise. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I love my new (to me) car! More
I don't normally write reviews, however this had to be noted for future patrons interested in buying a car and feeling completely comfortable and trusting of the person giving you the vehicle "info". Lan noted for future patrons interested in buying a car and feeling completely comfortable and trusting of the person giving you the vehicle "info". Lana was our sales rep on my boyfriend and I's 2007 Camry Hybrid. She was absolutely wonderful! Rarely do you find a sales person who doesn't actually "sell" you something, but relates to your situation and tries to work with what works best for you. So friendly and easy going too (we had our dog, and the dealership brought him in to give him treats)! We almost didn't get the Camry b/c it looked as though it had been taken, but she saw how much we wanted it and fought for us to get the car, and we did! She didn't want us to wait long to do paperwork, so she helped the financial supervisor who was busy with other customers, by grabbing some documents to get us started any way. On top of that, she let us hold the car there over night, detailed it for us, and then when we picked up the Camry in the morning- she gave us an auxiliary chord for the car as a gift!!! Can't say enough good things about the experience, the dealership, and Lana of course! Highly recommended!! More
We found a car from this dealership in part because of dealerrater.com reviews and they did not disappoint. Many things set Marin Toyota apart from the rest; the no-haggle price (price on the car and web dealerrater.com reviews and they did not disappoint. Many things set Marin Toyota apart from the rest; the no-haggle price (price on the car and website is what you pay), the salary-based salespeople, and the friendly, "let's do this together" attitudes. Instead of an antagonistic, us-against-them experience you feel like the goal when you walk in the door is a joint effort to find a vehicle you love, can afford and insure, and drive away knowing you got a great deal. They have a huge inventory, including modestly priced vehicles that an average person can afford as well as higher end stock for those so inclined. Our salesman was Jonathan Miers who couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. He fielded all our questions and volunteered information we needed but may not have thought to ask since the last time we bought a car from a dealer was seven years ago. If he couldn't answer a question he found someone who could. He was patient and empathetic and did it all with a sense of humor. The day we were there he was training a new employee, Alfarro, who was equally pleasant. Tyler Toler had us sign the financing papers which were a cinch since Jonathan had also done that prep work. Tyler completely went over everything we signed so there were no surprises that day or in the future. He, too, was affable and fun (not imperative in a business experience but certainly appreciated.) I highly recommend Marin Toyota and hope they have much success so that they are still in business (and thriving!) when we need our next vehicle. More
