The thought of being followed through the lot, pressured to test drive vehicles, and then sit down and "casually discuss" a potential purchase is enough to keep me driving my old vehicles forever. However, that changed when I was referred to Tyler Toler at Toyota Marin. My wife had already identified the new car she wanted, an XLE Highlander with second row captains chairs. Great, I thought this should be no problem. At least she knows what she wants. Lo and behold I quickly find out that not only is the Highlander one of the most popular cars in America, the trim/package she selected with black exterior and ash gray interior is also rare and highly coveted. Having already sold our old car, I was beginning to stress out. That is where Tyler came in. He worked closely with me to find the exact car we were looking for. Tyler stayed in close communication throughout the entire process and when the right vehicle showed up in San Jose, he quickly traded for it and the next day my wife had the exact vehicle she wanted. At no time was I pressured or upsold, it was all straightforward and stress free thanks to Tyler. I can honestly say, he will be my go to salesperson for any and all new and used Toyota purchases. I was taken care by a young salesperson , Sergio Pacheco , which allowed me to do a test drive of the Prius wagon and the regular Prius . we talked about prices...Since I didn't like the silver colors he had on the lot, suggested I stopped by the NEW cars dealership to see all the others models... Very helpfull ! Then I went to another dealer to test drive the Prius C. No good, Too small, I didn't like the very basic dashboard features. So I came back to the Marin Toyota dealer to check on prices for the NEW cars, because I had seen a commercial on the newspaper indicating the discount + rebate... $6,000 ! ( in SF , discount was lower...) Laz explained me everything, and told me they had many cars waiting to be adopted...before the new 2016 models arrives.. we came back the next saturday morning , met Laz again, and pick up our color ( all the reds cars were gone, bummer...) But I like my pearl green... Hurrah. Derrick, the finance guy was also very friendly, not too pushy on saling the extra services... We picked up what we think bring some value and state of mind in owning this car for the next 5/6 years... Overall, it was easy, fast, no stressed experience...And the first bill comes in january... I am so very glad that I did. The previous mind numbing experience took close to five hours, only to find out upon bringing it home and having our mechanic check it out, to be covered in rust. But here, we were in by one o'clock and out by three-thirty. Max Sheikh was an absolute delight to deal with. Very professional, respectful and honest. You could tell at the onset that he believed he was selling a car that he would have no qualms selling to a close relative. I was unable to pick up the car I originally drove over in until after ten o'clock that night. Max was kind enough to stay and wait for me all that time. He is a good man and I will happily recommend Toyota Marin without hesitation. Thank you again! More
