If I could put less than a 1 star review for Marco, I would. My husband and I brought our son in to look at a used Tundra that we had been in contact with Marco about that day. We drove all the way from would. My husband and I brought our son in to look at a used Tundra that we had been in contact with Marco about that day. We drove all the way from Alpine and they sold the truck just as we were pulling in. We asked Marco if he had anything else that was comparable and Marco seemed bothered to even look up or show us any other options. He was rude and even as we walked out with my husband angry and my son disappointed, his other coworkers didn't seemed shocked at Marco's rudeness. I'm now glad my son didn't buy his first truck from a salesman that shows such a lack of customer service. More
I don't normally leave a review good or bad and actually give establishments a chance since we are not perfect, but I have two terrible experiences at this dealership and felt that I needed to share this ti give establishments a chance since we are not perfect, but I have two terrible experiences at this dealership and felt that I needed to share this time. First experience I left my car overnight to have routine check up oil change and tire rotation etc. Dropped it off after work and the next day I went to pick it up returned home when I opened up the trunk to put something in it there was a ski mask and baseball? WTH!!! So next morning drove back spoke with the service manager and they removed them, but no explanation or apology, makes me wonder where my car had been? Dealership did not securely locked it up and usedy car? Second incident I found a car online that I was interested in buying, printed the info with vin # and drove to the dealership was told that the car was not delivered to them yet, asked if I wanted to reserve the car by Roberto Vasquez and I said yes, filled out a reserve form signed it and was told it would take about 2 weeks before arrival so I left in anticipation of getting a new car. Less than a week later on afternoon of July 4th I received a text letting me know that the car had arrived and can I come in now? I told him it's the 4th of July and I'm not in town. Then Roberto called me and said he could send me the paperwork to virtual sign for the sell of the car. Our policy is you only have 24 hours after notification to come and get the car. He said they had been trying to get a hold of me, but had the wrong number? Really I filled out the reserve paperwork and I wrote down my number correctly and I received the text and you called me? I'm sorry this is dishonest, this was a cash sale and I don't blindly sign or buy anything without a test drive and being 100% happy with it, especially a big ticket item. All I had was a flyer on the car, there wasn't even a hybrid or Rav4 on the lot to test drive. I was then asked when I could come to dealership and I said 630pm next day since I work and we ended the call on that note. The next day I left work early, showed up with anticipation of buying the car after seeing it and test driving it. I was told they sold it the day before. Wow just wow, no notification that this happened, I was beyond angry, I'm a critical care nurse and arranged to leave the hospital early and they sold the car I had signed to reserve! Roberto gave me all kinds of explanation saying his manager released it and he spoke with the general manager as well but could not do anything about it and he's sorry. He can reserve another car exactly the same for me. Toyota sold the car and not even the courtesy to let me know. I signed with good intentions of buying it, left patients who needed me to make sure I made the deadline. He said give him a week to make it up to me (he was custom ordering a car with everything I wanted) and he'll throw in some extra gifts etc. I left without the car I reserved and it's been over 2 weeks and I have not heard back from the Chula Vista dealership on Maine Street. Customers beware of shady dealings and customer service. Poor customer service...shady, deceitful, untrustworthy...BEWARE!! More
Worst dealership customer service I have experienced anywhere in San Diego. I made an Appontment for a basic oil change I got there 15 min early they told me 2 hrs. The time passed I was waiting I the l anywhere in San Diego. I made an Appontment for a basic oil change I got there 15 min early they told me 2 hrs. The time passed I was waiting I the lobby no one updated me so I went back to counter and my car had not even been started. I ended up leaving 5 hours after I checked in. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and somehow not 1 supervisor was available to speak to me and no one has reached out yet. Not only did they make me miss a whole day of work I had to pay extra for day care because I only planned on being there for 2 hrs specially with an Appontment. Everyone take your business elsewhere I’ve been a customer since 2015 have bought 2 cars from there but they are no longer a reliable trustworthy dealership and obviously does not care about their customers More
I took my car to the dealership for a 30K mile service and alignment and I noticed that both front and rear driver side wheels got damaged (curbed). I just got both of them redone not even a month ago. F and alignment and I noticed that both front and rear driver side wheels got damaged (curbed). Purchased a used vehicle with the check engine light on and they wanted to charge me $1,000 to fix it. The vehicle was sent to an independent repair shop instead of their own mechanics. An oil change wa and they wanted to charge me $1,000 to fix it. The vehicle was sent to an independent repair shop instead of their own mechanics. An oil change was performed before I purchased the vehicle with the wrong grade of oil being used. Mario was the service advisor and if you feel like being abused verbally go see him. This attitude permeates throughouy the whole dealership. I am happy to add to the low rating of this dealership and their service department if it helps somebody else. They all need to take a customer service class so they understand what customer service really is More
COVID price gouging. We came to buy a new hybrid, and they informed us there's a hybrid available. Still, there's a mandatory 2k worth of add ons on all vehicles sold. Wh We came to buy a new hybrid, and they informed us there's a hybrid available. Still, there's a mandatory 2k worth of add ons on all vehicles sold. When we began the discussion of price and payments, the manager called the salesman for a whole team meeting. When he returned, he started being vague about the price and payments and ended our session abruptly. Be wary of the smiling faces of these salespeople, they're not there to help you, and they will waste your time. More
CUSTOMER NUMBER #17222 I have a Toyota Highlander 2006 and my wife bought a 2020 Prius from Toyota National City. We have always received excellent service there. I mistakenly set an appointment for Toyot and my wife bought a 2020 Prius from Toyota National City. We have always received excellent service there. I mistakenly set an appointment for Toyota Chula Vista for 8am Saturday Feb 19th, 2022 and arrived at about 7:30am. I was officially checked in at 07:43 am. Advised the reason I was coming in was due to a brake actuator issue that Toyota has been aware of since April 19th, 2016. This addendum to the Warranty Enhancement Program -ZG1 states that it was extended to 10 yrs or 150,000 miles. I waited until 10:25am before I was even offered the diagnostic scan. I was provided a quote by Ricardo Liizarraga of $3659.73 due to it being a brake actuator replacement and a replacement of front brake pads and rotors. When confronted with the information regarding the known issues involving this part I was informed that my vehicle was not covered. When I purchased the vehicle in 2020 I completed a brake job that is now worthless due to needing replacement. After waiting almost 3 hours to get a response regarding what work needs to get done I am informed that I will be responsible for the total amount. I was upset and informed that I had been waiting so long and got yelled at by the representative informing me that he quoted me a time of noon. I informed the rep earlier that I was not leaving the vehicle there and would be waiting. I then asked to speak to a manager regarding this issue. The representative then leaves for another 15 minutes and the manager, Manny Cavazos comes by, looks at the screen, says it isn't covered and then walks away. I ask for his card, he gives it to me and then leaves again. I went to the customer service desk to ask to speak to another manager that will actually give me the time of day and I am referred back to Manny Cavazos. I am informed that the front desk may have another option so I proceeded to them. I wanted to speak to another manager regarding my warranty issue and the fact that I was charged a service fee with no work performed. No managers were available the only other manager in the building was the finance manager who I was told had 3 customers waiting. I was informed that the only person I can speak to regarding invoices from the service dept is Manny Cavazos. I return to the service department to once again speak to the manager who blew me off only to be informed that he was out to lunch. It is now 12:07 pm and at this point I just want to leave. A representative who was wonderful processed my $160.00 fee for a code scan and got paperwork out to the lot porters to get my car. I had to sign a waiver stating that I was informed the vehicle is unsafe to drive after coming into the dealership with documentation in hand regarding the specific issue from Toyota. I FINALLY left the dealership at 12:31pm with a vehicle that is now worse for wear. driving to the dealership the issue was present but working. I don't know if the brake lines were bled without my authorization but on the drive home the vehicle was locking up with every press of the brake. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! I AM A DISABLED VETERAN WHO WAS SHOWN NO RESPECT OR UNDERSTANDING WITH MY ISSUE. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISRESPECTED, HAVE YOUR TIME WASTED, AND SPEND MONEY FOR NO WORK DONE More

On Thursday November 11, 2021, I contacted by phone, the service department of Toyota of Chula Vista at (619) 591-0900 ext 3 for the purpose of inquiring into the cost for an automatic transmission fluid ex service department of Toyota of Chula Vista at (619) 591-0900 ext 3 for the purpose of inquiring into the cost for an automatic transmission fluid exchange for a 2017 Toyota 86 TRG. The charge for the fluid exchange service to my vehicle performed by Toyota of Chula Vista as declared over the phone to me was at $349.95 which I considered a little high but agreed to. The appointment to bring my vehicle in for the fluid exchange service was scheduled for the following day, Friday November 12, 2021 at 11:30 AM. The estimated time that was stated to me for the fluid exchange was approximately 1-½ to 2 hours or completed by no later than 1:30 PM. On Friday November 12, 2021 at 11:30 AM, as scheduled, I presented my vehicle to service advisor 792-Munoz as mentioned and identified in the work order and three page invoice #342983 dated 12NOV21 for an automatic transmission fluid exchange. 792-Munoz presented me with a preliminary one page work order for the total amount of $349.95 which was the same as the phone quote as mentioned above. Vehicle mileage was at 64,306 miles. 792-Munoz then stated that the time to complete the work was now changed and set to be completed between 2:00PM and 2:30PM or approximately one half hour to one hour more than the original estimate by phone. Over an hour past the the declared completion time declared by 792-Munoz at 2:30PM, I informed 792-Munoz at 3:15PM, that I just had to cancel a previous 3:30 PM scheduled appointment because I still had not received my vehicle which was to be completed by 2:30PM. I requested of 792-Munoz to check the status of my vehicle. After a few minutes, 792-Munoz told me that it would be another 15 minutes. Over 1 hour later, around 4:30PM or two hours after the schedule completion time or about 5 hours after I presented my vehicle to Toyota of Chula Vista at 11:30AM for a automatic transmission fluid exchange, 792-Munoz told me that my vehicle was now ready. 792-Munoz then presented me with an increase invoice amount of $397.13 or $47.63 more than the agreed phone quote of $349.95 or the work order quote also of $349.95 presented earlier at 11:30 AM to me by 792- Munoz when Toyota of Chula Vista accepted my vehicle for automatic transmission fluid exchange. Additionally, my vehicle was not washed as the invoice therein states. The Toyota of Chula Vista invoice states a value of $15.00 for a wash that does not include the complete removal of bird droppings, tree sap, or bugs. There is no mention of cleaning or vacuuming the interior of the vehicle. I would mention that the car wash I go to washes and waxes the vehicle including the complete removal of bird droppings, tree sap, or bugs and cleans complete, all the interior and exterior of all glass windows - vacuums the interior - cleans the dash for the amount of $14.99 plus tip. There was no response from 792-Munoz when I questioned the reason for the extra charge and why my vehicle had not been washed. I repeated for the second time and again asked 792-Munoz the reason for the extra charge and my vehicle not being washed. 792-Munoz response was to advise me that my keys were in the car. I paid the exaggerated bill and left. The invoice also implies that I denied work that was recommended by 792-Munoz which included as per the invoice : 1 - Alignment 4 wheels was performed 373 miles ago on June 24, 2021 2 - EFI injector 3 - Cleaning throttle body 4 - Cabin air filter I would strongly state that I had no conversation with 792-Munoz regarding the listed items of 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 as mentioned above. In fact I have no idea what a EFI injector is or what is involved for cleaning a throttle body to make a decision for denial as professed in the invoice by 792-Munoz. Regarding the Alignment 4 wheels, the record will show that was performed by Toyota of Chula Vista on June 24, 2021 at 63,933 miles when I had an oil change 373 miles ago on Invoice # 318025 and rotate tires - set tire pressure - for the cost of $118.28. Little expensive for a small engine oil change. Regarding Windshield Wipers. All I did was to ask 792-Munoz the cost of the wiper blades. 792-Munoz cited $93.00 which I thought was a little expensive. The set of 22" drivers and 20" passenger blades can be purchased for $42.31. After my experience with Toyota of Chula Vista Service Department, I contacted the service department by phone of several Toyota Dealers in the San Diego area regarding the cost of transmission fluid exchange for my vehicle and required service time that varied as follows: QUOTED COST ESTIMATED TIME ______________________________________________________ Toyota Dealer #1 - $249.95 3 to 4 hours Toyota Dealer #2 - $280.00 2 to 3 hours Toyota Dealer #3 - $259.95 2 to 3 hours Toyota Dealer #4 - $229.95 3 to 4 hours Toyota Dealer #5 - $229.95 2 to 3 hours ______________________________________________________ Average Cost and Time: $249.96 2.4 to 3.4 hours Toyota of Chula Vista cost and time: $397.13 5 hours After reading the numerous Yelp reviews on Toyota of Chula Vista Service Department, I found very little if any positive reviews. Most were very negative. I would think with the history of this poor record, the management or Customer Service of Toyota of Chula Vista would attempt to correct the problem rather than to make pointless, ongoing and continued unaccomplished excuses to the complainant / consumer / customer. I might be handicap and going on 85 years of age but I can tell when I am being taken for a ride, ...not in a TOYOTA but by TOYOTA. ...... Have a nice day. More
