Their radio ads of course promote the “don’t just drive, arrive” idea and that they only sell elite used cars that the owner would own himself, etc. For me this image was enhanced when I was interested in an Audi on their web site and called to see why their car was about $4,000.00 dollars higher that the KBB site suggested. The salesman told me that their cars were much nicer and were thoroughly checked out. After a pleasant buying experience we took the car home and on our first outing to shop and for lunch a few days later with my wife (before I even had to put gas in the car) I accelerated to merge onto the highway and we heard a loud noise and saw a horrific amount of white smoke pouring out of the back of the car. When I let up on the gas it stopped and when I pressed on the gas again the smoke poured out again. So much so that the other cars behind me were slowing down and changing lanes to get out of the way. At that time the oil light came on the dash and I pulled over to the side of the road and called The Toy Barn and told them that I was afraid to continue driving. Suddenly, instead of the usual confident mantra of how nice their cars are my salesman’s first words to me was that all of their cars were sold “as is” and he didn’t know what they could do. It was the weekend so he did call the service manager at home and they suggested I drive to an Auto Parts store and put oil in the car and then straight home. I could drop off the car on Monday and they would look at it. After checking out the car the service manager told me that there was a problem with a valve cover and gasket and although the problem had to have been there for a long time and it was missed during their inspection I would have to pay about $500.00 to fix it. I protested and said I was disappointed that I would have to pay since it was obviously a “pre-existing” defect and he said he understood and would talk to Justin the owner for me. He called back and said they would not cover it. I paid for the repair since I had no other choice and I just wanted to be done with them and get the car back. Now, I know it is a used car and I am sure I signed a paper that said the car was sold “as is” and I know I didn’t buy the extended warranty. That said, when I was told during the purchasing process that I was buying a car nicer than most that was thoroughly inspected, I couldn’t help feeling cheated when I had to pay for such an expensive repair right after buying the car. The Toy Barn is a nice place with nice cars but “buyer beware” that not all of their cars are as nice as you might be led to believe. More

The staff as a whole was very professional and treated us as if we were purchasing one of the super cars off the showroom floor. We were looking for a reasonably priced all wheel drive our daughter could take to college this winter. Gene Hilston was our sales rep offering us friendly but professional service throughout the entire process. Negotiations were quick and easy. (no sitting in the salesperson's cubicle for hours on end) This was the most hassle free car buying experience ever. Consider The Toy Barn first for your next purchase. More

He turned me over to Adrian Crabtree who took my credit information then contacted me back in less than 10 minutes and had me financed. Impressed I Drove 2 hrs from Cleveland to see and test drive. The car was ready and pulled up front. Mike drove me in the car showing me it's full potential. Then let me at it. Nice! When we got back from the test drive all I had to do was sign the papers which were already printed, ready to go and no surprises. Mike Kirkham, Adrian Crabtree and all of the staff I came into contact with were courteous and professional. (Note). There are two small items that need addressed: spoiler cable and exhaust tip sensor. It was professionally noted in a confirmation paper given me a copy. Both items would be addressed, just waiting for parts. Mike Kirkam said he would service the car and closed trailer the car to and from my house in Cleveland. I will write again with service update. So far simple, easy, straightforward professional service. Ok, so here is my follow up. All the above work was taken care of promptly and correctly. My vehicle was trailered back to me by Jon. He was also very courteous and waited for me to check out the car. More

They always seem to have the nicest, cleanest pre-owned vehicles with the right options, right color combinations and low miles which makes them hard to pass by. For this vehicle, I worked with Gene who was excellent - Courteous and knowledgeable. My previous experience was with Frank with similar results. In all four of my purchases I've left feeling like a got a fair deal for the car I was buying. My take is if you are reasonably informed on the cost of high demand vehicles, they try to find away to make the deal work for you. My only negative i can say about this dealership is that their cars invoke an immediate "I want that reaction" and they are priced what I believe very fair for the condition of the vehicles they somehow get their hands on. So, be careful when you go to their dealership or you fall in love several at the same time only making the decision more difficult. This won't be the last car I buy from them and would have another one now if I had a bigger garage. Highly recommend this place. More
