Saw an ad online for a 2007 prius, called in Friday noon, internet manager David Strasant told me to come down to look at the car, so I drove there that afternoon. Greeted with Spencer, waited 20 minutes, he came back telling me the car was in the detail shop. That the internet manager was fixing the internet "BS". So I was upset that I went for nothing. I called Spencer 3 times on Monday, he kept delaying for varies reasons and never called back. Then, I called again on Tuesday, reached another salesperson on the phone, he told me the car won't be back from the bodyshop until Friday. Then I got an email from michael, he told me via email "However, please understand that the price that was advertised was to be an as is price without the body work. I have repriced the vehicle accordingly due the additional expense of reconditioning." So the online price is not the F**king selling price. I wish I read the reviews before even dealt with them. 20th century sale tricks. Bought my Camry LE from there with certified pre-owned warrenty ($1500 Extra). Their staff promised car will be detailed, gas filled, oil changed. Nothing was done to car. Car pur with certified pre-owned warrenty ($1500 Extra). Their staff promised car will be detailed, gas filled, oil changed. Nothing was done to car. Car purchase took all day. Back and forth negotiation with manager even though price was set during online chat with internet sales person Robert Stelling. Upon visit of dealer ship whole negotiation process started again. Totals were mis-represented and blamed on typing errors. Sneaked unknown charges in the sales contract even after the promise to take them out and then blamed on computer. When pointed out that my totals are diffrent than theirs, They quickly blamed it on computers again however, i could clearly see that it's their routine practice and they are doing that on purpose to confuse the buyer and distract buyer's attention from negotiation process and it did worked very well. Every time sales person return back with a better deal after "talking" to manager, He will eliminate the charge in dispute but sneak another one in there. After the contract was signed, their attitude changed dramaticaly. Sales people disappeared with other clients. And service department asked for $400 if we want car cleaned. There were no mats in the car and car had minimum gas. I did test drove the car and during my test drive was assured that Mats, detailing etc will be done. Did not honor pre-certified warrenty when reported that stearing wheel is shaking at 80 miles per hour. This was for 2007 Camry LE, 35000 miles, $16000. Horrible experience. I hope nothing goes wrong with the car since i dont wanna deal with them anymore. More
Like any other new car dealership, they tried to play some tricks, but at least it was upfront and they were nice about it. I could have bought the car there but eventually went to Toyota of Morristown b some tricks, but at least it was upfront and they were nice about it. I could have bought the car there but eventually went to Toyota of Morristown because they had the color I wanted on an Highlander. Price was negotiated via AAA system, so it was easier to begin with. More
I came in looking at an online sale of a '09 Ford Focus, an out of dealership car. They refused to negotiate at all. When my original financing options closed out I had to retrieve my 2,000 deposit. This is an out of dealership car. They refused to negotiate at all. When my original financing options closed out I had to retrieve my 2,000 deposit. This is when the whole thing fell apart. It's been a week now and they keep saying they put in my refund, but it is no where to be seen. Very rude sales people I just want my money back! DO NOT GO HERE! More
Just bought a 2010 4runner from Towne Toyota on 09/20/2010. Through the sales process my time was not wasted and no games were played. Everything was straight forward, quick and efficient. I maybe 09/20/2010. Through the sales process my time was not wasted and no games were played. Everything was straight forward, quick and efficient. I maybe spent a two hours through the whole process. Frank Giambattista and Rich his sales manager are who you should see hands down and ask for Frank G as soon as you walk in the door. Frank and Rich were very helpful and bent over backwards to to satisfy. I have bought several cars/trucks and this has been my best experience yet. My accessories needed to be ordered and they arrived the next day. What more can I say great experience=happy customer!!!! More
I can't stand the typical dealership games, I do not have the time nor energy to deal with it, so I went online and inquired about a Sienna I was interested in. Rob gave me a call and discussed the vehicle the time nor energy to deal with it, so I went online and inquired about a Sienna I was interested in. Rob gave me a call and discussed the vehicle that I was interested in. Was it in Stock? What's the price? So I named my price, which is a fair price which was invoice, so I left a fair amount of profit for them (many people online are getting below invoice, but I didn't want to spend the next 3 hrs haggling) After we agreed on the price (so I assumed) I went to the dealership after work and he started the paperwork for the price we agreed on. Then then said he will present that offer to the Sales mgr. At this point alarm bells were going off in my head.... needless to say the mgr came in, introduced himself (didn't catch his name, wasn't interested in continuing). Then gave the standard BS about how he can't do this price.... The car is the hottest thing out there (a #!@#@#! mini-van no less!)... The owner will have his hide if he lets it go at this price... blah blah blah. He gave me a price $1500 above my offer which is pretty close to MSRP. I looked at him with disgust, and said to him, end of conversation, I no longer want to purchase the car from you at any price, good night. This dealer's internet sales is BS... the price they quote you will not be honored. They exist solely to funnel you in to their Sales dog and pony show. If you are looking for haggle-free car buying.... move along, nothing to see here. If you like the sales mgr back and forth crap, then you've found your dealer. They had one shot at getting my sale, and blew it by giving the 20th century Sales tactic. I knew that even if we did come to an agreement in price, I will be lead to the master himself.... the finance guy! So I got the xxxx out of there. I do not go into Best Buy and see a fridge that I like with the price tag I like; Bring it to the cashier, and have the cashier talk to the sales mgr; only to have the mgr tell me he can't sell it at that price. xxxxxxx! This place will rip you off. We took in our 10 year old Siena van because the check engine light was on. They said it was a faulty air sensor, under warranty as we had recently replaced it, and a manifold Siena van because the check engine light was on. They said it was a faulty air sensor, under warranty as we had recently replaced it, and a manifold that needed replacing for $806. I said we were not sure we would spend that much to fix it, and were they sure it was the problem and what would happen if we did not fix it. They said they were sure and if we did not replace the manifold the catalytic converter would eventually go and that would cost more. So we paid the $806, but the check engine light came back on driving out of the parking light. They hooked it back up to the computer and said the catalytic converter was gone and it will be $1600 to replace it. They told us for the first time that a faulty air sensor can mask the real diagnosis in the computer reading-- which they already knew and said this has happened before! They refuse to refund the $806 even though we made clear we would not pay to fix the manifold if it would not solve the problem, the invoice says they fixed the problem of the check engine light being on when they did not, the car still undrivable, and they knew in advance that a faulty air sensor could make them misdiagnose it and neither told us this nor did the obvious to prevent misdiagnosis-- i.e. replace the air sensor first, drive the car, and then do the diagnostic. We have filed a complaint with the state under the Consumer Fraud Act. More
Back in mid '06 I visited Towne to buy a new '07 Camry. Duke and I easily came to agreement and they set about prepping the car. When I picked it up it was perfect. Two days later there was an ignition problem that led to misfiring. After a few attempts to restart the car, it ran smoothly, but the dash had several warning lights blazing. I drove immediately to the dealership. I received most graciously and they were very apologetic. I was given a new Highlander loaner and two days later got my Camry back, totally fixed. In the past I avoided any repairs at dealerships because their pricing tends to be too high. Towne, however had a very enticing oil change price, and that started my going there for service. Their service reps were always helpful, especially Vinnie Barbarosa, who much to my chagrin, left several months ago. Dave Durnal has picked up the baton. I know I get good treatment and have had brakes done there, and bought two sets of tires as well. Unfortunately I had a fair amount of trouble with the car, including needing a transmission replacement. My extended warranty covered all of the expense, but it was the expertise of John (don't know his last name)...a senior tech that led to a completely successful repair experience. As an aside, I'm sure if I had no extended warranty I'd not be a happy camper, and the tone of this review would likely be less kind....human nature. I guess the punch line is that my experience with the dealership has been excellent, but not with the vehicle. I think all the recent recall notoriety has had Towne leaning over backward to be helpful, and that says good things about the dealership. My car has been running perfectly for some time now, and despite my issues with it, I like it very much. i'm sure my experiences with Towne Toyota has a lot to do with that. More

The absolute worst dealership I have ever encountered. Rude salespeople who treated me as if I were stealing the car, even though I paid them cash. When I want to pick up the car it was filthy, and things Rude salespeople who treated me as if I were stealing the car, even though I paid them cash. When I want to pick up the car it was filthy, and things were broken in it. I was told it was too bad, because "I was stealing it at this price." RUDE RUDE RUDE. Stay away. They will rip you off and not care one bit. Also, my car had been in an accident and they pretended it was mint. I would never buy from them again, and neither should you. They're direspectful to customers and liars, as well. More
