We purchased a certified used car from Towne Toyota and Spencer was our salesman; besides the fact that I do love my car, the overall buying experience was horrible and I wish I did not buy my car from Spe Spencer was our salesman; besides the fact that I do love my car, the overall buying experience was horrible and I wish I did not buy my car from Spencer. Once the paperwork was complete, Spencer did not follow through with anything. As part of the sale, some minor work needed to get done, which Spencer was suppose to set up with the service department, which he never did. I had to bring my car back 3 times the first month because every time I brought it in service did not know I was coming because Spencer never told them (after telling me he did) and the parts were not available. Spencer never returned phone calls and he lied. The only good thing I can say is the service department was great. I am only touching on the issues I had with Spencer and Towne Toyota, I am refraining from saying it all. Stay away from Spencer. More
Best dealership experience I ever had and I wasn't even the buyer. So here is my story. This all started with my close friend receiving a promo letter from Towne Toyota about a price reduction special. She usually comes to me for advice especially on automobiles. So I told her I would look in to it. I started my research like everyone else on their website. I found a Corolla that I felt she would fit in well. I put my information in and than the next morning Heather rang me up. Well I told her my friend's story and told her how that I am helping her with the process. First, I never got so many compliments for doing that and second she was ultimately understanding of her situation. She went as far as to recommend me the next straight up gentlemen great guy in Andy Adelin. She spoke really highly of him so I didnt have any reservations after that. After a 40 minute fun conversation, I decided we should move on and schedule a future appointment. My friend and I ended up scheduling for Saturday. Fast forward to Saturday. I get there around 11am to meet up with my friend. We sat down with Andy and then everything happened. I personally never had a great experience at any dealership. I had my fill of sleazy sales people trying to sell me over priced crap. Andy was a totally different sales person. The presence of that man just made it feel real comfy. Andy is what I like to call a straight forward sales men. Once he knows your story and your goal, he will be straight up with you on what he can do. No run around, no persuasion, no nothing. Andy was great with us. My friend originally wanted a new 2013 Corolla and we test drove it. Of course, i will gloat here. I knew she would like it and she did. So after we came back, we went over the details with Andy and hit us a with the real facts. We found the car to be too expensive. Here is where it really stoked me. He had a list of used cars and instead of looking for one that was out of her price range, he ended up finding the perfect car, at the price she wanted. She ended with a 2010 red(her favorite color), fully loaded Corolla S. I was stoked for her and the smile was on their forever. Andy made her proud and there wasn't an ounce of sleazy sales men odor on him. He truly is a gentleman and great man. If you come to Towne, request him. He will take care of you and be up front with you. After through usual credit checks and such, we ended up meeting Peter Mankin. The dealer's finance manager. He makes it 3 of 3 of my favorite people at the dealership. First his children are WPU(William Paterson Graduates) so I am biased on that fact since I just graduated from WPU myself. Peter is a high energy, funny, and straight forward guy himself. All he did was make my friend's situation better. Peter gave us a great deal on the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty and came up with great points on why we should get it. He was really liking my friend's name and really made her feel comfortable and confident about her purchase. The process was quick and easy and than I am generally not a fan of dealerships as I always feel they are out to cut you a bad deal. Again, I have never received anything I deemed customer service until I came here. Heather, Andy, and Peter made our experience comfy and easy. On top of that, each person cared about her and wanted the best for her. That's what i respected the most out of this place. Anyone looking for a toyota needs to come here. IF you get these 3 people, you will leave with a car that will possibly meet your needs. 5 star rating for this place easily. Thank you to Heather, Andy, and Peter for making everything possible. Brought vehicle for repair. Repair should not take more than 0.5 to 1hours and I was charged 2 hours labor without any explanation of why. All books say labor time is 0.4 hours but not 2 hours. I went to lease my 5th vehicle from Towne Toyota last Saturday and had an amazing experience. Heather (who made the appointment for me),Sam the Man (my salesman) and Pete (the closer) were all fanatastic Saturday and had an amazing experience. Everyone there treated me like family. I got a great deal and really had a good time the entire time that I was there. I appreciate doing business with people who don't mind getting personal and treating me like a worthy human being. This place wins the standard of excellence award in the level of customer service that they provide. I leased all 5 vehicles from this dealership because I know that they can be counted on to give me a reasonable deal. I'm very loyal to Toyota because Toyota has bee loyal to me. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in getting a good deal. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you Heather, Sam and Pete! You are the best. More
Absolute worst dealership I have ever been to in my life!!!!! I leased my 2010 toyota corolla from here back in 2009 and now the lease is up and I wanted to buy out my lease. So on Friday 8/3 I go in and fill out my credit app and after sitting there for over an hour they tell me the computers are down and they can't help me at all and to come back on Monday. So Monday comes and I get 2 phone calls from the dealer ship confirming my appointment with finance for 6:45. So I get there and they tell me that they could not help me again because there were 3 people already in front of me buying new cars and they would have no time to help me because they close a 9. That is crazy but if I was there buying a brand new car and showed up at 830 do you think that they would tell me to come back because there are to busy, I think not. I feel like i was treated very badly at this dealership and I will never come back to them ever again. I work for a car dealership and we would never treat any of our customers like the was I was treated from this place, worst experience I have ever had in my life. More

I was not satisfyed with the service department after 3 repeated visits. I recived my vehicle back with NEW issues that were introduced by the extensive recall repair by towne toyota. After they had my vehicle for 10 days my Check engine light came on two days after they returned it to me, spare tire came loose, they broke my U-Joint and proceeded to tell me it was my fault and then tried to sell me an entire new driveline for $1500. I took it to my local shop they replaced the U-Joint for $120. BIG Rip Off!!! They also charged me over $600 in unauthorized repairs. My Battery went dead too. Marty the tech told me two weeks after they had retured the vehicle that they could not keep a charge on my battery. The next week my battey was dead. I found out they shorted out part of my Alpine Audio Navigation system and never told me about it. I was insulted and humiliated by Micael Elston and was told that NOTHING would make me happy by Eric Dix after all this happened. They got paid over $10,000 for this recall repair paid for by toyota and promised my vehicle would be in better shape than when i gave it to them. All I wanted was the vehicle back fromn the recal as good as it was when I gave it to them. It wasn't!!!I have contacted Toyta corporate and have a case implimrnted regarding the Extreamly poor service department. DO Not Go to this Toyota Dealer. They also own toyota of Morristown and every other car dealer named TOWNE. All in all the FREE repair has cost me almost $2000. Thanks Towne Toyota,Moving Forward??? Seriously! More

I placed a deposit on a certified used Toyota and the day I was going to pick up the car, I was told "something happened to it". At first, when I asked for more information, I was told it was "in an accident I was going to pick up the car, I was told "something happened to it". At first, when I asked for more information, I was told it was "in an accident" and at the body shop. When I said I needed to see the car and would go to the body shop, I was told that they sold it. I talked with the Finance Manager two or three nights before I was supposed to pickup the car. He did not even know that the car was already sold. Mistakes can happen, but lying to a customer is not acceptable! The car was sold a week before I was supposed to pick it up. Also, I had to contact my credit card company to get my deposit refunded even thought I had a written receipt saying the deposit was being refunded. More
