I decided to pay a visit to this dealership to buy a used car that seem to fit my budget. So, we go the the "office" which is a trailer that was the most vile thing I've had to experienced during my car buy car that seem to fit my budget. So, we go the the "office" which is a trailer that was the most vile thing I've had to experienced during my car buying quest.(although not the last...) The second the door opened, I was assaulted by a toxic cloud that only human beings are capable of. The culprits were without a doubt the four salesmen that were in a semi conscious state. All of them had their feet on their desks, and only one of them even looked at me and managed to mumble: "Can I help you?" He staggered on to his feet and with reluctance came out of the fart sauna to show us the car we came to see. I looked at it and was satisfied of the condition although I did not test drive it. the interior was not clean though but I understand that it could be cleaned and after all it is a used car... We went back to the "office" which had been purged of the stench as the door and windows were suddenly opened. The salesman took a photocopy of a sales bill and started to add some number to the sale price. I understand that there is some fees associated with buying a car but he added some detailing fee ($399 for a car that wasn't even clean) transportation fee($600) and some other obscure fees. I told him that I was hoping to actually see a price decrease rather than an increase. The answer was: "No this is the price!" Now this is 2010, we have seen a great decline in car sales in general, especially from the American manufacturer and you would think that the dealers would want to unload some of their cars...but not on Long Island I guess. I was actually baffled by the guy's attitude and I just stood up and left. Now I really wanted to get that car, I was very clear about that, but that didn't change the dealer's attitude. I felt really numb after the experience and after telling to myself that it could not be so, I called again just to confirm what really transpired. I got the same guy on the phone again and I asked again: " I would like that car but are you flexible at all with the price?" The answer was of course no. Who the heck pays the sticker price on used cars today??? Bottom line is avoid these guys, it is not worth the trouble really! Do your homework, try some cars, read reviews and then make the move. purchasing car at this dealership was pleasant. The car had some issues that needed to be addressed. The service adviser Frank had my car for a week to diagnose a rough idle and rear window defroster and had some issues that needed to be addressed. The service adviser Frank had my car for a week to diagnose a rough idle and rear window defroster and vibration. I was given a loaner car (POS) for the time they had my car. The car had no codes so it ran ok to them. the rear defroster was working as designed. and the vibration could not be simulated. It was clear this was a list of excuses not answers. From looking at other service posts Frank has been shoveled around dealerships like a deck of cards. Because he doesn't know what hes talking about. the rough idle was a dirty throttle body. the rear defroster was a broken wire. and the vibration was a transmission mount. To bad Town & Country doesn't have any mechanics among the service department. More
Agreed to buy a used Grand Caravan for $13,700 and $1900 trade in, original price was $13,999. Agreed to an extended warranty Finance department (Terrance Kelly) talks to us, keeps us waiting over 2 hours t trade in, original price was $13,999. Agreed to an extended warranty Finance department (Terrance Kelly) talks to us, keeps us waiting over 2 hours to "draw up the paperwork." Suddenly, the deal has the price listed as $16,125, plus $2500 for the extended warranty. The tax was figured onto those numbers, and next thing I know, the total deal costs over $26,000, more than a new Grand Caravan. Crooks, the lot of 'em. More
Be carefull with financing. They attempt to raise the sales price by 1500. When you argue with them then they will just charge you a 400 bank fee. I would never do business with them again. I will not sales price by 1500. When you argue with them then they will just charge you a 400 bank fee. I would never do business with them again. I will not even take my car to be serviced there.
