Let me start this off by saying that I didn’t buy some beater expecting it to run like a Benz. I bought a vehicle that was more than $35,000 from this dealership and was swindled into buying somebody else beater expecting it to run like a Benz. I bought a vehicle that was more than $35,000 from this dealership and was swindled into buying somebody else’s problem. I went to this dealership expecting a reliable vehicle that wouldn’t immediately need routine maintenance done (rotors past Fords recommended replacement width causing the car to sounds like a freight train screaming as it’s trying to stop) or have internal engine problems (lifter noise that sounds like gravel bouncing around my engine bay) and a couple other issues. I get it’s a used vehicle and there are going to be normal wear and tear things but these are things that shouldn’t have passed their “inspection” process. I spoke with a sales manager before I bought the vehicle and was assured if there was anything major mechanically then it would be fixed. I had said i wanted something checked out before I bought the vehicle but due to it being late Sunday, the service department already closed. Tristin told me to come back another day and whatever concerns i had would be put to rest with them inspecting further and fixing whatever issues there were. Maybe a day or two goes by and brakes are screaming and engine is making weird ticking noise. They inspect and say it’s nothing and the engine has a lot of moving parts and the brakes were good. Take it to an independent mechanic who said rotors should have been replaced months ago and the engine noise is my lifters which would cost more than $1000. Bring it to their attn and now I’m getting the run around. Same said sales manager says he will pass it up the chain and see what happens. 1 week goes by and nothing. Won’t return contact. I then call the GM, Jeff, who says it’s the first he’s heard of the issue. He says he will look into it and get back with me. About a week goes by and still nothing from either one. So I stop by the lot to see what going on and am met with a level of disbelief, like I should have forgotten about this issue they have tried to brush off. Same sales manager storms off into the office saying there’s nothing he can do about it under his breath to his colleague, unable to muster the courage to actually tell me that. Colleague then calls me in to the office and says I would have to come back another time bc the service manager was out and it was his problem. And there attitudes were great until after I purchased the vehicle. Then I was just a problem. Thanks for selling me somebody else’s problem Town and Country. Have no idea how you have been in business this long. More
