Completely rude, arrogant and condescending service “expert” who openly criticized my 83-year old mother-in-law; my wife; and me when we asked about my mother-in-law’s 2017 MKZ battery issue. We cited “expert” who openly criticized my 83-year old mother-in-law; my wife; and me when we asked about my mother-in-law’s 2017 MKZ battery issue. We cited Ford/Lincoln service bulletin SSM 50250 – 2017 MKZ/Fusion – Battery Drain – Built On Or Before 3-Jun-2016. She is on her fourth battery in 5 years. He said all of that was “junk on the Internet”. I calmly countered that we had done our research and found confirmation of the issue—that computer modules in the MKZ are constantly broadcasting and depleting the battery. He said that I “…must not know anything about computers…” and I said I was a computer systems engineer—and he said, “Engineers are a four-letter word in this shop.” His solution—install a cable for a trickle charger requiring her to plug her car in after every time she drives it. He then said, so magnanimously, his “free” solution was better than the “thousands and thousands of dollars it would take to replace the computer sending module.” According to Ford per the Service Bulletin cited, the part is $105 and labor about the same. Her late husband worked 45 years at Ford. This service man’s words and actions are despicable and are a direct reflection on this dealership, Lincoln and Ford. More
