Very nice people. I was in the market for a newer used car and visited their dealership to look over the inventory. The salesman (sorry, I don't remember the name) was knowledgeable, friendly, and very lo car and visited their dealership to look over the inventory. The salesman (sorry, I don't remember the name) was knowledgeable, friendly, and very low pressure. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a vehicle. More
I posted a review about an issue I had and was contacted directly by the owner. His personal attention to this shows that every customer matters and this goes along way with me. Had I realized that there was this kind of dedication to customer satisfation there never would have been an issue. More
I have a lifetime warranty on my vehicle from tom gill as long as I get my service done at that location. I just called to get my oil changed and the woman on the other end informed me that the garage was g long as I get my service done at that location. I just called to get my oil changed and the woman on the other end informed me that the garage was going to be closed for another 4 days due to garage floor resurfacing. I understand that maintenance like this has to be done to their buildings, but what about the customers that are locked into having their service done there to keep their waranty? I asked the woman (who was very rude) if I could just get my oil changed at a different place and keep the waranty. The woman said "I don't know" then sat there in silence.... I asked her if she could find someoene who could answer that question. The woman said there was a "service advisor downstairs she could ask" then proceeded to hang up on me. Every experience I have ever had with tom's place has been a bad one... I don't know why Tom is letting his staff destroy his name. I will still continue to tell everyone to stay away from this place. More
I am an over the road trucker so I have very little amount of time to spend at home with my family. I went to Gills place for regular service. I drive a Chevy pick up. I only wanted an oil change. amount of time to spend at home with my family. I went to Gills place for regular service. I drive a Chevy pick up. I only wanted an oil change. They tried to get me to buy brakes for my vehicle and they just put new brakes on it 3500 miles ago - at GILLs place. I asked the guy if he was trying to pull a fast one and he said that I really needed brakes. I went to the back and looked at them and they were shot. Tells me the brakes I paid for the last time I was there were never put on. What an outfit. I told them to forget me ever going back there and went to another place. cheats and liars - they acted like I was an idiot util I showed them my receipt. Then they put the brakes on fro free. More
I am so sick of driving to Tom GIll Chevrolet for "Electrical Problems" with my car! I bought my car in February and have probably taken it back to the dealership 10 times for the same electrical pro "Electrical Problems" with my car! I bought my car in February and have probably taken it back to the dealership 10 times for the same electrical problems. I'm sick of Tom Gill they want to keep charging me over and over and over for the same issues they didn't fix in the first place. And I keep having thermostat problems as well. I would love to be able to take this pos back and take my business elsewhere to Toyota or Honda where they make real lasting quality vehicles. I previously have had 3 different hondas and never had one problem out of them. One was a 89 accord that was my dads, I drove in HS he sold it with 300,000miles and still running. I will be lucky go get another 300 out of this pos! I hate all the sales people they are so fake, and the service sucks! More
i have been a customer here for several years and have always been very well taken care of by jeanie. she is great and the rest of the staff are very friendly. the only suggestion i would have is to get r always been very well taken care of by jeanie. she is great and the rest of the staff are very friendly. the only suggestion i would have is to get rid of the sceduling people that are out-of-town because they are also out-of-touch! but kudos to the entire service dept for always keeping it very simple to do business with them. I bought my car new at Tom Gill Chevrolet and have taken it there for servicing ever since. I had to have some work done, and it was clear that the car was never inspected or test driven after the work was it there for servicing ever since. I had to have some work done, and it was clear that the car was never inspected or test driven after the work was done. They put their usual spin on it and thew money at it, but I just can't take my car there for servicing anymore. They had three days to do a job that should have taken less than a day, and it still isn't done right. I have a noise coming from the front of the car now that sounds like something rubbing against the tire or the tire wobbling against something. I am not sure if they broke or damaged something or what, but I just can't trust them anymore. If their mechanics/techs didn't do something right or damaged something on my car while working on it and it causes me to crash, well will I even survive the crash? More
I was looking to trade in my car for a used SUV. I saw the vehicle I wanted online and emailed Tom Gill. I did get a call the next morning early which I though was good. I made an appointment to go look a the vehicle I wanted online and emailed Tom Gill. I did get a call the next morning early which I though was good. I made an appointment to go look at the vehicle and have someone appraise my trade in. When I went in the door a saleman greeted me and told me he would find someone for me. The "sales manager" came to me and said everyone was busy but he would help for now. I then was greeted by another sale person. She was nice. When I went out to the vehicle to look it over and take it for a drive it wouldn't start. Yep you read it right. The vehicle they are trying to sell would not start. When it did start and I drove it around the lot there was a loud knocking in the front end. Nice! That should have been my first sign but nope I wanted this car. I filled out all the credit paperwork they even looked over my car. The sale person came back a couple of times and the last time she came back with the "sales manager" stating that they want to check with a couple more banks the next day because it was late and they would call me back. I NEVER got a call. So I went some where else and they were happy to work with me. STAY AWAY from Tom Gill!!!! More
I have read a lot of negative reviews on this board and frankly I am quite surprised. Tom Gill is the son of Norm Chesrown, and the family has been selling cars since the 1950's. Chesrown and the Gills h frankly I am quite surprised. Tom Gill is the son of Norm Chesrown, and the family has been selling cars since the 1950's. Chesrown and the Gills have a great reputation in the Columbus area and Tom Gill's former Oldsmobile dealership in Dublin was also rated very highly. Tom's brother Dave also owns a Chevy dealership and his brother Jim owns a Chevrolet-Cadillac-Buick-GMC dealership. In fact, check out the reviews for Chesrown. http://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/Chesrown-Chevrolet-Cadillac-Buick-Pontiac-GMC-review-23375/ Bottom line is that you don't stay in business for 50 years if you don't treat the customer right. I find it hard to believe Tom operates his dealership any differently than the rest of the family's dealerships or the way he operated his Oldsmobile dealership. More
I attend NKU and I needed a good used car to get me around so like an idiot I went to Tom Gill. They have all this buy American ads on tv. and I thought "sounds like a good place - why not go?" I hav around so like an idiot I went to Tom Gill. They have all this buy American ads on tv. and I thought "sounds like a good place - why not go?" I have some advice: STAY AWAY! I was there for 4 hours. They had a couple of cars I liked and I drove them. One had a noise in the front that sounded like a wheel would fall off and they said they would drop the price by $200 - big WHOOP. No not a car that already has problems for me. They showed me a new Aveo - it was pretty nice. I got excited about a new car. They took my credit and made me wait and wait and wait! They told me I could buy it and then a week later I got a call and they told me I needed $1000 for down payment to keep the car. I took it back and they were total jerks. I would not tell my worst enemies to go there. More
