To give this rating a one star is giving them even too much credit. This all started on August 13th. I brought in my truck for an oil change and tire rotation, nothing new as I’ve been doing this for year much credit. This all started on August 13th. I brought in my truck for an oil change and tire rotation, nothing new as I’ve been doing this for years. That same day I picked it up after the rotation, oil change and also the multi-point inspection that they claim is reliable. After getting in my truck and only making it a few feet out of the parking lot, I turned back around to tell the guys in service that something did not feel right about my truck. Normally when driving the suspension feels loose and turning also doesn’t feel stiff. After I drove it off the lot for a quick second or two, the suspension felt very tight along with making turns. I managed to go back inside to tell a service rep that something did not feel right and was concerned. I was then told that I had a tire rotation and that that was the cause and that it will work itself out. I then documented the time and day on the back of my inspection sheet that I had left with. I then drove the truck back and forth to work like normal, until August 20th rolled around. I was driving around neighborhood and I suddenly felt as if the engine dropped out and I was then dragging it as I was driving. Also my brake when I would step on it was fighting me, and I was stopping at a very slow speed. The brake when I pushed down was popping back up and I could hardly keep the pedal down. I got out and looked under to see that there was nothing out of the ordinary that I could see that could be wrong. Once I got back into the truck, on my dash, the service 4wd, abs light and also the traction control light was lit up. I then immediately called the dealership to tell them something had happened and they told me that if I brought it in they could have it checked out. I roughly took my truck in around 1 pm and then later got a call around 430 to tell me that they found nothing wrong and they even drove it and found nothing wrong. I then asked why the lights were on then and they asked if they could keep over the weekend since it was a Friday, to keep it to figure out what was wrong. I then finally got. A call on the following Monday, the 23rd of August. They told me that the speed sensor on my rear driver side tire had come lose and had got wrapped and stuck in the wheel and that was the crunching/dragging sound that I had experienced. Also, they told me that my parking brake assembly had fallen apart and that was the reason for lights. They told me roughly it was going to cost about 600 dollars for the parts and labor. I started to ask questions of how this could be done, especially if before I brought the truck into them for and oil change and tire rotation and was told that it was just “unlucky”. I didn’t buy it. I was told that the only way to access the assembly is by taking off the wheel completely and that allows you to see it. I then started to just ask if they accidentally bumped it or may have hit it on accident. I was told “there was no way”. If the truck had run perfectly fine before bringing it in, and then immediately turning around after driving it off the lot from picking it up to tell them something wasn’t right and that it would work itself out, is that not a coincidence? We went back and forth for a good couple minutes but it seemed as if what I was saying was not their problem. How does a parking brake assembly just all of of sudden out of the blue fall apart when it the only way to access it is by taking it off, especially when they did a tire rotation and they said it was just “unlucky”. I then proceeded to get ahold of my father in law who at the time lived in Texas as he and his father owned a shop their for his entire life working on cars. He later called then to get answers and even spoke to their service manager who basically told my father in law that he basically wasn’t right about anything he was saying and that he knew nothing about cars. He also told him that the reason why the assembly fell apart is because my rear brakes were completely rusted out and they told me that I needed to change them. There was no way they were rotted out because they had just got changed about a year before this. They were in no way in shape or form even close to being “completely rusted out. Now I mentioned before that they gave me the inspection sheet, and marked on that sheet, the marked that the brakes were basically new. Now why would the mark that they are new if they are rusted out? Does this mean that they do not actually inspect the vehicle? I then got back on phone and kept talking to whomever I could and even requested to talk to Mr. Ahl but was told he was too busy to talk. They finally came back and said that they would cover the labor if I covered the parts which ended up being around $150, which still felt like a slap in the face. a huge slap in the face for feeling as if since I’m a younger customer that they didn’t have the time of day to treat me as a real customer or didn’t even want to own up to their own mistakes which then I would have gladly paid and not left this review. The thing that even gets me more is after I paid to have it fixed, they did ANOTHER multi point inspection on my truck and on that paper again they marked that my brakes were basically new. So again, why was I lied to when they told my father in law that my brakes were completely rusted out? Why was I not told this information from the start of all this, if this was the “problem”, which clearly it was not. It took my a couple months to finally decide to write up this review but every time I thought about this, the same thoughts kept popping back up, if I owned a business like this would I want to treat my customers as they way they treated me in this process? Why would any customer want to come to a dealership to be lied to, to be treated this way? The point of this review isn’t to complain about how I still had to pay for the parts, the problem that I have and the bad taste that they have left me with is that they didn’t even have the courage to take blame for something that they messed up and they pointed the blame back on me for basically saying that it was just “unlucky” and it did it on its own when it all seemed too weird that if you take off the wheel, you can access that assembly. If they would have been the better man and said yes we did accidentally bump that or yes we did accidentally hit it, I would have no problem what so ever. But the fact that they treated me like a 5 year old kid in the process by the way they spoke to me and the way they didn’t have enough courage to take blame for a fault they caused, is a reason I’m leaving this review. So you customers or you potential customers out there can see this review and be informed on how they really treat their customers. This isn’t a stay away from this place review, this is a real and honest review of the way I was treated, and to inform you all out there the way you might be treated. Is it worth this mess? More
