Hello Bart Orourke - sounds like you're enjoying the Levante. I believe you and I worked directly with each other when you arrived at the dealership. I even helped to delivered your vehicle to your home in Madison, NJ. My sister and I own the dealership and always work directly with our customers, We are owner operators and present in this business. I did respond to you and never heard back and still have not. What I really wanted to say to you was I didn't appreciate the threats of lawsuits and DMV complaints, harassing and disrespectful calls to women that work at our dealership. Everyone here worked hard to help with your transaction. We acted in good faith with clear explanation of how Vin Etch works (you even signed the vin etch contract) and Nancy did correct the location of where we place the serial stickers. Todd, With all due respect, your reply said "see you there" There are no threats, I have filed formal complaints with the DMV, Maserati HQ, and I sent you a court notice, as is required by law, to inform you of my intent to file with the small claims court. I did not call anyone in a disrespectful manner, I called the sales person and she admitted that she told me VIN etching is the VIN number on the windows. She later said she was incorrect and it is a sticker, not etching, and it does not include the VIN. She left me a voicemail to that effect which I can play for you. If you acted in good faith, why have other customers made similar comments on dealerrater ? I will proceed with the court claim (not a threat...I am required by law to inform you in writing which I have done). Regards Bart O'Rourke

Bart - I've been actively communicating with CT DMV and Maserati that we followed the process for vin etching as required by the CT state law. Vin etching in CT does not require the vin number to be etched but instead an identification sticker (which you have on your car) with a unique number that corresponds to your policy. I can also play for you your conversation with Nancy, maybe you have a different interpretation of disrespectful. Unfortunately Nancy was quite upset about your correspondence with her and the fact she worked so hard to have that car ready and prepared for you and ACTUALLY delivered to your home. I'm sure you could appreciate her hard work just a little bit. Best of luck to you - Todd

Thanks for finally admitting that you have not etched the VIN on the window. Standing behind small print and claiming a sticker with no VIN is sufficient is what I expect from a used car dealer, not a Maserati dealership. Nancy took time to explain the VIN is etched on every window and even suggested I call my insurer for a discount. She was quite clear that the VIN was etched on the lower corner of every window, no mention of a "sticker". If you are such a standup guy, why not call it "sticker" on the sales contract and not "VIN etching". For anyone still reading, google the term "VIN Etching" and I am sure you will not find any descriptions that involve a sticker with no VIN !! It's a sleazy sales pitch. Lets all be honest here. I would love to hear a copy of the conversation by the way, as there were no raised voices or anything rude. I have also been in touch with DMV and they are scheduling a hearing as you are in violation of Connecticut General Statute 14-99h(e). We have both been in touch with the same representative to the best of my knowledge. It was he who quoted the above statute to me, and he sent me a copy of the email he sent you. I will sign off here, feel free to get the last word in, I assume I will see you at the DMV hearing. Regards and I love the Maserati btw, beautiful vehicle.
