Lakewood Ford is refusing to accept any responsibility and would have me believe it was purely coincidence that the transmission failed the day after they flushed it. On Wednesday, 10/22/14, I took my 2001 Ford F-250 (7.3 liter diesel) into Lakewood Ford for an oil change and a transmission service / flush. On Thursday, 10/23/14, I left my house for a week long hunting trip to the Naches area off of Hwy 410. I was towing a small horse trailer with my hunting gear. I was on Hwy 410 near mile post 82 (about an hour west of Yakima) when my transmission completely blew up and I was barely able to get off the road. There is no cellular service in this area, but luckily I was caravanning with a hunting partner or I would have been stranded. We left my truck and trailer alongside the road and we drove his truck and travel trailer about an hour away to our hunting camp. Once we reached an area with cell service I was able to arrange for a tow to Valley Ford in Yakima. We drove another hour back down the mountain to my truck where I met the tow operator. On Friday, 10/24/14, Valley Ford called me and told me the transmission pump seal had failed and the fluid was at least ¾ low. He said there was a lot of metal shavings in the remaining fluid and that the transmission would have to be replaced. He then gave me the repair estimate at $3565.00. I told Valley Ford about having the transmission serviced the previous day at Lakewood Ford and how I had left there with a clean bill of health. I was then told that Valley Ford experienced the same scenario on a previous occasion. He explained that it was a judgment call, but Valley Ford replaced the transmission at no cost to the costumer. He then explained that flushing the transmission introduces pressure which can cause the pump seal to fail. He said the seal may have been old and week…but it is also possible that a good seal can be damaged during this process. I called Lakewood Ford and was referred to my service representative, Micky. Micky was very nice and sympathetic to my predicament. I explained the entire situation including the fact that I was away from home on a hunting trip and that my vehicle was in Yakima about 4 hours from home. I told Micky I was throwing myself at their mercy for any help the dealership could provide with the repair costs. She told me she completely understood, however she was unable to make this decision and she would have to speak with her service manager. By the end of Friday I had not heard back from Lakewood Ford. On Monday, 10/27/14, I called Micky and she told me she was trying to chase down the service manager. On Tuesday 10/28/14, I called and Micky told me she had provided all the information to the service manager and that it was out of her hands at this point. On Wednesday 10/29/14, I called and left a message for Micky asking if she had any updates. Finally at 3:30pm on Wednesday, I received a voicemail from the service manager, Jim Garner. Jim said Lakewood Ford was not assuming any responsibility or offering any assistance and it was his belief that the seal failed on its own. He went on to say the transmission is the weak link in that year truck. More

I Love this Dealership! I have been going to Lakewood Ford for several years now, and I simply would not go anywhere else. I have never left there without feeling confident about the service that was performed on my vehicle. That is such a nice feeling! They know my vehicle, and I trust them - it's as simple as that. I would have to say that this is the best Ford service department I have ever used, and having moved several times throughout the years that I have owned my vehicle, I have used several different Ford dealers in several different states. The customer service really is awesome! It is also so nice to have female service advisors! Suzi is wonderful! She always explains what needs to be done, and if the technicians find something else (I have an older vehicle), she lets me know whether it is something that can wait a little bit. The facility is very clean and well kept. There is a large window in the waiting room so I can see my vehicle while they're working on it. The waiting room is very comfortable, and shuttle service is also available if you are unable to wait. There are coupons for some services available online at the dealer's website. There is also the wonderful Ford Rewards program (which is free to join) which offers discounts each time you come in - discounts you can use then or save for later! At my last visit, it was raining when I left, and they very thoughtfully made sure my vehicle was waiting right outside the door for me when I left! I love Lakewood Ford! More

Lakewood immediately went into dodge mode, "its a chev e are a ford dealer,,, tke it to a chev dealer, its as is, screw you customer, any dodge they could think up. Finally after a couple hours , the y spent the 5 minutes to fix it. hours of arguing for a 5 minute fix. NOW I aam tryingto get them to release the plates they are holding for revenge. doesn't take 5 days to get plates for a dealer. tey are dishonest, teo faced people. avoid both Lakewood ford locations More
