Unfortunately, the vehicle had DEF fluid put into the fuel compartment inadvertently before the vehicle was ever brought to Gosch Chevrolet. There have been several GM approved methods of repair for this, the first being to attempt to flush the fluid out and replace any damaged components, or have a COMPLETE replacement. Obviously, one of those repairs is more expensive than the other, and it was the one that was performed. Contrary to previous times performed, this remedy did not fix the major issue, and the second remedy must be performed. Gosch Chevrolet has ALWAYS maintained that the customer paid portion for the repairs that did not remedy the issue would be applied directly to the larger repair, and the customer would NOT pay in addition to the repairs they have already paid for, merely the ones associated with the larger remedy. We are also willing to offer financial assistance in terms of discounts applied in order to lower the cost of the repair. Gosch Chevrolet agrees that this is an unfortunate situation, and one that we are willing to assist in, but the responsibility of the repair does not fall on the dealer. If the customer would like a FULL refund of the repairs that did not fix the vehicle, and would like to take it to another dealer, Gosch Chevrolet will happily oblige. So after making a half measure “repair” to my vehicle, which could potentially lead to future issues due to contaminated fuel being able to get deeper into the fuel system, the Gosch response is to try to wash their hands of the problem? You can tell a lot about an organization by how they handle less than ideal situations. Needless to say, they are failing this one with flying colors.
