It would be difficult to give this service department high marks. Two years ago (pre-Covid) work was performed and I personally had to fix hoses not tightened (the power steering pump was replaced) and i high marks. Two years ago (pre-Covid) work was performed and I personally had to fix hoses not tightened (the power steering pump was replaced) and it leaked fluid all over my garage. And I did mention it to the service department but to no avail. Fast forwarding, their were some major repairs (gaskets dried out) to a 21 year old Xterra that I only use it to get up and down Little Cottonwood Canyon in the winter (the truck only has 90K miles after 21 years). The communication was fair on when the actual finish time would occur. Time Dahle Robot Texting and not really giving me direct communication (or the ability to text back) is just plain silly in my humble opinion. Moreover, trying to get service on the phone took an Act of Congress! Lastly, I finally picked up the truck. Mechanically, the gentleman worked hard on it and did a decent job. However, 1/2 mile into my drive home going East on 106S without the heater working it dawned on me that the radiator was drained and not refilled. It was a very cold day too! The Xterra overheated quickly but I pulled over immediately not a mile from South Jordan on 10600S and 1300E. Freezing in my truck and waiting for service to bring 2-3 gallons of anti-freeze, I finally made a decision to walk to the 7-11 service station and buy 2 gallons of Peak Anti-Freeze. It took the two gallons, and I was off and running! Service did call me about 10 minutes later to ask were I was as they were looking for me. I would have froze solid in those 10 minutes without heat at that point. In sum, I asked for a $40 credit to my VISA which has yet to come. I don't think it ever will as I was placated on the phone or they were just too busy. I will not be back to Tim Dahle Nissan Southtowne anytime soon and I do not expect to hear from these guys as I sporadically take my truck there over the years. I doubt they take these reviews seriously as I wrote back yesterday on the 'Bot" that I was unhappy with the whole ordeal. More
We have purchased 4 vehicles at Tim Dahle Nissan Southtowne and our experience has been great every time. This is my second dealing with Tim Dahle Nissan, and I won't be back. We were pleased with our first car, a 2020 Nissan Leaf, but the experience at their Murray location was atrocious. Ultimately, we settled on a price (which was not the one listed online) and we were happy with the car. That Leaf was recently totaled, so we looked at a replacement electric car. The salesmen were initially very helpful and we were interested in several electric models. In fact, we were deciding on a used Tesla and also decided to pick up a used Leaf as well. The price listed online was $6,888 and I was prepared to pay that price (plus tax, title, license) given the current market for used cars. Then I was informed that the price was if I used dealer financing. My credit score is in the 800s and was told that financing would be at 5.9% instead of more than half that my bank. Given that I was going to pay this car off within weeks, I was willing to make the deal. When I get to financing, the car now has an additional $1,000.00 charge. When I asked about the charge, I was told it was for a dealer certification of the battery and "this is just what we do with electric cars." I pointed out that the car was already inspected and listed for sale, and the inspection was advertised. I was then told, as part of their business model, the car was priced competitively and the charge was required. Again, when asked if the inspection (and subsequent charge) was required, why is that not included in the list price. Again, I was told "its just what we do." Well, what you do is advertise one price and then tell me the car is not available at that price. It's not only unethical, it's illegal under Utah law. In a last ditch effort to rescue the sale, I offered to pay the full list price of $6,888.00. The dealer said that they could not do that. So we walked out. Interestingly enough, the next morning, that car was removed from their website. It was not sold, as we left the dealership after closing on December 15, 2021 and the dealership removed the car at opening December 26, 2021. More

My Nissan Altima was in the Tim Dahle Southtowne shop on several occasions this summer and we spent close to $3,000 on the car. Most recently they had the car in their shop for 2 weeks and couldn't find anything wrong with the car and wouldn't provide us with a car to use while they kept our car in the shop. We decided to look at newer cars and Nissan Rogue was one of the cars we decided to consider. I received a letter offering $4,412 for my 2005 Nissan Altima if I showed up on a specific date. We went to the dealership about a week after this specific date. We set an appointment with a sales representative that was referred to us by Leslie in the service department. That sales person passed us to another sales person. The second sales person had the car inspected and said he could offer us $3,100. Approximately 2 weeks later we took the car into the dealership and we were offered $2,000 for the car (nothing about the car had changed). Today (11/22/2021) I received a letter in the mail saying that if I appear at their store 2 days ago (11/20/2021) I will receive $4,712 for this same car. Nowhere in the letter does it state that this offer is subject to me purchasing a car from them or subject to an inspection. Tim Dahle's records should know the mileage, status and condition of this car. They have been the only dealer to work on it during the past 5+ years. The second letter was pretty much identical to the first letter we received. I called to speak with the person that signed the letter (Tyler Slade, GM). I wanted to know why the amount they offer in the letter is so different from what they offer when I am on their lot. I was told Tyler Slade was in a meeting. I asked for his email address or to leave him a voicemail. The person that answered the phone promptly hung up on me. I called back and nobody would answer the phone. Car Dealers and Car Sales people wonder why they are considered so sleazy. More
