I had spent a lot of time shopping around for the right car, and finally settled on a Nissan Altima. I set up a deal with Ken Garff Nissan in Salt Lake, but when I came to pick up the car I waited for 4-5 car, and finally settled on a Nissan Altima. I set up a deal with Ken Garff Nissan in Salt Lake, but when I came to pick up the car I waited for 4-5 hours, and they didn't have the car I was promised. The car should have cost about $470/m at the price I was quoted, yet their "best" monthly payment offer was $530, so I walked out. I almost bought a Toyota, but when that fell through I decided to try another Nissan dealer. Abraham at Tim Dahle was great to work with, very friendly and helpful. He helped me explain my situation to the sales manager, who examined my quote, and after about 20 minutes was able to offer me the car at $467/m. I spent a few hours at the dealership since my car had just come off the truck, but overall the experience was quick, painless, no-hassle, and positive. Oh, and the Altima drives great. More

I sat down approximately 2 years ago with my salesman and the sales manager (Travis)? They outlined a deal for me that I found unbelievable, and so stated. They both said,"we do this all the time, don't wo the sales manager (Travis)? They outlined a deal for me that I found unbelievable, and so stated. They both said,"we do this all the time, don't worry". I trusted the salesman I had bought a car from previously, and didn't feel I had to get anything in writing. Big, stupid mistake on my part, I admit. I was told I could bring the car back in 2 years. I could roll it into another lease with another car, keep it, or turn it back to them with no questions asked, and walk away with no liability if I wanted to go elsewhere. Sounded too good to be true, but I bit, having trust in the salesman. I have had in the back of my mind doubts about the whole thing, but continued to trust. Well, today, "we don't remember anything like that". Just what I imagined might occur. I'm more upset with the violation of trust than anything else. I love the car, not the lease that I'm stuck with. Do not trust these people at this dealership. Get everything in writing. Don't be stupid and naive like me and swallow assurances from these people. I felt up until this day that I would buy from this dealership until I leave this existance. But I will not darken their door again other than to get my free oil changes. They blew a decent relationship with this action. Stay clear of them. Smiles and handshakes are bogus. More
My buying experience here was okay but the service is an absolute JOKE!!! Whatever you do- DO NOT buy a maintenance package. It is the biggest ripoff and not worth the huge amounts of time that will be invo absolute JOKE!!! Whatever you do- DO NOT buy a maintenance package. It is the biggest ripoff and not worth the huge amounts of time that will be involved. A basic oil change that would take any other place 20 minutes- takes them 2 hours (even with you waiting in the waiting room) and if you have to have anything else done- plan on all day! When we bought our car they sold us a plan and put it in the system incorrectly and 2 years later we are still fighting with them to fix it. When my husband finally went in yesterday (since they apparently listen better to men) they tried to tell us that the reason it was taking so long to fix was because his name was on the service plan and my name was on the car. Funny thing is- before yesterday they didn't even know I had a husband, let alone his name. My maiden name is on the car! He was able to finaly get them to do the 30,000 maintenance on my car yesterday (after fighting with them for 3 months) but when I got home and checked under the hood I was amazed that most things were not done. They were supposed to flush/replace the coolant- it was never touched! Not only that- the coolant was well below the min line. They did not replace my radiator cap, my engine belts and they didn't even bother to fill up the wiper fluid. Those are only the things I can see- who knows what else they said they did and didn't. Everytime I call to get something fixed I am passed around and promised return phone calls that never get returned. This has been the biggest nightmare and has not saved us any money at all. Whatever you do- stay far far away from the service department and maintenance packages they offer you! More
Run, don't walk, away from this dealership. I wish I had read the other comments on this site before walking in to this dealership. Simply put, they are unethical and fraudalent. Here's my story (short ve read the other comments on this site before walking in to this dealership. Simply put, they are unethical and fraudalent. Here's my story (short version). After giving my OK to place a $1,000 REFUNDABLE charge on my credit card to hold a car for one day, I decided not to purchase the car. Though I was told that the charge had been reomoved, what was done was that, without any authorization, my credit card was charged $2,999. I was advised that I had Ok'd this charge (a lie!) and that it represented a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit!! I'm now having to go through all the various legal channels to get this illegal charge reversed. It's clear from other posting to this site that my experience is not unique. These people will apparantly go to any lengths to get your money. If you read this and still choose to do business with this people, my advise is to be sure to bring your attorney with you to every meeting. More
It's rare to find an auto salesman completely devoid of self-interest - today I found one. But on top of that, Mike was just unbelievably knowledgable. 17 years as a tech, a couple years in sales. In th self-interest - today I found one. But on top of that, Mike was just unbelievably knowledgable. 17 years as a tech, a couple years in sales. In this case, I told him I was comparing a particular Nissan and a particular Toyota, and he explained why the Toyota(!) was the better choice (this is a Nissan dealership, remember). He knew every mechanical detail, every option package, every... everything. He left me wishing I could do business with him. He said several of the salesmen and he have been together over five years. So... I can't rate buying a car there, but I sure liked my experience there. Enough to want to go online and write about it. More
I've bought cars from a number of different dealerships around the country. so I thought I knew what I was getting myself into but these people are incredibly unethical. when I think back on the experienc around the country. so I thought I knew what I was getting myself into but these people are incredibly unethical. when I think back on the experience I still can't believe the underhanded lengths they go too just to sell a car. STAY AWAY!!! I went in and negotiated to buy a Frontier and told them up front that the deal was dependant on the refinace of my house, after which I would have sizeable downpayment so I could have an afforable payment. they acted as if this was fine and they wrote up two contracts which I stupidly signed after their high-pressure pitch. I asked them not to pull my credit and didn't give them my SS# , they did it anyway I later found out. After my refinace fell through I told them I couldn't afford the payment. They kept harrassing me with phone calls threatening to ruin my credit saying it didn't matter that I never took possesion of the car I had bought it anyway. I went in to talk to them and try and solve the problem. after talking to the general Manager Ronnie Eames, at length he acted as if he would let me out of the contract. He said he would call me the next day and let me know what he decided. I didn't hear from him so assumed he had let it go. untill I got a payment notice in the mail a few weeks later form Nissan. They didn't even bother to tell me they sent it in. I tried to talk to Ronnie Eames again going down to see him 4 more times he was never man enough to face me, never returned my call even though he said he would. I eventually went an picked up the car I had allegedlly "bought" because the payment was due and the mental energy of fighting the bad situation was too much. Anyway buyer beware! in UT don't sign anything unless you are sure. My dealings prior to Tim Dahle at Ken Garff seemed much better. More
